We would stay here again. The fenced yard was a huge plusâespecially for our dogs given the nearby roadwayâand the pond was lovely; our kid loved the provided kayak. The main living spaces were clean, and when we ran out of a couple basics, the owner was very responsive and got us what we needed quickly. That said, the sleep setup needs attention. The mattresses, pillows, and blankets felt cheap and quite worn, and it wasnât a pleasant nightâs sleepâwe even bought new pillows after waking with neck pain. I donât mean to sound harsh; itâs just our honest experience, and upgrading the bedding would make a big difference. If youâre particular about sleep, consider bringing a mattress topper, your own pillows, and extra blankets. The yard also needs more regular care: the grass was overgrown enough to feel like a tripping hazard, and there was some trash and broken concrete around that should be cleared. We had to use the basement for laundry and, while it isnât a living space, it was very dirty and not pleasant to be in; a deep clean would help a lot. Finally, the road noise at night is noticeableâcoming from a very quiet rural area, we felt it more than some might. With upgraded bedding, tidier grounds, and a cleaned-up laundry area, this could be an easy five-star stay. We genuinely appreciated the dog-friendly fence, pretty setting, and the hostâs quick responses.
