My family and I enjoyed our vacation at this Carp Lake beach rental. Close to Mackinac City and other attractions as well. The house was clean and comfortable for our family group of 6.

The cabin could have been cleaner. The bathroom shower curtain was pretty bad and it needed an overall dusting. Lots of cobwebs. The beds were pretty rough. Honestly, overall it wasnt too bad. The property was beautiful and lots to do in the area. We had a good stay regardless of any issues!!

My Cozy Home. We enjoyed playing board games in the screen room, built a bon-fire, and sat on the beach quite a lot. The water is pretty shallow, but its very clear and clean. We were able to take many refreshing dips into the lake. Highly recommend this place.It very close to Mackinaw City and we visited a couple breweries nearby that had great food!

The hosts are wonderful at communicating and ensuring that the stay is well supported. The location is great for navigating trips to Mackinac Island and the UP. The lake is very nice, and good for swimming. All linens were provided and there were plenty of towels for our group of 6. We did enjoy our stay. A note for those who like it on the cooler side at night- the airflow to the bedrooms is a bit tricky. Since they are on the smaller side and the windows do not open, it can get warm. There is one fan, but bring more along if that is a preference.

Beautiful lakefront cottage

This property is beautiful; the cottage is newly updated and has a great outdoor space with lakefront access. The cottage had everything we needed in the bedrooms, kitchen and bath. It was quiet, pleasant and peaceful.

Wonderful communication! Spacious and plenty of room for all of us. Kitchen was great!! AC wasn’t the best and thermostat was not easy to set. Overall - was a nice getaway for us for a few days

First visit to the area

We are cross-country travelers and have visited all over the U.S. The Michigan peninsula area is one that we had not yet visited. This little lake cabin was just perfect for our first experience in the area. Such a cute, newly remodeled place, right on Carp Lake, just minutes from Mackinaw City & the ferry to Mackinac Island, and minutes from Headlands International Night Sky Park. Everything was so convenient and easy once we got here! We rented a boat for a day on Carp Lake and took the ferry to the island another day, and just chilled at the lake in-between. Emma, our host, was so very helpful and responsive to all of our questions and gave us great recommendations. Our first visit to the area did not disappoint, and our stay in this cute lake cabin definitely contributed to this great trip! We would definitely stay here again.

Family Get Away

For more than a year my husband and I planned a family get away with our two adult children and their families. Due to circumstances beyond our control our plans changed a month before the originally planned trip. It turned out to be a blessing because we found this lakefront cottage! It was perfect for our group. My husband and I (Grandma and Papi) and our adult child's family. The kids were exposed to fishing, boating, biking on Mackinac, playing family games, cooking on the campfire... it was wonderful! We will be back. The host was quick to resond to all questions and was very accommodating. The property was perfect for our needs!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the cabin. Check in was simple, and we had prompt communication with our host the entire visit. Loved the private beach and dock. It was very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed fishing, as well as making s’mores over the fire pit. The bedrooms are small and stuffy—the AC doesn’t seem to extend to them. I reached out to our host with this, and she had a pedestal fan sent to us! Very kind! Appliances in the kitchen were pretty dated and would benefit from an upgrade. Shower wasn’t very hot. I think this place will continue to get better and better as the host makes updates. She seems to really care and wants this to be a special place for families to visit.

Great location with easy access to local points of interest. We visited Petoskey, Cross Village, St. Ignace, and paid a visit to Mackinac Island during our stay. We also brought our boat along which was easy to launch at the DNR site and dock in front of the cottage. Easy check on and check out. Loved the 3 season room for playing games in the evening with all the windows open. Tons of space in the yard for outdoor games also. Thanks for having us. We would gladly stay again.
