Set on 39 private acres, this farmhouse offers the rare combination of true country privacy with the convenience of town just minutes away. You’re only 1.5 miles from La Grande and 5 minutes from Eastern Oregon University, yet it feels like a world away.

This is Eastern Oregon at its best: wide-open space, fresh air, quiet evenings, and unforgettable views.

THE HOME

The FarmYard is spacious, warm, and thoughtfully set up for groups who want room to relax without feeling crowded. It comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests, making it ideal for families, friend groups, work crews, outdoor enthusiasts, or guests visiting the area for sports, school, or events.

Step outside onto the private deck facing the foothills of Mt. Emily, one of guests’ favorite features of the property. With no close neighbors, you’ll have the freedom to truly unwind—morning coffee, evening drinks, or simply soaking in the quiet.

Wildlife sightings are common here. Guests regularly see elk, deer, and other local animals moving through the surrounding land, especially in the mornings and evenings.

Another guest favorite: the large treehouse, which adds a fun and memorable element for both kids and adults. Please use responsibly at your own risk.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home was just as described and so very clean! We had plenty of room and loved the chickens, livestock and the fresh honey. The owners are readily available and friendly! We loved this home and would highly recommend staying here!

I wish we had been able to stay here for two weeks. Such a nice, well-stocked house. The views were stunning and we enjoyed the fresh eggs, fruit from the trees and vines, and fresh honey! The hosts were so welcoming and easy to communicate with. We all hope to be lucky enough to stay here again sometime!

This "farmhouse" was fully modern, well equipped, and gave us a lovely, quiet place to relax during our stay.A short drive from town, it was easy to shop or go out for dinner, but we were away from the highway and railroad noise of La Grande. A special bonus was the fresh eggs that everyone really appreciated in their morning omelets.

Heaven on Earth

Such a beautiful place. Loved the patio, loved the views, loved the chickens, loved the home. So comfortable, clean and beautiful inside and out. Hosts were amazing and very helpful. It is such a breath of fresh air that all people should enjoy at least once in a life time. Welcome to the beautiful country side.

We’re a husband-and-wife team who live locally in La Grande and take pride in hosting a place we truly care about. Together, we own Mountain Valley Properties, a local property services company, which gives us a unique, hands-on approach to hosting.

I’m a licensed real estate broker, and I manage the guest experience—focusing on communication, cleanliness, and making sure every stay is smooth from booking through checkout. My husband is a licensed contractor, which means the property is well maintained, thoughtfully set up, and continually improved with long-term comfort and function in mind.

We believe a great stay comes down to the basics done exceptionally well: a clean home, clear communication, and a space that feels easy to settle into. The FarmYard was created to offer a peaceful, private place where guests can relax and enjoy Eastern Oregon—whether they’re here for work, outdoor adventure, or time with family and friends.

We live nearby and are available if needed, while always respecting our guests’ privacy. Our goal is simple: to provide a clean, comfortable, and reliable place to stay—one guests feel confident returning to again and again.
