We had a wonderful time at Chris' place-the house was comfortable for all of us, the kitchen was very well stocked, so easy to cook for a large group, great wildlife viewing (mom bear with cubs and many deer) convenient to town. Overall a great place to vacation, one that I highly recommend!!
For our first time to the island we rented this cabin for our wedding weekend and it was AMAZING! Walking into the cabin we were very impressed the pictures on this website do no do the cabin justice at all. Anyone looking for a weekend away in the woods this cabin is the place for you, it has a great "up north/ outdoorsy" feel to it! Also, the cabin is very spacious even with a full house. We will defiantly be back to the island hopefully same time next year to celebrate our one year :)
Beautiful property perfect for our family. Loved the outdoor shower! Loved having a fire pit for evening bonfires. Our only disappointment was we never saw a BEAR! đ Owner was very prompt on our inquiries. Loved kayaking Devilâs Island. Loved our beach time. Live music at Artbar and Burned Down Cafe. All of us took a watercolor class on Town Beach we really enjoyed. Great Island!
Everything was top notch. Chris is an excellent, responsive host. He quickly answered any questions and responded to power loss due to lightning immediately. He has a very nice property. And we saw bears.
Everything plus more provided. Even bears. Insane experience. Laying on the couch. Bears outside the door. Awesome. That is besides the awesome island life.
Chris was a breeze to work with and by and large we enjoyed our stay a great deal. We are not a hunting family and some were a bit put off by the sheer number of antlers. We really enjoyed other aspects of the lodge though such as numerous sightings of mama bear and her three cubs as well as deer and great mushroom hunting in the nearby woods. Even after feeding a group of ten, we took dried chanterelles and black funnels home. Township beach is less than two miles away making it walkable or bikable. The lodge was very clean and tidy with a good sized kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, decent beds, and a great outdoor shower. On the downside, the building is set into deep woods and so tended to be dark inside, bring indoor games or puzzles for rainy days, no common dining area for more than six. BUT also very few mosquitos.
This was the perfect location for our first full family trip! Plenty of space in this beautiful home and the host was amazing. We had 7 adults and 3 kids 0-3. The rooms were plenty big enough to accommodate all of us and we still had beds and the crowâs nest to spare. Walls of the rooms must be pretty thick because no one noticed restless kids at night. We loved the outdoor shower too! It was perfect for rinsing off sand after a day at the nearby beach. The host is top notch! He was quick to reply and so kind about all the questions we had. The home was clean, comfy, and located in a luscious wooded environment. We saw deer the first two days! In short, we all loved it and definitely recommend this home and host!
Very nice property with enough room for everyone including the dogs! The outdoor shower was fun! Close to the Beautiful State park! We had a great time! Thank you Chris! :)
Madeline Island was a beautiful place to vIsit. Big Bay State Park was a great place to hike and Big Bay Town Park was a great place to swim in the lagoon and at the beach. The ferry was efficient and Bayfield was fun to explore with hiking and shopping and eating! I would come back for sure!!
The pictures on VRBO donât do this place justice, itâs incredible. It is so roomy! We had 13 and I thought it would be tight after looking at the pictures but it was NOT! There is so much room and it is such a private setting! The out door shower is s must to try! The owners are a dream to work with, as well! They are pet friendly so we brought our 1 year old dog, they have a dream kennel outside. It was so convenient! The loft can sleet at least 2-3 older kids as well. My only complaint would be the mosquitos, but itâs summer in Wisconsin, and it was all over the island, not just he cottage!
The place was a dream. We had 10 people and stayed for an entire week. Large common area (Kitchen/Dining/Living Room) to hang out. Two levels for privacy and quiet. Plenty of room for everyone.
Like the other reviews, the pictures do not do this place justice. It is beautiful!!! So much space and everything was there and ready. Short bike ride to the beach. Can't say enough! Chris was so accommodating and always responded quickly to emails!! Thanks so much!!! Hope to return someday!!

Just One More Lodge is a family owned cabin. We originate from Clayton, WI. We have had connections with Madeline Island for many, many years. We built the lodge in 2000 and have had been making great memories ever since.
We decided to build our cabin on Madeline Island because we this place means so much to us. My grandfather and dad started coming to Madeline Island in the 1960's to hunt deer. That tradition carried onto my brother, myself, and now my son. We spent so much time on the Island and made so many wonderful friendships, we decided we wanted to build a place of our own.
The Island itself seems like a magical cure for stress...our beautiful lodge just adds to the overall enjoyment. To be able to look in basically any and all directions and see woods is amazing. We love sitting on the picnic table on the front patio and socializing. I am also a big fan of fires, so either we are outside with a fire or inside with a fire, I am very happy! There is no better place to jump in the vehicle, roll the windows down, and go on a cruise.
