The owner was responsive to all inquiries, and the rental process worked without a hitch. Nonetheless, we were disappointed in the property. We thought it had two bathrooms, but I see the listing is now accurate. The upstairs half was less than convenient, but more importantly it was not ready for guests. We had to clean the toilet with supplies we purchased. There was no hot water or towels, although we brought some up from the lower level. The kitchen was not adequately equipped for three adults: 6 plastic outdoor plates, all plastic drink ware which were mostly tumblers - no wine glasses or cocktail glasses. We received no directions on checkout or trash removal. We also had to call the owner to find out how to heat the place, as it was freezing cold when we entered. The beds were comfortable, which is important and was the highlight of the stay. Ultimately, the accommodations were passable, but the place needs to up its game. The location was perfect for us!

Twin Lakes is a quiet nook in Juneau between downtown and Lemon Creek. Blackerby Ridge, right behind the neighborhood, has breathtaking waterfalls and cliffs that could inspire a novel. Twin Lakes has fishing year round and feeds into Salmon Creek. During the summer children play at the park in Twin Lakes, or walk up and down the paved path that borders both Lakes; during the winter people cross country ski or hike the trail and ice skate the lakes. A very friendly neighborhood, that is kid and pet friendly, somewhere you'd want to grow up or visit in.
Moose Manor sits tucked aside the forest pushing up against Blackerby Ridge, woods untouched by human hands showing decades of undergrowth, moss, blueberries, salmon berries, and all manner of creatures. Sitting at the breakfast nook, or on the deck gives a view of the woodland behind the property that is truly inspirational. Relaxing at the Manor can be a magical experience for a getaway.
