Qui vous reçoit ?
Vous êtes reçu par ian

Hi, I’m Ian, I’m an adventurer at heart, having traveled to over 80 countries, often on a shoestring budget by motorcycle, van living or backpacking and staying in 100s if not 1000s of accommodations. After years of exploring the world’s hidden gems, I pulled from my experiences and created The Sanctuary as a peaceful, inspiring space for others to reconnect with nature and themselves. I take great pride in curating unique, soulful stays with thoughtful design and top-notch comfort. Hosting allows me to share a bit of that magic and welcome fellow travelers, families, and dreamers to this special place.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
The Sanctuary is perched on top of the highest hill in South Morro Hills, offering one of the most breathtaking, wide-open views in all of North County San Diego. From this single vantage point, you can see the entire sweep of Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Fallbrook, Camp Pendleton, and beyond — all the way out to the Pacific Ocean and, on clear days, the distant peaks of San Gorgonio, San Jacinto, Palomar in the San Bernadino mountain range.
This area is one of the last rural pockets along the coast — peaceful, agricultural, and full of old California charm. I chose this location because it offers a rare combination of solitude, natural beauty, and easy access to beaches, wineries, and the coastal cities just minutes away. There’s truly nothing else like it.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
The Sanctuary Pool House is a handcrafted hilltop retreat that blends refined materials with open-air living. Finished in rich vertical grain Douglas fir, the home features 8-foot solid interior doors and a clean unique, craftsmen feel throughout. Original artworks hang on the walls painted by my father Jim for your enjoyment. Two massive 8’ x 12’ sliding glass doors meet at a corner and open to the pool and spa area, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience that makes the most of our Southern California lifestyle.
Just beyond, a 1,500-square-foot pool deck with saltwater and 1,200-square-foot observation platform offer stunning views across the rolling farmland of South Morro Hills and out to the distant peaks of Palomar, San Jacinto, and San Gorgonio. Capture dramatic skies and golden summer sunsets. Red-tailed hawks soar at eye level, and the calls of nearby peacocks echo gently through the canyon. This is a space designed for stillness, sensory connection, and the kind of natural beauty that feels truly rare. Around the pool are is a jungle like setting that provides and array of colors and privacy from the outside world with no windows or other homes in sight.
