Une vue fantastique sur le château niché au sommet du village et les montagnes au-delà. Informations locales: Velez de Benaudalla est un joli village espagnol traditionnel blanchi à la chaux niché dans les collines des Las Alpujarras. Entouré d'une campagne spectaculaire, Velez est parfaitement situé avec un accès facile à la côte tropicale de la Costa, à la station de ski de la Sierra Nevada et à la belle ville de Grenade où se trouve le magnifique palais de l'Alhambra.

Velez est chargée d'histoire, et vous pouvez vous promener dans les rues anciennes jusqu'au château musulman d'Ulloa du XVIe siècle récemment restauré ou regarder la Casa Jardin Nazari, qui a été inspirée par l'architecture de la Grenade et est généralement considérée comme le plus bel exemple de l'hispano-musulman jardins en Espagne. Il y a aussi quelques aires de jeux / parcs pour divertir les enfants.
Il y a un bon choix de magasins, boulangeries (avec de beaux pains et gâteaux faits maison), des banques, une pharmacie et un cabinet médical. Il existe également de nombreux bars et restaurants espagnols, dont beaucoup proposent gratuitement de délicieuses tapas à chaque tour de boissons!

Environs: Avec plus de 320 jours d'ensoleillement en moyenne chaque année, la région de la Costa Tropical et de Grenade offre une combinaison de la côte accidentée de la Costa Tropical qui longe les rives de la mer Méditerranée avec ses jolies villes côtières sympathiques et les plages, et les villages historiques andalous blancs contrastés nichés dans les collines de la campagne à couper le souffle, le tout avec l'arrière-plan des montagnes de la Sierra Nevada et de la station de ski qui compte 125 pistes de ski. Il y a peu d'endroits au monde où vous pouvez skier le matin et nager dans la mer l'après-midi, ce qui rend la région de Grenade presque unique.

Le palais de l'Alhambra à Grenade avec son architecture et ses jardins étonnants est l'attraction touristique la plus visitée d'Europe, juste derrière le Vatican. Au centre de cette belle ville se trouve un labyrinthe de rues étroites pleines d’atmosphère et bordées de bâtiments qui reflètent l’influence arabe de l’histoire variée de Grenade.

Vols pas chers vers Grenade et Malaga: Cette région est bien desservie par les compagnies aériennes à bas prix. Velez de Benaudalla a un excellent accès autoroutier et est desservi par les aéroports de Grenade (environ 45 minutes), Malaga (environ 1 heure) et Almeria (1 heure et 35 minutes). Easyjet, Jet2 et Ryanair propose des vols pas chers vers Malaga au départ de Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Midlands et Londres. Ryanair vole également vers Malaga depuis Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Dublin, E Midlands, Édimbourg, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool et Stanstead. De nombreuses autres compagnies aériennes desservent Malaga ou Grenade depuis le Royaume-Uni, notamment Iberia, Aer Lingus, British Airways et BMI.

Superb relaxing and quiet break in Velez

Great experience from start to end, property was bigger than expected and in a great location for both cycling and also many other activities and areas we explored over our 2 week stay. If you are after somewhere away from the tourist hotspots and crowds this place is ideal. The property has plenty of space for a family of four or more. The amount of items left by users (replace/leave what you use etc) is great and there is plenty of equipment to make a holiday rental more like a home. We made use of the great location for cycling (early stsets in peak summer!). There is a cycle rental shop local too. Options for eating out are a little limited but as the property was so comfortable we were happy to eat there and make use of the great roof space. Don't visit thinking it's going to be wall to wall tourist activities and bars...we were glad it was the opposite! Parking provision is a bonus, easy enough once you get the hang of the ramp/access in and out. Pool was generally very quiet and used only by a handful of others. Trips to Alhambra/Granada area and cycling up the Pico del Veleta were easily accessible. Highly recommended for a relaxing break. Thanks!

El apartamento está muy limpio, no le falta detalle, muy bien equipado y acogedor. Situado a mitad de camino entre la playa y la capital en un pueblo muy bonito entre montañas. Emilia y sus hijos fueron súper amables para recibirnos. Es para volver.

Great place for a getaway, comfortable

Lovely property, very well accommodated and excellently presented. Very comfortable. It is in an excellent location for visiting the beach or Granada or the Ski Resort or many other beautiful places nearby. Car essential, and if you aren't an experienced driver in Spain the parking is not for the faint-hearted. Would highly recommend and we will be booking again

Excellent location and spacious comfortable lovely apartment even better than the pictures.

We had a wonderful 12 days in Velez and highly recommend both the town and the apartment. The accommodation is spacious, beautifully clean and very well equipped, as are the outside areas and pool. It feels like a tranquil home and garden rather than a tourist accommodation. We really appreciated the owners allowing guests to use things like beach towels, parasols, bbq etc. Balmy evenings on the roof terrace will never be forotten. Velez is perfectly located to enjoy both beaches and mountains within Andalucia, and only an hours easy access to Granada airport. Our highlights included walking in Las Alpujarras, tapas at the various bars in town, beach and delicious seafood at Play Cabria, cycling with road bike hire in the village and visiting the Nazari gardens. It was wonderful enjoying all the daily interactions and experiences in this typical Andalucian village .... the chatter, the smells, the true natural beauty of the area. Thankyou to Janine and Darren and we very much hope to return.

Lovely, well equipped apartment.

Enjoyed a 2 week holiday in Velez de Benaudalla. The apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped with everything you might need, including extras like pool towels, a cool box, beach chairs and parasols. Janine and Darren works on a “use what’s there and replace when it’s gone” basis so we arrived to a fridge with food and toiletries already there. Communication with Janine was very good and our request for an earlier entry was accommodated by Emi who looks after the apartment. The pool area was well maintained and was never too busy, quite often we were the only ones there. We made good use of the 2 roof terraces, it was very pleasant to sit out in the evenings. Velez is a lovely little town with some good restaurants and bars and enough shops to be able to do day to day food shopping. There is a large hypermarket at Motril which is about 20 minutes drive. We would recommend hiring a car to be able to enjoy the area. Numerous beaches are within easy reach as is Granada and the Alhambra (you need to book in advance). We also visited Nerja and the caves, the Jardins Nazari in Velez, Almunecar castle, Aquatropic water park in Almunecar and Aquavelis in Torre del Mar both of which are a great day out (for adults and teenagers alike!). The WiFi wasn’t always good but that didn’t cause too many issues. Would recommend this apartment.

Beautiful Apartment. What you see is what you get!

We have just returned from a week in Velez de Benaudalla and we stayed in this lovely apartment. It more than lived up to our expectations. It is really well equipped, we had everything we needed and it was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. We loved the two roof terraces, we had our morning terrace and then our afternoon terrace. Because the apartment is on three levels it gives a real feeling is space. The shared pool area was immaculate. Underground parking was a bit of a challenge but we managed it. We'd hired a Jeep not knowing what the roads in the area would be like bit will probably go for a smaller car next time. The village is charming and everyone was so friendly. The location is great. Our main reason for our visit to this part of Spain was to visit the Alhambra Palace in Granada and we were not disappointed, it was amazing and so easy to get to. The roads around the area are excellent with stunning views, there is so much to see and Velez is a lovely base to explore the area from but also a lovely place to stay in itself. We will definitely be coming back hopefully for longer next time. Thank you Janine &a Darren

A beautiful spacious apartment

From the minute we arrived we knew we were going to have a perfect week..... and we did! The apartment is spacious and well equipped and the layout was great. We were a family of 5 and we had plenty of space. The 2 terraces were an added bonus and we spent time here relaxing and enjoying the views. There were various tables and chairs and bbq equipment which meant we could enjoy eating out in the evenings too. The apartment was spotless and towels and linen were provided and there was spare of everything. The area was wonderful with so many places we could visit. Thank you To Janine and Darren for all their advise and for answering any questions we had.

Fantastic apartment in an authentic Spanish village location

Stayed here in August 2017, really good communication from Janine and Darren when needed. Apartment is fantastic, very spacious with lots of extras available if you have forgotten something. The pool is wonderful, not busy and with plenty of space. Local bars within walking distance, each time giving a free tapa with a round of drinks. Excellent scenic views afforded from the two terraces available. Good local beaches within twenty minutes driving and Granada is a must. Highly recommended place to stay

Dejlig fin og velekviperet lejlighed, med lækker pool og privat parkeringsplads i kælderen. Det trådløse internet var dog ikke særligt godt. Husk at besøge de lokale gamle Islamiske haver (Jardin Nazari) og små drypstenshuler. Endvidere kan den lokale restaurant Meson Nacimiento varmt anbefales, men kom ikke for sent ( kl. 20-20.30), da der hurtigt bliver booket.

Excellent séjour!

Appartement très propre, confortable et spacieux pour une famille de 4 personnes. Cuisine bien équipée et tous les équipements sont propres et en très bon état. L'immeuble est calme et très bien tenu. Piscine propre, calme et agréable lors des nombreuses journées chaudes.Très bonne situation géographique pour visiter Grenade et aller à la mer sur la Costa del sol. Très bon accueil et communication facile avec le propriétaire. Nous y retournerions sans hésitation!

Fabulous Apartment in a lovely village

We had a fantastic time in Velez de Benaudalla. The village is just over an hour's drive from Malaga airport, but motorway for all but the last 5 mins. The apartments were easy to find and we were met at the entrance by Emi who let us in and showed us around (and helped us park the car in the underground car park!). The apartment was lovely and just as described. Two large bedrooms with plenty of storage space, two clean and well maintained bathrooms, a great kitchen with plenty of appliances (inc. a large fridge/freezer), a comfortable living/dining area and two delightful furnished and peaceful roof terraces (so you always had the choice of sun or shade). The pool area was very nice - well maintained and clean - and never too busy. The kids loved the fountains that came on in the early evening. The underground parking with a lift to the apartment was very handy – particularly for keeping the car cool. Be careful negotiating the entrance/exit when you first arrive as there are couple of tight corners, but you get used to it quite quickly. As far as the village is concerned the highlights were: The Jardin Nazari – beautiful landscaped gardens with caves to explore Meson Nacimiento – a very friendly restaurant which we visited three times in our 10 day stay - eating outdoors by the waterfall. The maze of winding paths/roads around the houses on the side of the hill between the main road and the Castle/football ground. The bars on the main street – our favourite was Los Carmenes. If you pop in before going for a meal, bear in mind that you’ll get tapas every time you order drinks – so you may end up full before you get to the restaurant ! There are number of small supermarkets and a couple of nice bakeries on the main street. There’s also an ‘open all hours’ style shop on a side street near the apartments which is worth a visit just to marvel at how they’ve managed to fit so much stock into such a small space. In the local area there’s: Pampaniera: a picturesque village in the mountains. Worth a visit, but a bit touristy. If the lady in the sweetshop offers you a sweet – ask her what’s in it before you taste it (she claimed they contained cannabis!). Motril: only 10 mins drive away. There’s a huge Al Campo supermarket there. Salobrena and La Herradura: lovely beaches/shops. La Herrradura was very busy with locals at the weekend (and we were a little late arriving) but easy to find parking during the week. Salobrena is slightly large

David & Jeanette Richards  This is the perfect holiday destination if you want both a relaxing holiday and to experience unspoilt Spain. The listing of this apartment was very accurate, the property was very clean, well maintained and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed BBQ's and dining on the roof top terraces. The whole block of apartments are in excellent condition the pool area is superbly maintained. The owners were good to deal with. This area of Spain is beautiful, the scenery is stunning. The area / location is well located for access to the beach and mountains, both being a 10-20 mins drive away. Velez de Benaudalla is a lovely village and   has everything you need in terms of shops / banks /cash machines, and more importantly lovely tapas bars, great for a morning coffee pane tomate (toast and tomatoes) churros and chocolate. Don't quote me on the exact spelling of the following tapas bars, but as you walk towards the fountain in the centre of Velez there is Bar los Angeles on the right; a very traditional Spanish bar, with excellent tapas.There are some typical tapas bars and restaurants in Velez de Benaudalla where they offer a free tapas with every drink ordered. North of the village, there is the “Puente” restaurant situated next to a waterfall . We took a drive to Orgiva and up   into the lower Alpajarras to Pampaniera; both are worth a visit. Modern, spacious apartment in quiet mountain town

Beautifully modern and well appointed villa in a peaceful mountain town. First of all, we had two young kids under 8 but found the two bed apartment (feels more like a villa as over 3 levels) very spacious. The property itself has all mod cons and everything feels new and fresh. Velez itself was nice and typical for the region. I.e not touristy at all but all the better for it. Just about everything in the town closes from 2.3/3pm until about 7.30pm but again if you plan around siesta time you can get everything you need. Plus the locals are very friendly. There is one very good restaurant and several decent tapas bars in town, so while you'll need to go elsewhere if you're into nightlife it serves most needs. Big plus for the town is how near it is to either Granada (worth visiting for the Alhambra) and the beach towns. If visiting in the summer strongly suggest going to beaches as they are only 25 mins away by car. The climate much more temperate on the coast as we found going out and about with the kids during the day in Velez just hot for them. Good air con in the property however, so no issues there. A point to consider for anyone with kids is that the communal pool area is for residents. This means quite rightly there are very strict rules for use (I.e forget your kids taking inflatables in there etc and there aren't sun loungers if you're into sunbathing - you use your own terraces - there are two). So be aware, while our kids loved the pool for swimming, they couldn't jump in and splash about with water pistols like you could with a private pool. Plus the pool is closed during 'sleepy time' between 3pm and 5pm. Again, we just planned activities around it. Overall, the property was very nice, incredibly clean and extremely good value. Highly recommended.

A wonderful stay in a gorgeous Townhouse.

My young family and I travelled to Velez in June 2016. All communication and advice prior to our holiday was seamless, we were given accurate directions and details of who would be meeting us at the Townhouse. The location of the property is fantastic. The village of Velez is very accessible however gives a feel of being in rural Spain within an authentic Andalucian village. There are a number of bars in the village where we visited for drinks and breakfasts. We even used the playpark in the village to occupy our little ones for a short while. We visited the coast on a few occasions which was around a 20 minute drive. We also found a local river to paddle in, our kids loved this. The area had numerous picnic benches for those staying for the day. The townhouse itself was immaculate, we were also surprised at just how spacious the rooms and living areas were. On the ground floor is a master with gorgeous en suite. The middle floor has kitchen and lounge in addition to the other spacious bedroom and bathroom with shower. This townhouse has 2 terraces and plenty of furniture/sunbeds. The views around the village and landscape beyond were incredible. There is a communal pool which was very quiet during our stay. It was perfect to cool off and very clean. The owners of this complex obviously take great care of their homes and communal living areas. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and we have ranted to our family and friends over and over. We would love to return again, without question. Thanks once again for the perfect summer break.

Beautiful apartment and fantastic holiday !

What a beautiful place ! Everything was provided to create an ideal holiday destination. The apartment was kitted out with everything we needed, and we spent many lazy evenings grilling on the stylish balcony, watching the sun disappear over the hills and castle. The apartment is situated perfectly for days on the beach (only 10 or 15 mins drive) , or trips to Sierra Nevada or Granada (a must !). The village has good amenities with a small supermarket and a few Tapas bars and restaurants. The walk to the castle or the gardens was a great way to spend the warm early evenings - followed by a glass of vino at a bar. We had great fun! All told this was an excellent stay. The owners were extremely helpful providing both essential information and great tips to make our stay enjoyable. It really is a home away from home . Just perfect !!!

Beautiful Accomodation

We were 2 families consisting of 2 adults and 3 children who stayed at this beautiful apartment. We were met on arrival with the keys and just loved the accomodation. 2 very spacious bedrooms, 1 en suite and the other is located next to the bathroom. The apartment was furnished beautifully and was equiped with everything you need. Lots of space so you don.t feel on top of each other. The outdoor roof terrace space is fantastic, great for eating dinner and the views are wonderful. The pool area is lovely, the only comment I would make is that we had 3 young boys in tow ( 2, 10 year olds and a 7 year old) and naturally they want to jump and splash into the pool. There are fairly strict rules around the pool and quite a few Spanish residents made it clear that they don't like noise from the pool area. It was easily resolved as we had hired a car so we went to a different beach everyday. The nearby village is lovely with a few great restaurants. You definitely need a car to get around. The owners have been extremely helpful and I would definitely return and recommend the apartment for a great holiday.

Stylish comfort in a beautiful part of Spain

Enjoyed a lovely week away in Velez, thank you Janine and Darren. The apartment is ideally situated to explore this beautiful and picturesque part of Spain. The apartment is within a small and well maintained complex that lends itself to a peaceful holiday, Within the apartment there is everything that you need for a comfortable and easy 'home from home' self-catering holiday. The choice of 2 roof top terraces provides you with the ideal place to dine Al-fresco at any time of the day, definitely an added bonus. A great place for those looking for a holiday in a traditional Spanish village that has easy access to both in-land and coastal Spain. Heather .J

A clean and spacious holidayhome

We had a very pleasant stay at Velez. In real it was just as written in the brochure on internet. Large kitchen and two terasses with a splendid view over the mountains. The beds are good, the apartment is clean, the village is pleasant. Afterall we lived there 3 weeks and never get bored. I can recommand it to anyone. WiFi was sometimes a bit slow, but: "when WiFi fails, you can always talk to each other, it's also free". Big chance we will come back. If you enjoy Spain you will love this!

This is the perfect location if you want to enjoy the real Spain but still be close to lovely beaches and bars. The apartment is spacious and very clean with great amenities. There are two roof terraces that look out over the tranquil village of Velez de Benaudalla with a beautiful Jardin Nazari (gardens). There are lovely walks around the gardens with an amazing variety of plants and natural limestone cave formations. The villagers are friendly and there are many local bars and restaurants for drinks and Tapas. The beach at Salobrena in 15 minutes drive away and has a fantastic selection of restaurants that will cater for everyone’s tastes. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this apartment, you will love it!!

A home away from home!

The apartment was very spacious, clean and modern. We felt very at home and had everything a family could possibly need. The apartment has 3 levels including a roof top terrace with a lovely view. Velez is a very pleasant small town with bakeries, shops and cafes within walking distance. There is plenty to do in the area - beaches, driving tours through the mountains, and visiting the surrounding towns. The pool was very clean and surprisingly, even open even in May. Would definitely return and recommend this as a great place to stay to family and friends.

Nous avons passé 15 jours dans cet appartement très confortable, très propre, bien équipé et décoré avec goût. Accueil par Emi, la femme de ménage qui parle un peu français. La terrasse est bien agréable. Le village de Vélez est joli et se situe à 35 minutes de Grenade et 15 minutes de la plage en voiture. 2h40 de Cordoue. Contact très facile avec la propriétaire très réglo (contrat rédigé). Par honnêteté, il faut signaler un point noir: le voisinage! La voisine d'en face enferme ses chiens sur sa terrasse et ils ont passé les 15 jours à aboyer et parfois une bonne partie de la nuit. Boules Quies conseillées, les fenêtres sont très peu isolantes!

Excellent apartment in a traditional Spanish Town

very well appointed apartment in a convenient location with access to the beautiful Sierra Nevada, and a short drive from the Mediterranean. the spacious apartment was beautifully kept and within easy walking distance of several good local facilities. You need a car to make the most of this location and to explore the beauties of this region. We enjoyed dining out on the roof terrace after a busy day looking over the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. Ideal if you want to get away from it all but still want your home comforts and access to traditional holiday activities.

Great weeks holiday

Stayed at this lovely apartment for 1 week at the end of June. Everything excellent - facilities in the apartment great, spotlessly clean, spacious and the added bonus of 2 roof top terraces in which to relax by day or night. Village ideally placed to explore the coastline or to venture further inland. Owners gave great service and advice. Hope to be back sometime soon. We bought this property when the boys were toddlers and thought it was an ideal destination for families. The apartment complex is well built and maintained to a high standard. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, the weather is fantastic and we can use it year round as a base for both a beach holiday and ski holiday, as well as both combined!!

We are often told that our apartment is stylish, comfortable and well equipped. A home away from home. We offer our guests to help themselves to basic provisions in the apartment (eg tea, coffee, wine, beer, washing up liquid, toilet rolls, etc., etc.) and all we ask of them is to simply replace what they use ready for our next guests.
The views from the lounge and terrace are stunning, the village is pretty and quaint, the locals are friendly and the tapas which many of the local bars serve free of charge is amazing! You will love it!
