3rd time staying at the Songbee Guest house. Never disappoints, plenty of room, well appointed. Host has been very cooperative and nice all 3 times. We WILL be back. Thanks Cherish & Kira!!!
We loved our stay at Musicians Paradise. Warm and cozy with an amazing view! The place was very clean and well appointed with all sorts of wonderful touches to make you feel right at home. The host was very responsive and friendly. We will definitely be back!!
Everything we hoped for. Lots of room, lots of bedding options, set up very professional and thoughtful. Amazing top of the world view but easy road and easy to find. Ten minutes from everything in Homer
The house has a beautiful view and is very quiet. The kitchen with utensils worked great. The location was perfect for us. A grocery store literally 2 minutes away. A great little park with PB courts and a playground for kids. The only thing that we thought could be better would be to rearrange the living room. Move the couches out to where you could sit and enjoy that wonderful view. The hosts were great and worked with us on an issue. Tom gives the host and the spot two thumbs up!!
There was one particular problem with this property that we had a problem with. You have to be very careful about the amount of water that you used. A water truck comes around once a week to fill the tank. So water is limited. This is not related to the property but unless you like to fish every day there is absolutely nothing to do in Homer.
This house has a great location up on the hill overlooking Homer's bay and the amazing mountains on the other side. Almost every room in the house has a great view. The views are probably the most spectacular of any lodging I've ever stayed in! Distance from the town is perfect--SafeWay is about 5 minutes away but you don't feel that you are right in town.
Kitchen is very good and well equipped. The beds are comfortable and the living room furniture is quite fine. Lots of interesting books around the house.
We do have a few tiny gripes though. The washer and dryer weren't working--we were provided money to use a laundromat, which is a nice gesture, but it is better to have a washer and dryer. Not a big deal but I infer the problem has been there for a while, and it should be fixed. The water heater is small, but this is probably out of the owner's control, since the water seems to come from a tank and is probably limited in quantity. It's a remote place so you can't expect perfection. The location is a bit tricky to find at first and google maps doesn't really work that well--would be nice if owners would draw a decent hand-drawn map of the roads on the hill and scan it and make that available.
Despite these minor issues we are giving this 5 stars and would definitely recommend the property. Also, Homer is also a terrific town to visit, with startlingly good restaurants.
The house was amazingly huge, bigger than I thought it would be. The 6 of us had enough room to have our private space and enough space to all hang out in together. It's close to Homer and the Spit, right by the bagel shop too!
Nice property close to shipyard were we worked lots of room for everyone, only 1 thing wasnât so great the heating and cooling of the house was very difficult to control
My family (me, wife, 2-year old daughter, father-in-law, mother-in-law) loved staying here. The views were spectacular from nearly every room in the house. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans, and we were able to cook for ourselves without any trouble. It was also very convenient for us to have a place with two bathrooms, which we didn't see in a lot of Homer listings. While our friends saw a moose down the hill from the property, we never did see them. We would definitely recommend it to other travelers in Homer that need multiple bedrooms for a trip with family or friends.
It was a joy to stay in this home. The panorama of snow covered mountains and ocean are unparalleled. The house feels like a home, it has been furnished so personally and thoughtfully. We enjoyed meeting the moose and pheasant families that roam nearby. Overall, it was a breath of fresh air in a lovely small town.

Great location 10 minutes from town. Great views.
What a perfect place. On the hillside with great views. had everything you needed. No houses to look at on either side or up the hill. used the bar-be-cue for some fresh fish. slept great. would highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at the SongBee. The house was able to accomodate our family of 7 plus our parents. Very family friendly home. The house was clean and there were lots of towels which was great for our gang. Most of the rooms have a great view of Kachemak Bay. The stairway is very creaky but kind of adds to the charm. House is just minutes from the Spit and many stores and restaurants. We would definitely choose to stay in this home if we ever find ourselves back in Homer!
Our family of 8 had a wonderful stay. The home had plenty of space and the view was amazing! We loved all the special touches throughout the house and the kitchen was very well equipped. The movie selection was astounding too. Thanks for a great place to stay!
This trip was so amazing! The house was perfect, the second you pull in, it just feels like home. The view is gorgeous and there were even a few moose napping in the yard. There were 6 of us traveling, 4 adults and 2 children. There was more than enough room for all of us and the beds and furniture are very comfortable. There is plenty to do inside the house on a rainy day and a ton to keep you busy in Homer, just a short drive away. There were new appliances and everything was in great condition. If we are fortunate enough to make it back to Homer, we would stay here again. Thank you for opening your home to us!!
Our group of four ladies had a wonderful stay. The house is mostly just as described and nothing beat the deck! We spent each evening relaxing an enjoying the ever-changing view of the glaciers and bay. Good location for getting into town and down to the spit quickly. We really appreciated the momma moose and her twins making an appearance on the lawn one morning.
It wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to have a table on the deck. Also, if you're here in the summer and light sensitive, there is no way to make the room in the loft dark.
Serene, million dollar view and comfortable. You won't be disappointed.
We loved our stay at the Songbee house! What amazing views throughout. The caretaker was very prompt and helpful. The house was very comfortable. We saw moose right out the window and loved the location. We will definitely be back.
My wife and I stayed here with a couple of family members for 8 days in June of 2015. We looked at many different options and decided on the SongBee Rest House. If you are reading this review, Book This House! You will not regret it at all. Everything was just as advertised and our experience was amazing. If you want peace and quiet, beautiful scenery and comfortable accommodations, this is the place for you.
This house was amazing in the view and room enough for our whole group. It was cozy and comfortable--everything we needed was available. Nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. Loved the deck and the grill was nice as an option! Thank you and we will be back someday....

We raised our family in this fun home filled with warm wood accents and the ever changing beauty of the Kachemak Bay through out the house. With our children grown we want to spend more time where they are and to share SongBee with others who want to experience Alaska, Homer style.
Close to town and the spit, yet nestled half way up the hill gives you easy access to activities and shopping with beautiful views and a quiet peaceful setting.
A fully equipped kitchen, extensive DVD library, piano and multiple cozy spots to read or catch up on your email provide you with all you need to relax after fishing or to cook up your catch watching the ever changing drama of the view.
