Apt was great. Access limited by one key fob which is needed to go to pool And hot tub which werenât heated for most of the stay and appeared dirty. Some basic kitchen items missing like baking sheet, Tupperware.
Great place. It has a good-sized kitchen and dining area, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. It has all the basic amenities you'd need for a multi-day stay, a coffee shop on the ground floor, and is decently close to downtown. Doesn't have its own parking, so you have to pay for parking, but there are several lots within walking distance. It is near the arena, which will make driving and parking challenging during events, so be aware. You'll also hear the sirens of emergency vehicles in the area, not very loud, but definitely audible. In all, a nice place though.
The negatives: You get one key fob. Canât go anywhere without it. If you donât have the fob you canât go the pool/gym/elevator. Your party best stick together at all times or someone is bound to become bothered. We arrived early assuming we could store our luggage and hang out at the pool until the oddly late 4pm check in. We were physically escorted away from the pool as we didnât have the key fob. The security guard actually threatened to call police on us. Not the best start to our stay. Then finally upon getting into the unit at around 4:20, we realize one of the 3 bedrooms has two twin beds which is NOT as things are advertised in the photos. Lastly, one toilet did not work. Positives: pool and gym are nice when you arenât being threatened. Location is not too far from downtown Brickell. Nice views from unit. AC works well. Good water pressure. I probably wouldnât stay there again but it served its purpose. Canât get over the one key fob thing for a 3BR unit.
The property had a great location. It is half a block from the Bayside market. It is right next to a Metromover station which we used to travel to the Brickell District. A great stop for those who haven't been there. The view is pretty spectacular. The Alea is a rental apartment building. Residents seem to be a younger crowd. Not a problem for us. It is right next to Miami Dade College. Pets are permitted. You'll see a lot of them.We felt the apartment needed more furniture and accessories. The furnishings are pretty basic. There were no supplies in the kitchen which we found unusual. A roll of paper towels but not even salt and pepper shakers. If you plan to do any cooking you need to provide all of your cooking supplies. Bath towels were provided but there were no hand towels available. All told it was a good stay, primarily because of the location and view.
The worst rental experience I've ever had. Property was not as advertised! We were on a completely lower level then what we paid for. Host was not welcoming and had poor communications. VRBO support was no help at all. Host also doesn't treat his clients with respect. Furniture was outdated and was not like the pictures at all. The appliances were broken and were not fixed before our arrival. Toilet flush did not work had to call out Tech. Refrigerator was door seal was loose. Dark streaks around the wall. Unpleasant experience. Host threatened to kick us out because of our complaints. Very unprofessional.
