We had a great time at this beautiful cabin with amazing views! It is in the perfect location, only a 15 min drive to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We will definitely be back!

The pictures don’t do the cabin justice. It’s extremely spacious and well appointed. There were a few cobwebs but nothing I’d be mad about. Although the cabin sits next in between two other cabins, the placement offers wonderful views without feeling the neighboring cabins.

We recently stayed in this cabin for a short Fall Break getaway. The check-in process was very easy. However, upon arrival we began to find multiple things that made us begin to question the cleanliness of the cabin. It was evening shortly after our arrival, so the extent of the uncleanliness did not become completely apparent until the next day. The loft floor had multiple different chunks of cookies crumbled on the floor, and upon looking further in the daylight, we found wrappers from candy and snack foods under/around the bunk beds. Also, there was a large amount of dirt, dust, and debris under the bunks as well.The main level windows need cleaned, as they were foggy and had very obvious handprints on them. There were cobwebs on the fall foliage on the mantel and staircase down to the lower level. Plus, there were food wrapper on the floor in the living room, and wadded up blanket on the couch, and crumbs/dirt under the furniture.We spilled a small amount of water on the kitchen floor and my husband used a paper towel to wipe it up. The paper towel was black from wiping the spot, as if the floor hadn’t been mopped in quite some time. The blue pullout chairs in the lower level had crumbs/lint on them when we pulled them out to use them. The deck & porch have many spiderwebs and the front light was completely cocooned in a spider web. Walt responded quickly and apologized, which we appreciated, but overall, we were disappointed and found it hard to relax.

Your review prompted me to personally visit the property and address these concerns with our cleaning staff. Unfortunately, our regular cleaner had a scheduling conflict that day, and we used a substitute who clearly did not meet our standards. While that explains what happened, it certainly doesn't excuse it. We take cleanliness very seriously, and steps have been taken to ensure this does not happen again. I appreciate you acknowledging our quick response, and I sincerely apologize that the condition of the cabin affected your ability to relax and enjoy your getaway. This was a last minute mini vacation for us, therefore our options were limited. Personally the layout was not our taste. Know that the deck is downstairs, so there is no access from the main floor. Confirmation & check in communication was excellent via email. Overall, the cabin was very nice however it needs a deep clean. The deck was so dirty & covered in spiders that we didnt feel comfortable utilizing it. There was a small water leak downstairs from the upstairs shower, but there owner may not have known. A fake plant over the downstairs jetted tub was covered in spider webs and dust. Ceiling fans were caked in dust. Base of shower along the frame downstairs was dirty. Areas behind the beds and under the coffee station were extremely dirty. The ac unit has a limit on how cool you can have the temperature on the main floor. Boards under the hot tub sag and should be checked. Upstairs main bedroom toilet has staining inside the bowl, possibly from mineral deposits but not sure. On a positive note, the cabin is cute and overall appearance is nice. The owner requested a text when we checked out so cleaning staff could get a jump start. We texted but never received a response. Overall, it is a very nice cabin with easy check in process. I wouldn't recommend it for older folks or those with limitations but for a young small family it is perfect. This was not intended as a complaint, just giving our honest impression and is our opinion only.

We’re disappointed to hear that some areas of the cabin and deck were not as clean as they should have been. That is certainly not the standard we expect, and we will be addressing the items you mentioned with our cleaning team. We are also having maintenance look into the water leak and the decking beneath the hot tub to make sure any needed repairs are taken care of. We appreciate you bringing these things to our attention. Misty Ridge is a beautiful cabin that has been enjoyed by many guests, and feedback like yours helps us identify areas that may need additional attention. The deck and the view alone made this an amazing stay. Added since the pictures is a nice patio couch and chairs where we spent the majority of our time. The home was clean and had everything we needed for an amazing vacation.

A beautiful cabin with a great view!! The drive up the mountain to get to the cabin was fun and my kids really enjoyed the movie theater room!! The game room was perfect and the hot tub and view was amazing. I definitely want to come back and will recommend this cabin to all my friends/family!!

The hot tub was perfect! The cabin was extremely clean and beautifully decorated! The host, Walt, was responsive and very nice. I am rating this a 5 star because it really was. However, there was 1 issue. The bedroom on the main floor had a slight smell of sewage in the bathroom. This wasn't our room. But, my sister and her husband had to endure that. But, they said they lit a candle and kept the bathroom door closed so it wasn't a deal-breaker. I did speak with Walt about this and he said that they were actively trying to resolve the issue, even right before we arrived. Once that is solved, then there will be absolutely nothing wrong with this cabin. Something good to know, that isn't clear in the description is that the kids' bunk bed is in the same room (loft) as the games (pool table, air hockey, giant connect four, and a multi-game arcade game). Which was perfectly fine for us, I just thought some people may want to know that. Also, there is only 1 set of bunk beds, I thought there were 2 because the description said 2 sets of bunk beds. There is one set (top and bottom bunk). The beds were wonderful and the games were great, we had a lot of fun in the loft with those. The fireplace in the living room is spectacular (it is stunning)! There is a nice outdoor furniture area that is comfortable (it has an outdoor sectional couch - very nice). The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked meals in the cabin several times and had everything we needed. There is a Keurig.

Could have been great if the owner cared or even responded

Took a trip to stay at Misty Ridge with my 6 and 8 year old daughters in mid July. To start with the positives. The view is gorgeous and the location is solid, though a bit far from the park. The cabin has great potential with pretty much all the things you could ask for. Unfortunately, there were some issues that came up during my stay, including when we arrived finding a clump of pubic hair and some sort of black powder substance in the bathroom floor in the main floor bathroom and the shower door wedged open and unable to slide open or shut in the downstairs bathroom. Neither of those were a huge deal, I reached out to Walt, the owner, and he had cleaners come out the next day to clean the bathroom and also had someone fix the shower door. If those were the only issues this would be a much better review, but it was the 2nd night where things went a bit off the rails. When we returned to the cabin from a day in the park the temp in the cabin was set at 72 but the actual temp was 82. I reached out to Walt again and he had someone come to take a look at it. The maintenance person was great and he discovered that the downstairs thermostat had been locked and was reading at 69 degrees despite it actually being 75. He wasn't sure why Walt had locked it and I told him we could live with it being 75 down there. He also discovered that the mini-split in the game room upstairs has to be on and set to 72 or so for the main floor system to keep up with the cooling of the cabin. In an effort to get the system working more efficiently he blew out the line and cleaned the coils. Unfortunately, shortly after he left water started coming in through the bedroom ceiling, raining down from the ceiling fan and rafters onto the bed. I messaged Walt again and he sent the maintenance person back out. He took another look at the unit in the crawlspace and saw where the line had come apart at one of the fittings so he got it all fixed and the water stopped coming from the ceiling. At this point I had lost 3 hours of my evening to dealing with this AND I was unable to sleep on the bed because the water had soaked through everything. The maintenance person was very apologetic and said he was sure Walt would make it right and that he would have them come the next day and replace all the bedding so that I could sleep on the bed on my last night. So I slept the 2nd night of my vacation on a fold out couch. I'm 6'4 and in my 40s, not a great night sleep, and not a great experience on vacation. The third day we went out to the park again and then returned to the cabin around 6pm. At that point there was no new bedding. The mattress had at least dried out so I got the sheets and blanket I used for the fold out couch and laid them on the bed so that I could sleep on the bed as opposed to the couch. When I connected with Walt after the fact, he offered me a one night stay on a future trip. I told him that wasn't satisfactory. I live 4 hours away and am not going to make a one night trip to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, particularly if I would still have to pay all of the taxes/cleaning fees/etc associated with the one night stay. I also don't feel great about a solution of, "I know your vacation didn't go great because of issues on our end, so come pay us more money some other time and we'll give you a deal on one of your nights." I suggested I would prefer a refund equivalent to one nights stay OR he could offer a 3 night stay during weekdays on non-peak dates (in other words we could come during weekdays on non peak dates) and that I would be fine paying the taxes and cleaning fees and such in that case. I even offered to do it as a last minute booking so he'd know for sure he wasn't loosing other business. I figured that would be a scenario where he wouldn't lose any money AND it would actually be a benefit to me and my family. A win win if you will. Walt's response to my suggestions was simply to not reply at all. I sent another message a few days later asking for a response and he didn't reply to that either. Sent another message before posting this and he still didn't respond. I get that stuff happens. I'm a pastor and I try my best to lead with grace. All of my communications with Walt were kind and gracious. But I also have very little patience for people simply not caring enough to respond. I told Walt that I don't have a lot of recourse, but that one recourse I do have is to leave a review. My hope is that my review of my experience, and particularly my interactions with Walt, might make you think twice before booking with him, and that you'll instead choose one of the thousands of other options where you can at least hope to support an owner who cares enough about you to respond to your messages and make things right when your vacation gets significantly impacted by issues with the cabin.

The property was in a great location! It was conveniently located nearby everything we wanted to do while in town. The cabin was close enough to the resort pool that we could walk to and from the pool and fitness center easily. Walt was very responsive to every question we had. Unfortunately the air unit wasn’t working well on our 2nd day, but Walt had someone out there the same day and had it up and running in no time! We had a great vacation here.
