The host did not share the access code & instructions until 3 hours AFTER the advertised check-in time. When we were finally given access, we went into the building and the smell was horrible. The elevator smelled even worse. The apartment itself smelled the worst. The smell was like feces mixed with heavy spicy perfume. We literally couldn't breathe. I opened the siding door to the balcony, which was the only way to get fresh air into the apartment. But it was 95 degrees Fahrenheit outside with 94% humidity, so that would'nt have been sustainable. There were no windows. The bedroom is not private as it is open to the rest of the apartment at the ceiling. The apartment looked nice, but smelled so bad. We let the host know that the smell was unbearable. We booked at the nearby Hyatt & left. The host would not give us ANY refund. So we paid for a stay where we didn't stay at all. We lasted 5 minutes in the apartment before leaving because the smell was so horrible. We do not recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at this super clean, safe, well-appointed property! It was literally across the street from Guthrie Green, the Bob Dylan Center, restaurants, coffee shops, and a brewery. We were in Tulsa for two nights and Abeâs place was a perfect base for exloring Greenwood and all of the cityâs attractions. We had a few questions about check in and out, but were able to get them answered. The rooftop patio was a cool place to play pool and watch the fireworks happening one night. Weâd stay again, without question!
I've stayed at several properties through VRBO and they are always well stocked. I offered the owner/property manage an opportunity to know about my disappointment before I wrote a review but I never heard back. I'll start with the positive. building is lovely and secure. The apartment is new and exceptionally clean. AC worked great. Convenient to downtown venues. Some disappointments and easily addressed....The building's entrance is on the adjoining street. NOT on the street of the building address. This could have been noted. The bedroom....has a king bed and two night stands with small lamps. NO place to put your suitcase. No dresser or luggage rack. The the overhead lighting in the bedroom is poor and the bedside lamps are inadequate for room lighting. The bathroom.... Very poor lighting - fixture is inadequate for the space. Several bulbs missing but wattage not adequate. Tub is large and difficult for an older person to get in and out. Needs bars for safety! Box of tissues? Kitchen: A few PLASTIC dishes!! No glassware, no corkscrew, no dishtowel, dish cloth (although there is dish soap), no pot holders. The sliding glass door lock is broken. Not necessarily a security issue but nonetheless, should be able to be locked. Communication: No binder - standard with other VRBO properties, with WiFi info etc. Owner did not respond to three messages, including checkout instructions. Had to request check-in info. Disappointing!
Apartment was large, clean and very conveniently located in the busy Tulsa Arts district. You don't have access to the parking garage, but there is plenty of on street parking available. You're about 10 minutes from Route 66, and there are many restaurants, bars and shops all within easy walking distance.
