The property was very charming and exuded historical charm. We gathered as a family to attend a wedding nearby. With our free time we took a hike at the nearby state park and had lunch next to the river in Clinton. Overall, a relaxing respite from the city.
This remarkable classical Greek Revival design was created by John L. Sharp in the mid-1800s as a wedding gift for a young couple. As you ascend the stairs, youâll notice an original wooden heart inset in the banister, symbolizing the homeâs happy heritage. The house was relocated from its original spot to accommodate the Round Valley Reservoir. The 3200sq ft living area retains its original pumpkin pine floors and boasts two period-appropriate fireplaces and radiators in most rooms. The property features a newly added pergola in the side yard and a spacious open back porch facing the beautiful large evergreens at the rear boundary. Additionally, a separate detached 2+ car garage is situated in the rear/side yard. The peaceful 1+ acre fenced property is adorned with majestic oak trees along the street, and a gravel drive complements the character of the home.
