Nice views

Not bad but needs improvement. Overpriced, needs a new hob so it doesn't take around two hours to boil an egg. Dogs liked it. Would currently give it somewhere between two and three stars but with effort it could be much better.

Réponse du propriétaire: We are very sorry to hear that you feel we need to make more effort for you to have enjoyed your stay. We go out of our way to provide good holidays for our guests and all of our guests have been very complimentary about their stay. We feel this comment is not fully reflective of our efforts as we did respond to many of your requests very quickly as both the housekeeper and my husband did visit straight away to meet your requests which included a change of a light bulb for you on a saturday evening. We were happy to do so as and managed to get the housekeeper to site within a hour of your getting into contact with me on a Saturday evening. For any future guests who may be reading this review we do leave replacement bulbs in the cupboard as sometimes light bulbs fail mid stay. If we had known that you felt the hob was taking too long to heat we could have checked the hob for you. Nobody else has had this problem subsequently, we will still check why this may have been a problem for you. If there is a problem we will replace the hob. I have recently noticed that the silver freezer in the store room despite working fine has rust spots and we are looking to replace this shortly. If guests mention such matters to us we do look into this and deal with any issue as soon as practicably possible. We have never received a poor review before from any of our prior Beach House guests (since 2009). When we have received a comment such as the previous sofa not being comfortable we did replace it as soon as we could. This was noted when that guest returned and stayed again. Also, all of the guests who have stayed after you this summer have loved the house and are looking to return and stay with us again. "Not bad" to us is not acceptable as we look to provide a "great","lovely" or "wonderful" stay for our guests who typically say that the house is very special. We are however glad that you felt you did have nice views. The absolute beachfront location that will always have an associated higher value as it did when we purchased the house. Typically guests appreciate this when they make the decision to stay. In addition not all of your fee comes to us now. The new Service fee and your security deposit is now taken by HomeAway and this change took place subsequent to us setting our peak summer rates for this season , (which have been the same since 2010). We are reviewing this and also whether this will mean we are not providing good value to our guests.

stunning views X beautiful walks X able to be just you.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the beach house Lelant . It was absolutely perfect, waking up to beautiful views, out of bed onto the beach for a beautiful morning walk before breakfast . Beautiful hikes along the cliff top to Carbis Bay or St Ives . Everyday just walking along unspoilt beaches , glimpsing the seals as you waked along, watching the changing tides as they came into the estuary. If you wanted to go further a field there were local buses and a quaint train line that you can hop on to take you up and down the coast . But for me I was just happy being me taking in the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounded me all week, we even had a first class storm one night to just watch X amazing. The beach house had everything you needed to be cosy warm and happy. If you are looking for a get away from it all break then look no further than this X Paul and Linda X ps I have never seen such happy dogs running around on Lelant Beach 😀😀 ❤️

Couldn't Ask For A Better Location

We stayed here for a week in August 16 and just loved it. Before we arrived the instructions on how to get there, where to park and what to do all arrived in Giod time and made perfect sense so we had no trouble settling in.

The house is well equipped with good wifi and the welcome pack left for us made a good touch. The house was very clean and well presented, and while the furniture selection was a bit random it was all comfortable and fit for purpose.

Having a place so close to the beach (literally on the beach) was great for me and the children and we spent our whole week enjoying the space on offer. The secluded garden and BBQ were well used for outdoor dining and we made the most of being so close to the beach to picnic on the steps and watch the world go by in between sand fort construction.

The beaches in the area are spectacular but the only downside of the whole week was the scar irresponsible dog owners left in their wake, despite their being plenty of provisions made for them.

We loved our time at the house, the admin of booking was made very easy and it's a lovely part of the world to relax and unwind, so overall I'd highly recommend it.

Beautiful cottage on an idyllic Cornish beach

6 of us spent a happy, relaxing and extremely comfortable week in the Beach House, and we couldn't have asked for more. The house was spotless, beds comfortable with fresh cotton bedlinen and there was lots of hot water for baths and showers - a must after a busy day of golfing, walking along the cliffs, exploring Cornwall or even doing absolutely nothing except admiring the views over the beach and the sea. Perfect! The kitchen is very well equipped and we arrived to find essential supplies ready for us, and contact numbers on the black board in case we had any queries. Nicola and Myles brought us delicious local champagne to try plus freshly baked saffron bread and biscuits. What spoiling! We parked either by the church and walked down across the golf course which was perfectly simple, or on the quay which meant a 5 minute approx. walk over the beach to the house. Thank you, Nicola, for emailing us the parking permits as this meant that our cars were safely identified. Thank you too for recommending great restaurants to us, we ate some wonderful local food so have returned home somewhat heavier than when we set out. It was a marvellous holiday and we would recommend the Beach House to future guests. We hope to visit again, soon.

Sorry but to avoid any confusion may I just point out that this guest stayed in the Beach Bungalow (property 444012) which is a 4 bedroom house rather than the Beach House which is a two bedroom house and sleeps 5 at a maximum.

Great stay year after year

Arriving at the Beach House is always a joy. We were welcomed with local produce and a welcome message from the owners. The place couldn't not be any closer to the beach. We have been lucky with fantasic wether each time we have stayed and also the beach isn't sign posted, so you almost get the miles of sand to yourself. See you again in October.

I Want To Live Here!!

The Beach House at Lelant is extraordinary. Okay it is a certainly bijou, you might even go so far as saying it is small on the inside. It does havt though everything you need for a hoilday, good kitchen, comfy beds, an amazing view! Perhaps a more comfy sofa might have been nice. It was beuatifully clean and when the TV broke down it was replaced in hours. It also, amazingly, has superfast broadband, which was great for loads of things.

However who needs an inside when you need only take a very few steps and be on the beach, then wander round the corner to a huge expanse of sand, often empty, that seems to go on for miles.

People often say that the light around St Ives Bay is special, the light is amazing!! The water is azure and surprisingly calm. Myself, wife and our 12 year old twins enjoyed swimming in safe, supervised by lifeguard, waters, with fish jumping only jards away from us an the gentle breakers.

I shouldn't really be writing this, because I want to book up for next summer, so I want to make sure there is space. I'd also love to find the time to visit in spring and autumn too.

I'd live to say that I couldn't fault the experience, but there will always be a couple of things that some people will want. So if you do want to park your car outside your house, need street lamps to walk in the dark, require a cafe on the beach, a shop within walking distance, then this house is not for you!!!

In reality it is a 5 minute walk to your car; a 10-15mins to the pub, 25mins to a great deli and cafe. 20 mins to the train station for a day trip into St Ives. Some people may not want to do this walking business, fine go somewhere else and let those that do book the house instead.

Thank you for a delightful visit, we will be back.
