Profitez de l'île à partir de votre unité de condo sécurisée privée sur le côté ouest de l'île. Profitez de chaque jour de voyage sur l'île pour découvrir ce que les modes de vie de l'île ont à offrir uniquement pour rentrer chez vous dans votre escapade isolée de Mayheim de tous les sites touristiques surpeuplés. Faites un bon dîner et asseyez-vous sur votre véranda qui se promène directement sur le sable pour une promenade le long de la plage alors que les plus beaux couchers de soleil remplissent le ciel. Rien de mieux que d'emmener les enfants sur la plage une nuit avec une lampe de poche pour faire du crabe de sable la nuit, apportez votre seau, il y aura beaucoup à attraper. Ou détendez-vous simplement sur votre véranda et profitez du reste de votre soirée en écoutant les vagues se briser dans le fond. Réveillez-vous et préparez le petit-déjeuner et profitez des sites en tant que baleines et les dauphins sautent juste au large de la côte. La plongée en apnée est la meilleure, nagez avec des tortues tout le temps et vous pouvez louer du matériel et des planches de paddle au magasin de surf local juste en bas de la route. Les plages ne sont jamais bondées et il est facile de se sentir à vous car vous accédez facilement à votre unité en bord de mer pour tous vos besoins.

Notre Cabana d'une chambre s'ouvre directement sur une véranda qui donne directement sur l'une des plus belles plages d'Hawaï, connue comme un paradis pour les tortues. Profitez de la vue depuis vos sièges sur votre véranda ou directement depuis l'oasis de sable de Turtle Beach à Makaha.

Aloha Chris, I am glad you like the locations of the beach cabanas. As for updating we did that only a year ago or less. A new total make over on the bathroom in the tune of 10 grand. As for the homeless there are down the beach a long ways down. If you stayed in Wakiki there are all over the beach there and live on the sidewalks. Homeless all over the world cant stop it. Many in Hawaii are working houseless, the cost of living is insane. 93 Grand a year is low income.

Best view

Enjoyed our stay the view and the beach is prime, it can’t get better. It is a public beach with late “fishers” but we had nothing to worry about we felt very comfortable leaving our outside door open. No air conditioning which we weren’t used to but there were a lot of fans to use. Everything you need is there plenty of towels, chairs, umbrellas. we’d stay again the price was worth what we got. The owner does warn not to leave food out and we would recommend that as well, keep everything in fridge nothing in sink and empty garbage frequently, there were a few big cockroaches BUT for the view, the beach and the price it’s still well worth it.

Do not book, it’s infested with roaches

I’m not sure how this place has the rating it does. The owner waited until 4 days before our stay to notify me about a change in Hawaii laws so I didn’t have an option to rebook. It was late when we got in so we didn’t notice until the next morning that You have to drive through a very sketchy neighborhood to get here and the beaches are lined with homeless camps. That first night, we noticed a couple small bugs and ants but chalked it up to tropical climate. That is until we started to bring in our groceries. As soon as the food came out so did the roaches and ants and we were ultimately unable to cook or eat in the unit. The neighbors blasted music or loud cars from the busy road could be heard roaring by the condo at all hours. My young daughter hid inside from nosy neighbors who kept looking into our windows and yelling into the unit. We had to keep the curtains closed. There was a homeless set up about 100ft from the porch which a resident told us to becareful because they’re known to rob people on the first floor so despite being on the beach, we never got to enjoy it. At one point my daughter went to open a towel to dry off and a roach flew out and a giant roach planted itself on the night stand by the bed. We ran away from this place as soon as we could find a hotel with vacancy. I tired to contact owner but got no response. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!!!! I have photos to prove my review.

Great property. Fabulous location, away from the tourists. Thank you for making sure there were coffee filter papers in the cupboard. Being on the ground floor, walking from the beach directly into the apartment means lots of sand gets walked in, too. A low foot bucket to be filled with water and placed outside the back door would be most useful to wash sand off before entering the apt. Also one extra mat to collect any sand/ dry feet as we walked in would be useful. Soap and shampoo in the bathroom needs to be replenished. It was fortunate I had my own with me. Minor details which would make the whole experience of staying in this apartment perfect.

Quiet and peaceful stay on the beach

Our first visit to Hawaii was great. The room at Makaha Condos was just as described. It was very nice waking up and walking out onto the beach. The sunsets in the evening were amazing. The water and beach were clean and very clear. We were visited by a seal that swam up on the beach to get some sun. We saw some sea turtles swimming just off the beach. The climb up Turtle Rock was incredible. That was just the stuff we did at the room. The property manager was excellent to deal with and communicated well.

The condo was exactly as pictured. Everything was clean and ready for our stay. The other guests and residents were friendly and welcoming. The staff we met were helpful and full of great stories. Kenike was awesome to work with. Already planning our 2020 visit.

Best beach in the world

This was the 6th year in a row we stayed at one of the Makaha Beach Cabanas. First time on ground floor with walk out onto beach. Owner was very responsive to various issues that came up during our stay. Cabana could benefit from some upgrades to make stay even more enjoyable such as seat cushions on lanai chairs, additional beach chairs, updated linens and cutlery. Would definitely stay again at this cabana.

Away from the crowds

I loved being away from the crowds but if you are looking to stay where the action is, stay in Waikiki, it was a drive if you wanted to do the tourist thing. We saw turtles and whales (right time of year) from the beach. The full moon setting was amazing to watch every morning we were there. The unit has all the things you would want for the beach, wasn't anything I wished I had that wasn't already there. The lanai is not as depicted in the pictures but was still nice to sit on and watch the world go by with a glass of wine. Would definitely stay at again if available.

Small family friendly ground floor beach condo

Great location on the quiet side of the island. Minutes to grocery stores, Long’s, and local restaurants. Family friendly, located right on the beach. The condo has everything you need from full kitchen, pleanty of linens and towels, to snorkeling gear, beach chairs and towels. Great for romantic getaways or small family vacations. Very clean and secure.

We were visiting my sister who lives less than a mile down the hwy from Makaha Cabanas. Perfect location for us. Beach walk every day. Surf a bit unpredictable. Unit was comfortable and fairly clean. We had to fix the screen door so we could use it (kept coming off track). All in all a good place for us to stay while visiting my sister.

Peaceful and Beautiful

This is a small unit and well used, however everything we needed was there. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pot and pans, and spices. Bathroom was also well stocked. There were plenty of outdoor water toys, coolers and chairs. Bed was very comfortable. You can't find a better view than the one from the patio. We had one small issue and it was taken care of immediately. If we come this way again we would be happy to stay here.

Loved it!

I stayed here for a week while attending a conference in Honolulu. Loved having the sand and surf directly out the door at such a reasonable rental rate. The pictures of the condo interior, property, and surrounding area are very accurate. Kenike was super helpful. I hope to stay again!

Liked the remodel , especially the bathroom. Very clean and self contained.

I have returned to this beautiful place every year for the past eight years and brought friends who then want to return. The unit was very clean and am happy they remodeled as well. The screen door to the lanai does need to be replaced as never could keep it on the track and I am confident this will be addressed. Makaha is amazing and we marvel every year at the beach which is steps away and seems like our own private paradise as is almost empty. Thank you Kineke for always responding promptly.

Crummy condo in the worst part of Oahu

It was nice being on the beach, hearing the waves and seeing sunsets; also nice to be around native Hawaiians. That said, the rest was total crap. The condo was lousy and except for some pretty beaches, the area was extremely unattractive.

Aloha, First of all i don't feel the condo was crummy at all. The bathroom.was just totally remodeled. You had more then enuff fans in the condo for your comfort. When i went down to put in a few more trash bags, you were already there. I asked you know every thing was, you said perfect. I made sure you had a blower as asked for and new boogie board. Fully furnished kitchen, private lanai. Beautiful beach. Awesome sunsets. You got an amazing deal .

Relaxing and Quiet Atmosphere

Overall everything was wonderful, as expected. Although the condo needs a little extra cleaning and the appliances could use a little extra love and care. The bathroom shower floor was dirty, as well as the kitchen floor. The walls could use a good scrub down (there was a lot dirt and stains on them). The coffee pot wasn't working all the time and the fridge had rust on it (although it did work). Like I said overall it was a great place to stay and we had a wonderful experience. I definitely would stay there again.

Very dirty and dated

We arrived and found this property extremely dated and no soap in bathroom and shower. We were told by manager that they don't supply any bar soap as no one uses it and "it's gross". Also there are no hand towels as well. We contacted the owner through the manager and he told us no one has complained in the past. We are concerned about cleanliness after this issue and asked to move out on the first day but they offered no refund. Soap scum around entire shower base, egg yoke dried on plates, spots that appears to be blood on the walls in bathroom. Very poor cleanliness!!

in response to your review. I'm sorry that you feel that Kenike didn't handle your concerns and that the pump soap wasn't sufficient for you. when you called to inquire about bar of soap she advised you that we don't provide bar soap that we provide liquid soap. as to the towels, she advised you that all the towels were washed and in the closet, you merely had to pull out what you wanted to use from the linen closet and also in the bathroom cupboard. I will upload pictures of the unit that Kenike took of the unit right after you left. as to dishes, this is a fully furnished unit and we do not wash dishes for people, she does check them for dirty dishes and re organizes the cabinets prior to a new rental. the few dots of stain on the wall is stain (paint) that was used to stain the cabinets and do NOT resemble blood. Through the multiple conversation Kenike offered to come down and let you show her your cleaning concerns at which point you advised her that was not true. it was merely what you felt you needed to say when you called VRBO. She also spoke with VRBO and sent the pictures to them and expressed that she had offered to come down and see what concerns and or re clean what every your felt was dirty with no resolution or response from you. Kenike said that you confirmed that you merely said it was dirty to VRBO per that is what you felt you needed to say and that your true concerns were that your wife felt it was out dated. this is a beach unit and is decorated in a beachy style there is nothing different other than the color of the comforter at this point. besides that there is a clean working refrigerator, stove, microwave and coffee pot. all utensils and cooking supplies are tucked away in cabinets as normal. Kenike did talk to VBRO and advised them that she had been contacting you back in forth several times that day and that she lives on premises and would take care of concerns to their surprise as you told them that you were not able to get ahold of her. unfortunately we book the units in advance as being that it was the day of it would not allow us to re book the unit with someone else - that is why we have a 60 day cancellation requirement. seems very petty that a bar of soap v. a pump liquid soap would be a valid complaint as all the rest of the appliances etc were clean and in working condition. pictures being attached to email and sent to vbro now. Amazing and Beautiful

It was an amazaing stay. It is right on the beach. My husband and I loved waking up seeing the ocean every morning. The condo was awesome and very kept up. My husnand and I had a blast. Thank you very much for a great time.
