We came to Canon City with 2 families (4 adults and 3 kids) and this house was perfect for us. One of our group had mobility issues, so the 1st floor bedroom (rare find) in this house was very important. Lots of living spaces from the living room to the deck and spacious garden, the little office area, the upstairs gameroom and the kitchen bar where all used and appreciated by all.Excellent location that allows you to walk to main street and a quick 5 minute drive to anywhere in town.Super hosts that were very responsive to our questions (not that we had many).I would strongly recommend visiting Canon City and the area and staying at the Art Deco House!
Excellent stay!! Great communication and easy check in process. Comfortable beds with full kitchen and all amenities you need! The appliances were new as well as the washer and dryer came in handy. The hot tub as a nice bonus. Even had 2 neighborhood deer walking up and down the road regularly. Close to restaurants and activities. I highly recommend this place!
Nice house with cute details. Easy walk to downtown and several parks. We had a 3 weeks stay and really enjoyed it. Lots of space - 8 separate beds in 3 bedrooms! There are 2 units in this property, we had the main and upper level. The AC has trouble keeping up in the heat of summer, but we stayed comfortable!
This is a beautiful home, but it needs A LOT of attention. The hot tub doesn't work, and cover cannot be secured because all latches are broken. The gym equipment doesn't work, smoke detector hanging from ceiling in master, toaster doesn't work. Could sleep 10 and has 1 hair dryer. Not enough silverware. Bedside lamps in kids room don't work. Need a non-slip mat in downstairs shower, very slippery. This was a very expensive property for all of the issues it has.
We loved this house! It's charmingly decorated, cuter even than in the photos and loved all the bells and whistles - hot tub, foosball, books and games. Nice amenities, especially in the bathrooms. Also loved the location - we walked to the river walk, railroad and prison museum, and to dinner and the grocery store. I hope we have a reason to return to Canon City so we can stay here again!
It was a very lovely home in a convenient location for our stay. We really enjoyed the mix of vintage Art Deco style and modern amenities the house provided. The host provided almost everything we needed and was quick to respond if we reached out. My only complaint was that it seemed like the house was not thoroughly cleaned from the previous guests as there was an empty 2 liter Coca Cola bottle left in the master closet, the coffee maker water reservoir had some slimy mold on the lid, and the stove had grease residue on the handles and pot filler. We also used the hot tub on our last night and didn't realize until the jets stopped that the water was NOT clean. There were chunks of stuff floating around which was not very pleasant. For having to pay a 200 cleaning fee, we just expected it to be more thoroughly cleaned. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay!
We are from Colorado and love exploring all over our local lands and abroad - from skiing and kayaking to total cultural immersion, we don't sit still! Hosting, for us, is our way of sharing our favorite towns and family homes with others to enjoy when we aren't there ourselves with our own kids.
Emily grew up in Colorado Springs and spent many summers day tripping to Cañon City. Seeing the area slowly evolve over the decades while maintain its small town charm has been a joy that she wanted to share with our kids. We chose Greenwood Ave for our home because of the ability to walk to Main Street and enjoy the near-daily deer visitors peeking in through the windows.
You will take one look at this brick tudor house and know it is one of a kind! There is none other like it in all of Cañon City, or anywhere else. We worked hard to maintain its original 1930s character (even keeping the original main floor bathroom fixtures!) when remodeling it in 2024. Every inch of design and decor was thoughtfully selected to enrich the luxe Art Decor vibe while keeping an air of modern sophistication.
