I loved this cabin! Very comfortable. I wasn't sure what to expect for amenities, as this was my first VRBO, so I brought my own stuff (like shampoo). It had most everything though. The only thing I missed was a radio and the fridge does not have a freezer compartment. If the Montana Renaissance Festival keeps doing Red Lodge, I would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gibbons cabin. It is rustic but that is how it is advertised. It totally met our needs and the location and price cannot be beat. Even though it is close to downtown, it was very quiet. Loved talking to Dan and learning the history of the property. We will be back!
We ended up not staying here due to the cabin being very dark, dingy, musty smelling and a lot of the items being run down. The location is good, and it is affordable. We weren't comfortable with the conditions and decided to go elsewhere.
Overall this is a very nice property. Centrally located in town. Bery economical. A nice escape from technology. The only downside is the size of the bathroom. It is very tight especially in the toilet area. If you are a bigger person you are going to have issues. The bedroom is cozy for two people. We enjoyed our time in the cabin.
Cute as a button and adorable, cozy cabin! Great space for 2 people. One slight issue with hot water but called the owner and straightened it out. Will visit again!
Rustic and rough around the edges but a fun place to stay. Eclectic western motif! Loved having access to the gas grill, private deck and easy walking distance to Red Lodge and the the local market. We stayed here during the COVID pandemic so it was nice to be socially aware with little concern. The kitchen area was clean serviceable and all appliances worked well. Price was right and matched the amenities and cabin overall.
We are big history buffs and The Gibbons 1885 Cabin was a real treat to experience. Nothing fancy, just rustic charm at its best, plus great location to everything that is Red Lodge. We so enjoyed having Regis Cafe next door and the luxury of simply walking everywhere we went.
If you really want to get engrained in the local culture than stay at this cabin and it really is a cabin. It has a nice common yard with two other properties with a bbque and sitting areas, is a nice walking distance from downtown and covered all the basics very nicely. Liked not having a TV because you should be out enjoying beautiful Red Lodge and mountains, listening to music or reading. The cabin is also right next door to the most fantastic breakfast cafe, Cafe Regis which has a HUGE garden (for the restaurant) and outdoor patio/yard. The food was amazing! It was all self check in and out which was very convenient. Gave it 4 stars for the small bathroom and college size refrigerator but for the reasonable rate and location, we'd definitely stay here again.
Please respect the quiet of the neighborhood. No large parties, quiet hours after 10 pm, no smoking and no illegal drugs on the premises (inside or out). No pets please.
