This house was a great place to stay for our trip to HITS. Itâs meticulously clean, very spacious and within walking distance of restaurants, shops and a convenience store. HITS is only a few minutes by car. The hosts were quick to reply to any communication and were very accommodating.
I did stay here once before at Christmas Time This stay was just as nice. This home is charming and cozy. So much natural light. And so clean. Communication with the owner was easy. if I had any questions, he answered them right away. I would definitely recommend this home to someone else and I will definitely stay there again.
Lovely old house in the heart of small town Saugerties
We were visiting from the UK with the purpose of house hunting in the NY/PA area so had long drives and the location was perfect for that. The host was great on arrival, we arrived early hours of the morning due to a snow storm delaying our flight from London. The host was great allowing us access to the house, no problem at all, much appreciated. We loved Saugerties, such as nice small town with plenty of diners and shops. If you are a light sleeper you may want to use ear plugs due to early morning snow ploughs. This didn't really bother us too much but ear plugs are needed if you like us come from a village where you can hear a pin drop all night long. The house is lovely, nice and antique if you like that sort of thing, lots of wood, creaky stairs etc, I loved it. My only feedback for improvement is to provide duvets for extra warmth. I know the US tends not to use duvets like we do in Europe but they are a lot warmer and earlier to use than sheets.Parking is easy behind the law office. It's not a long walk from your car to the house as mentioned in other reviews. It is similar to what we are used to at home as we have a long drive and parking outside of our garden. I'd say it's probably a 30-40 sec walk from the car to the back kitchen door. The house is very warm indeed with force air system. Regarding the open fireplace, remember to open the chimney if you are going to use it! We would definitely consider staying here again in the future.
This was my very first time staying in a home and not a hotel room. We come from Staten Island and my daughter is in Saugerties. Your home was very clean and very warm and welcoming. Everything was as described in listing. We were able to enjoy Christmas as a family. I will definitely stay here again
The location was amazing, walking into town was well worth the bit of noise you get from living in the center of a quaint village. There was a lot of food and shopping and the parking was easy despite the busy area. The house is old but that gives it a lot of character. For its age it was very well maintained and very clean and it is very roomy for large groups. We had everything we needed for our stay. Check in and check out was also very easy.
We have been coming to the NY sheep and wool festival for 4 years in a row. We have stayed with Joseph twice and has been the best ever. The house is very clean, spacious (for 6 adults), and perfect location! Hope we can stay again!
The house is very comfortable, with a good size kitchen, a large formal dining room w/table, and a huge living room. The the bedrooms are clean and the linens provided were very comfortable.
The location is right in downtown and on the main drag, so there is walking access to everything. It does get loud with the motorcycles, sirens, and bar crowd, but it quieted down around 11. There is a train in town that you can occasionally hear.
Overall a lovely place to stay!
We loved â€ïž this house! Very comfortable and got all the things you need. Nice kitchen, very good shower, handy washing machine, chairs to sit outside. Good bedrooms, comfy couch and nice garden.
We loved that you can walk to the shops, cafeâs, supermarket and waterfront in Saugerties.
Saugerties is a beautiful place with so many lovely shops and restaurants.
Joseph was easy to reach and helped us right away when we had a question. We came all the way from Amsterdam- The Netherlands. We found a lot of our Dutch history in this region.
We enjoyed our stay the noise from the street was a little loud Saturday but it was Easter weekend . On the other hand we can walk to everything which was great.
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy & spacious house, perfectly located to restaurants, bookstores, and cafes. My teenagers loved it & so did I - perfect space for us for the week!
We love this big house in Saugerties. Joseph made it so easy to set up our stay. The house is roomy and you feel right at home. There's a large kitchen and dining room table, a spacious living room, comfy bedrooms, a nice yard, easy access to bookstores, shops and eateries right around the corner from the house. It's a short ride to Price Choppers for groceries and it's close to the Thruway too.
The house is lovely! We did some research and discussed the house was built in 1890 over a 130 years old! Which made the stay even more unique for us. The kids loved how big the house was and the multiple bedrooms. It is within walking distance to great shops and a very nice bookstore. There is a distillery right next door. We travel to Saugerties every year for Thanksgiving to be with family and plan to return next year!
