The Haven cabin was an amazing location for a reunion. The space was clean, in a beautiful setting, and had multiple activities to enjoy. The small lake was nice though not really suitable for swimming due to weeds/algae. The cabin itself is spacious and well equipped. However, the inside spiral staircase to the lower level would be treacherous for anyone with limited mobility or the elderly.
The Haven was expensive & dirty!Mouse poop in a kitchen drawer, then a mouse chewed through my bag in the downstairs bedroom during our stay. The stove was so dirty that it smoked when turned on, nearly causing a fire. It was unusable. The downstairs level smelled musty, likely from too much moisture. The lake water was not suitable for swimming, and the provided paddle boat was broken and stranded my kids in the lake.During our second day at the property, the owner's adult grandchildren stayed down the lake and we could hear them cursing loudly and saw them trying to sink a boat with cinder blocks which would definitely cause injuries if someone jumped off the trampoline and swam into it.I wish I had stayed home and saved 1,000.
Check in excellent. Host response to questions and issues was excellent. Wifi spotty due to rural location.Listing should be more clear about site and expectations.
Beautiful property. Just a few minutes off the interstate. Very peaceful setting. Neighboring cabins were not an issue with noise or disruptive behavior. Overall, it was a good vacation. The cabin was clean, the kitchen had what we needed. One minor item was the condition/quality of the sleeper sofas. They were old, and wouldn't be comfortable for adults/teenagers. Fortunately for us, we only needed them for two younger children.
Enjoyed our stay at "The Haven" cabin. Grandkids enjoyed paddle boat and row boat on the lake. Did not swim in the lake as it seems more suitable to a fishing lake, rather than swimming.
The house and outside property where clean. Everything worked the way it should. It was a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The lake was great, the beaches were clean, the beds were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this location to a friend and I have a feeling we will be back!
It was a very relaxing and peaceful stay for our family!! Just wish the paddle boat worked and the lake wasn't so weedy and full of snapping turtles. Overall we had a great time!!
The cabin was exactly what we were looking for, for a quiet out of town weekend. Located close enough to Tomah for groceries and essentials but far enough in the country for a quiet stay. The cabin is nice but definitely rustic. Fairly clean minus a few small things but for five guys in their mid 20s it was more than clean enough. The basement can be a bit chilly at night, even with the door closed at the top of the stairs, and there are a few screws on the deck that could be used to be driven in a bit deeper but that is just being nit picky. No wifi was a bit disappointing but understandable after reading the posted information in the kitchen. All things considered itâs a great property for a weekend escape out to the country. I would definitely rent again.
We were celebrating my sons 18th birthday with some of his friends. Everything worked out great, except there was hardly any Wi-Fi. Otherwise, everything was clean and spacious.
Very beautiful property, good amenities and nice location. However, when we arrived another group was already in out property and the owner was unreachable for the evening. They had mistakenly gone to the wrong cabin and not realized due to the lack of a check-in process. We had to ask them to leave and clean up the mess they left behind. Additionally, both pullout couches had mouse/rat dropping in them. The owner responded the following day, just said they would leave the other group a bad review. Otherwise beautiful property.
We are a five woman pool team, and this house gives us plenty of room to spread out, relax, play games, and we love th hot tub location in this cabin as opposed to the others. Any noise does not affect the others that may be sleeping. Two TV's is a plus and plenty of linens. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful cabin!
The property was spacious enough for a gathering of 3 different families (10 people).
Itâs nice and quiet, but when we needed things weâre just a few minutes away from town.
We loved our stay here! The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The house was great for our family vacation. We really enjoyed the boats provided and hanging out on the deck and in the living room. We made use of the grill, too! The property has some short walking trails that were a fun activity too.
Thanks so much!!
If you are looking for a clean home, with outdoor activities, and place to relax, look no further. We were here for a girls trip and we canât wait to come back again next year.
This was the perfect spot for us. We stayed for the week just hanging out with family. Nice guiet grounds. Plenty of space. The younger kids really loved the water trampoline. Plenty of fishing when the weather would cooperate. We will definitely consider staying again next time we are in the area.
Coming from Chicago, we were very aware of the hassles of urban living and the need to occasionally get away from it all. We felt that many urbanites would not be satisfied with your average 'cabin in the woods', but instead would appreciate comfort and luxury.
We knew our location was perfect, halfway between Chicago and Minneapolis/St. Paul via interstate 90/94 all the way, 3 1/2 hours from each. The property is beautiful, wooded with a spring fed fishing/swimming lake which we named 'Birch Lake' because the lake is surrounded with white birch and pines. We then started building after giving much thought to what our guests would want, need and appreciate. One of the most outstanding features is peace, quiet and natural beauty.
