Historic Cabin w/Hot Tub- near red lodge, visit Beartooth Pass & Yellowstone
Nestled in the town of Roberts, a short drive from Red Lodge, Kodow Kabin is a perfect retreat for a getaway. While the exterior is log, the inside is renovated and beautifully decorated. The cabin is one bed/one bath with a detached bunkhouse for 2 additional guests! (Bunkhouse May-October only) A well appointed kitchen has a farmhouse sink, and cabinetry that was made from the clapboard siding that covered the logs. Step out on the private deck to BBQ a great meal or soak in the hot tub under the stars for complete relaxation.
The cabin only sleeps 2 people max November- April. (Winter season).
Ring doorbell is in use on the exterior of the home.
Ideal location for access to the mountains along BearTooth Pass. Excellent host, very helpful and friendly. The cabin comes with washer/dryer, whirlpool tub, and a private back yard with picnic table. We enjoyed our stay and know you will too!
I was fortunate to live in Montana for 2 years and engaged with the people who are a match for the MT landscape in character and integrity. The Carbon County Steakhouse in Red Lodge was the perfect match for our stay at this property, The short time we had in Roberts and Red Lodge plus our drive over the Bear Tooth pass was a highlight of 10 days in Montana. A commercial lodging property fails to fit into this experience. It needs to be natural and MT ubiquitous. MT never fails and is many times more than expected.
This is such a fun restored cabin with re-used materials and original elements. Super dog-friendly touches: treats, designated blankets/towels, doggie dishes. No fenced yard, but great places to walk your pet. My husband and I hit a perfect weekend, as there had been a ton of February snow, but we hit the thaw, and thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Quiet neighborhood in a tiny, working class Montana town. Close to Red Lodge restaurants and shopping. Be sure to check out the Chuckwagon for sandwiches, home-baked goods, and kumbacha on tap.
Great out of the way place for quiet time and relaxing. Hot tub, bed, furniture and all accommodations were very nice. Bath robes and towels were great and the dining table setting was a great touch.
We only stayed one night on our way through the area. Communication was clear and the booklet with details/history of the house was helpful and interesting.
Amazing location to get some much needed quite time after all the hustle and bustle of our wedding. Spent the weekend driving up Beartooth highway and fishing was the perfect location to do both. The cabin is adorable and has all the amenities you could want and the hot tub was just perfet to relax in under the stars in the quiet back yard. The bunkhouse is set up just as cute at the main house. We love staying here wish we could have had a few extra day but thats life.
I was impressed with the cabin and the fact it had central A/C and a hot tub. The one bedroom was perfect for me and my son liked the bunkhouse as well. I knew from the pictures that there were houses around it, I just didn't realize it was in a residential neighborhood. The place was very easy to find and only 13 miles to Red Lodge. Overall, my son and I enjoyed our stay and visit with each other. Perhaps someday I will return, but it's a long drive for me.
Wonderful getaway, perfect for me and my boyfriend in the bunkhouse and my mom in the main house's bedroom. The bedroom and bathroom aren't adjoining, so we didn't bother Mom in the middle of the night. We commented many times that our hosts thought of everything! The robes for the hot tub were a touch we appreciated, as was the first aid kit. Overall, this is a very well appointed, lovely home, and we highly recommend it!
Not long enough! We will definitely be back! This canon was so cozy, comfy, quiet, and literally someone spent quality time thinking of everything someone would need. The decor is so homey-great taste! Thanks for sharing with the world!
Great place! Very clean and cozy. The hot tub is great! The bunkhouse was very hot upon arrival. It wasn't until I realized that the AC exhaust was blowing hot air into the room. Once I got that sorted, it was very cool in the room. My friend and I didn't get the chance to check out town but I would def. recommend the place to anyone!
If you are willing to travel a short distance, this may be just the spot to escape the street traffic in Red Lodge.
This cabin was just the ticket for taking a travel break. We enjoyed the historic charm, comfortable beds, spotless cleanliness, and watching wild turkeys walking down the village street. The owner was easy to reach and very friendly.
My brother and I drank coffee while talking about the history that could be told if those walls could talk. He loved the old butcher block and I was taken back to my grandmotherâs kitchen when I saw the 1950âs mounted, swing-arm can opener. Such a charming place. I definitely recommend it.
My husband and I stayed for just a weekend. It was the perfect little getaway. Once we stepped inside, it was like we were transported into a perfect little cabin in the woods. From the spacious living room, to the comfy bed, it was a perfect home away from home. I couldn't believe all of the appliances tucked away in the cupboards! If we were to stay long term, it's nice to know they've got everything you need to make it feel like home. The hot tub was privately tucked away on the back deck and very relaxing. Only a few minutes drive into Red Lodge and surrounding places. We hope to explore the ranch next time we stay.
I love that Charlene warned us about an incoming snowstorm predicting one to two feet of snow and gave us the option to either reschedule, cancel or come any way. We rescheduled for this weekend. This was our second visit and itâs so relaxing to stay here. Everything you could possibly need is right there. We loved soaking in the hot tub while being surrounded by snow. Charlene is very responsive and even offered to let us check out late because of yet another incoming snow storm. Unfortunately, we had to get back home, but so thoughtful of her to offer. We love being here and will be back!
We chose this cabin because of the history. It was originally built in Red Lodge in 1865. Over the years the log was covered in wood, brick and vinyl siding. It was moved to Roberts in 2004. When they got to the clapboard layer, they took it off carefully and it was made into the cabinets you see in the kitchen and bathroom. They cannot be replaced. In 2017 we moved to a ranch just outside of town, and wanted to share this cabin with travelers coming to the area.
