Everything about the place itself was great, however neighbors were up until 3am cussing and fighting and the area is very unsafe.

The neighborhood is typically very quiet, with children often playing outside. Great location to all the spots in New Haven 8-10 uber ride which makes things easier and cost effective The apt is quite clean and very very big. The pics are accurate ,check in out was easy .

The host was super nice and thoughtful, when asked questions, she would answer right away. The house is historical, we got a chance to see the nice woodwork from the hardwood floor and kitchen cabinets. The rooms are spacious, and parking space is very large as well. The check in and check out instructions were very clear. The host really made our trip to New Haven easy and pleasant.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. Though the outside of the property could use some TLC the inside was very quaint, clean, and provided all necessary amenities.

Nice property, Great communication, close to everything

We enjoyed our stay at this property. There was lots of room for us to gather and spend time together. The hosts were super helpful when we had any questions or issues and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The property was close to Yale and the freeway, which made it easy to get around. The house was well appointed with everything we needed and was a great deal for the price.

Spacious, Clean, and Convenient

I had such a wonderful stay at this VRBO! The hosts were very communicative and even included a gift before I arrived because they had noticed one of the televisions did not work. I stayed here for a conference at Yale, which was about a 15 minute walk away. The VRBO was in a great area, it was super clean, and everything I possibly could have needed was there. Highly recommend, and would absolutely stay again.

Tough neighborhood; not convenient to Yale

If you're driving, this place is probably fine. But the house next door has bars on the windows. Not recommended for a visiting scholar or a woman who wants to walk around the neighborhood. The rental itself is well equipped, but there are no numbers on the units, so you have to guess which one is yours. One of the other tenants has a dog, so be careful if you have allergies. The neighborhood was rough enough that I didn't stay in this rental. Be careful.

I would strongly discourage anyone from staying here based on the safety of the neighborhood. We circled the block three times before determining that our safety was at risk. Houses had bars on windows, no trespassing and security signs, chain link fences with dilapidated exteriors and trash littered the street and yards. People were loitering up and down the street. And this was midafternoon. The house we rented looked in good shape and based on photos I am sure it was nice inside but we felt even unloading luggage from the car we would have been targets. We forfeited our rental fees and found a hotel. I messaged our host and respectfully shared my concerns. He replied back that some guests weren't accustomed to an urban setting. Maybe not, but I wasn't willing to take that chance.

That said, I kindly want to point out that rating a property 1 star based solely on your perception of the surrounding environment — without actually entering or experiencing the home itself — doesn’t fully reflect the quality or accuracy of the listing. The property is exactly as described in the photos and listing details, and many guests have stayed here and expressed satisfaction with both the home and the area. Urban neighborhoods can sometimes appear different than what some travelers are used to, but that doesn’t automatically make them unsafe. In fact, this area is home to many hard-working families, and local residents who know the community well would not view it as dangerous. While your personal comfort is valid, using that discomfort as the basis for a 1-star review doesn't give future guests a fair or balanced perspective. I appreciate you reaching out to me privately before leaving, and I hope future stays meet your expectations more closely. Wishing you safe and comfortable travels ahead
