The cottage was well-appointed, very clean, quietly situated, and had what can only be described as a million-dollar view of the twin lighthouses on Thatcher Island. Check in and out were super easy and our host was dedicated to ensuring our stay was perfect. Do recommend to anyone wanting the quintessential Cape Ann experience.
A perfect place to stay with 3 of my girlfriends for my birthday weekend! Cozy and cute, close to many fun places and we all loved the walk each evening to the public path to sit in the rocks -wonderful way to end each day!!!
Perfect location in Rockport. Lots of great views and walks all around. The cottage was cozy and comfortably accommodated the 4 of us. Sue, the owner, was welcoming and helpfully available to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this this great getaway.
I rented this property to put up a guest for a week in June. This jewel box of a cottage was exactly as described and illustrated on the site. I think what a web site cannot capture is all the thought and care that went into creating this home by the sea. Everything you would expect in a summer house is present. Chairs and an umbrella to sit under while you view the ocean, check. A charming garden in which to relax and enjoy the shade, check. An outdoor shower when you return from the beach, check. A comfortable bed and bath, a well outfitted kitchen and even a powder room for guests with laundry facilities. This cottage may be small but it lives like a much larger place because the space is laid out and furnished so well and every detail is considered. For example, two of the four dining chairs are on casters so can easily be rolled to other spaces. The host was very considerate and was sure to communicate with me well in advance of the stay. She even allowed an early check in because there was not a guest before us. I highly recommend this property for single person or a couple.
Thanks so much for the wonderful week at the cottage. We woke up every morning to view two beautiful lighthouses and to a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. Definitely want to return to the cottage.
We loved our off- season stay in this gorgeous location! The outdoor chairs and table w/umbrella were so perfectly placed to enjoy breakfasts and lunches with a great view of the sea and Thacher's Island. Also, so nice to have several places to walk to from that location, including Cape Hedge Beach. Owner could not have been more gracious, helpful and informative.
Small comfortable 2 bedroom cottage set in grounds around large stately home. Views across beach, aby to light house. We travelled by train to Boston for a day - very doable. Susan was more than helpful.
Iâve been coming to the same cottage for over a decade and for whatever reason it is I sleep better here than in my own bed at home and that may be because Iâm completely relaxed with no outside distractions but whatever it is I wake up each morning refreshed . Neighbors in the other cottages are very friendly too.
We had a wonderful experience, what a lovely cottage! Loved the view of the water and lighthouses. Central location in Rockport mad it easy to get to many different places around Cape Ann. The owner, Sue was very easy to communicate with, always a call/text away and kept us fully informed. Our family of 5 stayed comfortably! Thank you!
The cottage was welcoming and clean. Beautiful view and large windows which let in lots of sunshine. It was nice not to have to worry about bringing sheets, towels or kitchen items. Sue is wonderful to work with. A short drive to either Rockport or Gloucester, and plenty to see in both places.
We have been repeat visitors to cottage 15 for a few years now. We are a family of four and the accommodations are perfect. Not only is the cottage all you need for vacation in a gorgeous location but also every amenity has been included - beach parking sticker, lobster pot, beach chairs, towels, cooler, grill, games and more. Susan couldnât be a more conscientious and hospitable host. We are always sad to leave.
Susan Owner was so helpful on the telephone and replied to any questions quickly. The cottage is full of character and so well equipped. Being English, the only item missing for us was a kettle.
I loved just sitting outside on the grass. It is very quiet at night in the cottage. We loved it. Thank you.
Our family of five had a wonderful stay at Sueâs cozy and comfortable cottage. It was plenty of room for us with the pullout sofa in the living room. The location was perfect and so close to Rockport and many surrounding towns. We enjoyed the beach pass to Cape Hedge Beach and Long Beach. Also visited many beaches in nearby towns. Grocery stores were right down the road which made shopping for our meals easy. We loved eating our meals outside with the beautiful ocean view! Sue was so helpful and easy to contact. We appreciated her suggestions for places to walk to, drive to and eat. It was great not having to pack beach towels, coolers, umbrella or chairs as all were included at the cottage. Overall a great vacation!
Cozy Cottage Offered a Wonderful Experience Exceeding Our Expectations
My husband stayed at this cottage for an extended weekend getaway. Being devout Cape Cod/Truro fans, I was suspect as to the kind of ocean/sea-port experience we'd have but we have been converted. First the cottage is adorable and comfortable, well-appointed but not fussy. Being foodies (and wine lovers) we cooked at the cottage and had everything we needed. And the seafood you get from the town is fantastic. And there's nothing like pouring a glass of wine or margarita and walking down the lane to Loblolly Cove and take in the beautiful sunsets. Rockport is a charming town full of galleries, shops, and cafes. There's so much to do all within a short drive or by train if you want to go to Salem or Boston. We were there for relaxation so we took a short drive to Halibut Point State Park - gorgeous! All in all, we had the perfect stay and will definitely go back to that cottage again, next time for a week. You can't beat the rates - less than our Truro accommodations and much nicer.
The cottage was in a breath-taking setting with views of the Twin Lights and 3 of the most beautiful moons/moon rivers we'd ever seen. The 4 adults in our group - good friends - fit into the smallish cottage with ease. We all talked about wanting to live in houses that size when we got home! Everything that we needed - and more - was provided. We found great places to walk along the ocean, and found great enjoyment on rocks off a public path.
Pictures of this place make it look much bigger and more spacious than it really is! It IS a cute place but it is VERY CLOSE to neighbors and the owners on the road to the ocean were not very friendly about walking on their property. Sue is an excellent host, and the place is nicely decorated although tiny. Food Storage was limited. Comfortable beds, adequate bathroom space, coffee maker, many books. Better suited for 2 or 3 guests, 5 was too many especially 2 80 year olds!
We loved our stay! The cottage is warm and cozy, and it has everything you need: comfy beds, great shower and a place to make quick food. The view of the twin lighthouses at Thatcherâs Point is amazing!
My children and I stayed at the cottage last summer for a week. The cottage was clean and fresh and you can feel and smell the summer breeze wafting off the ocean with the windows open. The kitchen is equipped with all the pots and pans you need for cooking those lobsters you got in downtown Rockport. Downtown Rockport (less than 2 miles away) has wonderful little shops, galleries, restaurants and curio shops that sell all sorts of clothes and souvenirs. There's a grocery store a few miles down the road to stock up the kitchen. Having teenagers with me, we spent a great deal of time at the beaches; to name few, Front Beach and Back Beach, Good Harbor Beach, and Gloucester Beach where the famous fisherman statue is. At night, with a view of the glowing twin lighthouses from the cottage would bring on instant relaxation and serenity after a day full of activities. If you like kayaking, fishing, whale watching, SCUBA, swimming or just plain sun-bathing, its all at your fingertips here. I would highly recommend this cozy little cottage with your children of any age or a couple looking for a romantic getaway. We are looking forward to our next trip there in June!
