Notre chalet rustique, niché sur une colline à 8100 pieds d'altitude, donne sur une vallée à la Sangre de Cristo gamme spectaculaire de montagne 14.000 pieds, dans les montagnes Rocheuses du Colorado. Situé à 35 minutes sur le bien entretenus routes de montagne de gravier de Canon City. Plusieurs nouveaux lits (mai 2014 ils ont été achetés), faisant tous les lits dans la cabine confortable !!! Kicking retour sur le pont avant, vous avez une vue panoramique sur les montagnes sur trois côtés. Et, assis sur un terrain boisé de 11 acres privée, vous avez la paix, calme et l'isolement - votre voisin le plus proche est à 400 verges. La grande salle à manger confortable / cuisine est l'endroit idéal pour toute la famille - une cheminée à gaz, des canapés confortables autour d'une table de jeu, et une cuisine entièrement équipée. Les trois chambres peuvent accueillir six confortablement, avec un espace pour 2 plus si vous utilisez le canapé pour 1 et 1 canapé lit, et des sacs de couchage dans les chambres. Juste quelques minutes de la forêt nationale de San Isabel, vous avez accès à Buffalo Peaks, Collegiate Peaks, Mount Massive, Sangre de Christo et les sommets espagnols aires de nature sauvage. Fantastique rafting et de tubes, ou pêche à la mouche passionnant vous attendent sur la rivière Arkansas, à 30 minutes de route de la cabine. Vous pouvez faire du vélo de montagne à droite par la porte avant, vélo quelques minutes sur la route, ou d'explorer un chemin coupe-feu dans les montagnes humides pendant des heures. Si vous êtes plus d'un fan de VTT, cette région du Colorado est chargé avec quelques-uns des meilleurs sentiers avec les plus belles vues. Great Weekend Getaway

We stayed here for a weekend family getaway. Great location, secluded, beautiful views and start gazing. We were met by deer out front our first morning, sadly they did not appear too fearful of people so letting our dog outside was a little tough. Overall a great place for any nature lover.

Winter Break

We stayed 2 nights on our way to Aspen. The cabin is spacious and comfortable. We especially loved the porch and sauna. If this cabin is one of your options, you won’t be disappointed.

Great stay.

We go to Colorado every year. This year we couldn’t stay with my mom, because her new home wasn’t complete in time. We wanted something off the beaten path, and this fit the bill exactly. Beware though if you value cell service, but the WiFi helped alot. The owner was receptive to all of my questions. Overall it was a great stay. The view was amazing.

Relaxing and great view

Everything was as shown in the website. Cabin was very comfortable and relaxing. Kitchen and living room space was very nice to cook our own meals and sit and talk. Only issue was a dead mouse in the toilet one morning.

Family Getaway

This VRBO was nice. The cabin itself was clean and had all the necessities. Definately print the directions beforehand because service is spotty at best. The sauna was great & the owner was very nice and pretty responsive. It was not as secluded as I thought it would be as there are neighbor's close enough to hear. But for the most part it was a nice relaxing weekend with nice sights and wildlife.

Amazing cabin

I'm a born and raised Houstonian so we were fairly concerned about the lack of AC. Temperatures in Canon City were hitting 102 degrees but the temperatures were never a concern at the cabin. Even at the end of July we the temp was dropping into the 60's by the end of the day and we slept comfortably in this clean and spacious home. The living/dinning area was bigger than it looked in the pictures and was inviting and restful while the kitchen was supplied with everything needed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also clean and comfortable. I was looking for a location that would be dark at night so we could enjoy the stars and this cabin fit the bill perfectly. We stayed up every night to enjoy the sunset and the night sky. The wildlife was certainly a bonus as well. We saw 3-4 deer within an hour of arriving and plenty of humming birds and rabbits as well. The cabin is a beautiful home in a beautiful location and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Family get away

Overall the property is fine-no air conditioning though so it was stuffy at night as the temps were in 90's. Could use some deep cleaning and updates. The owner/manager does not reply to questions very quickly via email--still waiting on reply about bringing a pet--we didn't because it says they are "considered" so we asked--no reply--no pet brought. Location is remote--it will take you every minute of the 45 it says it is from Canon city. I have dealt with home away many times and always a good experience - just a little disappointed from the lack of response. This was a short family vaca so we enjoyed spending time together anyway!!

Lacking and dirty

We stayed at this cabin in September. It was WAY off the beaten path on VERY rough roads. Going anywhere was a major production and because of the roads we had to be back before it got dark so our trips were limited. The refrigerator was broken and the property manager who lives at the end of the road could not be bothered to come up and do anything about it. His suggestion was he would bring a cooler and we could fill it with ice to store our food. There were rolling balls of dog hair behind the couch, mouse droppings in the pots and pans, the couch cushions had not been removed to clean underneath them in ages based on all that was under them. Dirty socks, food, etc. The carpeting was filthy and they put down so much powder to try and mask the smells that it was suffocating. Ripped screens, broken patio chairs, etc. There was no wifi signal or cell phone service. The HALF bath had a toilet in a room but the sink was in a box so it was not truly a half bath. The Games did not have all the pieces, the cards were not a full deck, I could go on and on. The price was right but you get what you pay for.

Mountain Getaway

My wife and I needed to get away for a weekend and found this place and booked it. The instructions were great but we really didn't use it. My wife put in the address in her phone while we were in town and GPS took us right to this place. Helpful Hint: Make sure you put in the address while you still have a good cell service. It was nice being away in the peacefulness of the mountains and forest with views that make this place worth while and the stars were spectacular. Overall, this place was exactly what we needed for our weekend trip.

A week with friends away from Midwest heat.

We had a slight hiccup with the cabin on night one. The host tried her best to fix the issue. This paved the way to having a great week in the mountains. Great affordable place to get away.

Worth the drive

Family and I stayed here over the Memorial Weekend. I picked the location because it was near the Royal Gorge (a site we had tried to visit in 2013 when we were evacuated due to the fire) and because it had gorgeous views. The view was, indeed gorgeous and we enjoyed the remote location. It is a rustic cabin but had all the necessary Kitchen, Bath and Bed items. The beds were comfortable. I did, however, underestimate the drive from Canon City. There was approx 13 miles of dirt road with multiple switchbacks and drop offs without guardrails. The road was well maintained and for those accustomed to mountain roads not overly concerning. Just be sure to bring in everything you need (no quick trips to the grocery store) and allow 40-50 minutes to get down to Canon City. I would rent this cabin again but next time plan to spend the entire time in and near the cabin investigating the numerous trails off the road up.

Feels like home

Loved the deck views and the heated floors in bathroom. The home felt like home. The silverware reminded me of the ones we used in the mountains growing up. Happy with our stay would stay again.

Cozy Cabin

We immensely enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very peaceful. The cabin is well stocked with kitchen supplies for cooking and the new bathroom is lovely. We enjoyed watching the snow through the beautiful picture windows. We had a little difficulty getting the gas fireplace started, but the owner was quick to respond to our questions. I highly recommend traveling to the cabin in the winter months from Westcliffe instead of Canon City. Coming over the mountain can get a little scary when it’s icy.

Magical Christmas Stay

Stayed at this cabin with some family to enjoy the Christmas holiday together. I couldn't have been more pleased with the beautiful cabin full of amenities. We had a brief struggle lighting the fireplace, however, the property manager and the owner were incredibly responsive and helped us get it going. This is a must-stay for large families!

We are a family currently living on both sides of the Atlantic. We have lived in Boston, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Denver. But our favorite place in the world is the Sangre de Cristo and Wet Mountain range in southcentral Colorado. We are 'outdoor people' - love to hike with our dogs, take beautiful photos of nature, canoe on a lake or river, cross-country ski through a forest. And at the end of the day, take the time to cook a gourmet meal together and enjoy a nice glass of wine. We are also voracious readers and love board games.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The cabin was love at first sight. We are not Club Med or Hilton Hotel people. But we are nature/peace and quiet people. This rustic log cabin was barely visible from the road, hidden by pines, nestled into the side of a hill. It sits up higher than all of the other properties around it. With huge windows on three sides of the Great Room, you have commanding views of Locke Mountain/San Isabel National Forest and the Sangre de Cristos. We also value 'quiet' - living in, or near, a large city for most of our lives, it is nice to be in at a place where you actually hear nothing but the gentle breeze through the pinion pines, an occasion bird chirping, the braying of the neighbors donkey. Often, ou hear nothing at all. A car passes maybe once or twice an hour - and even then, it is 400 yards away, and down a hill. We chose this cabin as a perfect get-away for ourselves, never thinking that we would rent it out to others. The only reason we are not in Denver now enjoying our cabin is because of job opportunities abroad in Sweden. This cabin is perfect year-round (provided you have a good 4-wheel drive vehicle in the snowy months, or chains on your tires).

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

For nature-lovers, hunters and fly-fishermen on the Arkansas River (17 miles from the property) peaceful and majestic mountain views. Sauna, Relaxing , away from all noise, cooking and enjoying friends on the deck. Simple with no distractions, yet having everything you need - a full bath, fully equipped kitchen, well-appointed great room and three bedrooms. Because our 11 acres is fairly secluded, you can even enjoy skeet and target shooting on the Northeast corner of the property. We are only 500 yards across a valley from the San Isabel National forest. We are a 20 minute drive to the quaint town of Westcliffe with some great restaurants and great for art enthusiasts and shopping.
