First and foremost, we loved our stay and would absolutely return. Thanks Claudia!From a city noise perspective, there isn’t much insulation between the master bedroom and the street - you can hear everything. This wasn’t a problem for us, but I could understand light sleepers or people hoping for a quiet or romantic stay being turned off.For communication, Claudia was great and very detailed. She seemed to prefer to text my cell phone rather than communicate through the app, which I wouldn’t mind other than being particularly scam-adverse. I’d prefer (and suggest) to keep most conversation in the app. All was well though, and again, her texts with check in information were very thorough.Amenities were great, location was great, the bakery across the street was great!

This is a difficult review. The interior of the apartment does match the posting. It was clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the location is a bait & switch. The posting has this on a residential street with standard NYC exterior elements. The apartment is actually a 5 minute walk around the corner, on very busy 9th Avenue, above commercial shops with a questionable entrance.The host does not provide check in information until the morning of, leaving little option to make changes and was very defensive when questioned about the location change.We abandoned the rental midway through due to the location feeling unsafe for my college aged daughters to enter/exit solo and because the noise from the street is very loud 24/7. The windows have no noise cancellation at all, we could hear street conversations in detail at 3am. I have submitted a report to VRBO with no resolution. After years of VRBO, this lodging and zero accountability from the host or VRBO has enlightened me that there is no protection in place for a bait & switch situation.

The location is great, 3 subway station lines within half a mile. Citizens of Chelsea a minute away is one of the best breakfast places I’ve ever been to. The apartment has a full kitchen. When I arrived I thought the windows were open, I could hear people on the sidewalk below, every honk everything. I couldn’t sleep, not after walking ten miles a day and exhausted. Luckily the couch was there, and closing the glass doors to the bedroom makes the rest of apartment very quiet. But so narrow and hard. My initial Vrbo reservation said I would learn the entry code 3 days ahead. I asked the owner if there was a way to heat water (not seeing full kitchen in amenities and no reply. Asked again, no reply. Found more pictures of the place and dtopped worrying. No notice of how to get in 3 or 2 or 1 day ahead, no replies as to when and looked up plan b places to go. Finally at 4 pm the day before got info.

Die Lage der Wohnung ist perfekt und es war sehr sauber! Auch die Gastgeberin war sehr nett und zuvorkommend und ist uns bei unserer An- und Abreise sehr freundlich entgegengekommen. Wir waren zu viert in der Wohnung. FĂŒr eine Woche geht das auch. Es gab eine Luftmatratze und die Schlafcoach auf dem Foto. Die KĂŒche ist super ausgestattet.Die Straße hört man Tag und Nacht. Daran muss man sich gewöhnen! Das ist New York!

The good: Love the neighborhood, although traffic is very loud starting at about 6 am. But walkable, safe, lots of great places to eat and drink. The apartment is modern and bright and comfy. My sister stayed one night on the couch and thought it was fine.The bad: Very confusing check in. The address displayed is not the address given. Took many hours for the owner to respond. The first night the property wasn't ready, but she did give me a great alternative for one night. But it was frustrating to spend my days with my luggage, not knowing where I would be that night. Because of this, I wouldn't stay there again.

This property is in a great location, Chelsea. It is loud because it is on a busy street and neighbors above, but overall as expected. Check in procedures could be a bit easier and better communicated. Convenient to Subway at 23rd and 8th Ave, can pretty much get anywhere. Good restaurants nearby, easy walk to Chelsea Market and Meatpacking district.

Great location a few blocks away fro the hi- line and subway. The host provided all necessities including several inflatable mattresses linens and towels. Apartment is on 2nd floor for easy access. Would definitely stay here again

The worst booking I've ever made.The host never provided the check in information to me or VRBO. A day before check in she told VRBO she provided the info and had not. So, VRBO had to look at all our VRBO messages to determine that she had not provided the check info. She did not answer numerous calls from VRBO. Finally she texted me saying "I told you everything is fine", referring to a text sent a over week prior. Then I received numerous very long ranting rude texts. I finally blocked her from texting and told her she needed to communicate with me through VRBO and I didn't hear from her again.The day of check in I was stranded in New York City with a visiting 17-year-old Hungarian. about 2-3 hours before check in she told VRBO that I had threatened her and she wanted VRBO to cancel my booking. So, while stranded in New York, I had to send over 10 screen shots of our cellphone texts to prove that I had not threatened her. Then someone claiming to be her boyfriend texted me saying he would take care of the booking, but he never provided the check-in info. Didn't like my cell given to a stranger.VRBO booked us in the Financial District, New York which is much farther from Chelsea. I had to pay more for taxis to get to the tourist sites etc.In 24 hours I had 8 calls with VRBO lasting at least 20 minutes, some much longer.I've booked numerous apartments throughout the United States and Europe and I have never had this problem.
