Cette maison au bord de l'eau est située sur une pelouse luxuriante avec une pente facile vers un quai personnalisé. De beaux jardins abondent.

Qui est partant pour un concours de saut de boulet de canon? Passez la journée sur le quai, pratiquez vos sauts, nagez ou pêchez. Notre quai stationnaire et notre quai flottant offrent plusieurs zones pour s'amuser au soleil. Le quai flottant facilite l'accostage de votre bateau.

Vous préférez peut-être l'ombre. Détendez-vous sur la terrasse couverte ou sur la balançoire du porche pour terminer votre roman préféré.

Family getaway

Beautiful property on the lake. So cozy and warm and comfortable. My teens enjoyed fishing off the dock. Will come back again.

Cozy retreat

Mother daughter weekend. Despite the first night having to stay in a hotel because there was no power, the rest of the weekend was delightful. The house is tucked away and beautifully situated on SML. House is roomy with all accommodations needed; just like home.

Great location with easy walk to water

I used this property for my employee appreciation trip and it was perfect. We had a group of eight and it was a great location on the water with a very easy walk down to the dock. Check-in was easy. Texting with the host was easy. The house had a welcoming grandparents home atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Family Trip

My family and I have been coming to SML for 15 years now. We love it! We had such a great time at The Bower House. It had everything we needed and more. Great location. We will definitely stay here again.

Back for the 9th time

As always, the Bower House provided such a wonderful trip for our family. We've been coming here since our kids were little and this year, we're sending our oldest to college. A cozy space with enough bedrooms for everyone tucked in the perfect alcove of the lake. We can't wait to go back next year!

It was ok

NO water pressure!! Couldn’t get all the shampoo out of my hair. Fitted sheets too small kept coming off the bed. Grease trap in grill was full, caught on fire. Door know in bathroom was broken and I was locked in. All appliances were very dated. Very spacious, beds were comfortable, nice dock and clean bathrooms. AC very loud, water filtration system VERY loud. Nice short walk to the dock. After driving 20 min. To take our trash to the dump it was closed, no times were listed on the information. So we have to take it home with us and go to the dump here. We have trash pick up at our home but not until later in the week. We had fun, but will not recommend or stay again unless there are significant up dates done.

Smith Mtn. Lake

Our family had a wonderful time staying at this property. It had all the amenities that we would need. The kids enjoy kayaking and swimming at the dock. We also enjoyed the sunset views and the balcony . Their is so much to do at the lake. We definitely recommend this property for all it has to offer.

A Good find at a reasonable price

We enjoyed our yearly week at the lake with all of our family. We had plenty of room in the house for all of us. The location has an “out of the way” feel, but is only 5 minutes to the bridge by boat and 15 to the grocery store by car. Definitely a good week.

Perfect Family Vacation

The Bower House had everything to ensure a great family vacation...fully equipped kitchen, cleanliness, beautiful dock/swimming area, all kinds of water equipment in the boathouse, and an easy walk to the water. April was very prompt in answering questions. It was a perfect vacation!

Company getaway

I like to treat the staff and their spouses to a weekend getaway once a year. This was the ideal house. Ample seating both upstairs and downstairs. Both porches were also well equipped with outside furniture. The house was very clean and the kitchen had everything. We will be booking again for next year.

Peaceful and charming

My family of 7 were here for 2 days to attend a wedding in Vinton. I wish we had more time to stay longer and enjoy this lovely home on the lake. It was comfortable and roomy. Everything we needed was there. The downside was having to be out by 10:00 A.M. while having to launder the towels before leaving. Also having to dispose the trash at an off site location. But I would still love to come back.

Beautiful view but little else to do

We did a girls weekend with my daughters and toddler granddaughters. The view was lovely and would be perfect for people that just want to relax, read and sip wine. However, with small kids there was nothing near by to do. The nearest playground was about 1/2 hour away. Even hiking was about 1/2 hour drive away. We did not see any stores or nice restaurants. The place was very clean but the furnishing were dated. The kitchen had plenty of plates, glasses and utensils. However, you need to be aware that for preparing meals, you must bring your own food, including basic pantry items. There was no cooking spray, oil, spices, sugar or flour. Also you must take your trash with you to the dump. I would consider staying again with just older adults who are looking to just relax and appreciate the view and making sure we pack all our provisions.

This was our 2nd vacation stay at this property. As always it was and is a great experience. The weather was perfect we did have 1 day of rain in the morning but that was okay we rested up till it blew away and back on the water we went.

Pros/Cons...

PROS: Great, well kept house. Kitchen fully stocked for many guests. Two and a half bathrooms for 8 adults. Water heater never ran out of hot water. Upper and lower covered decks for sitting out anytime to take in the view of the lake. Plenty of outdoor seating. Very short and easy walk to the dock with all it's amenities. Dining area seats 6 comfortably for meals with plenty of tables and chairs on the upper covered deck for overflow seating for meals. Spacious bedrooms that sleeps 8 comfortably. Very nice family room area in the lower level for watching movies, putting together puzzles, or playing games on a rainy day. Undoubtedly a GREAT house to stay in. CONS: bathroom towels are hotel room quality. Could use an upgrade. Beds are old and uncomfortable. They need to be replaced. No trash service. You have to haul the trash to a dump site 20 minutes away a couple times a week. I would pay extra in the fee for trach service. Lower level bedroom has the water filtration system in the closet that goes off in the middle of the night. Be prepared to be woken up for at least 40 minutes while the system goes through it's process. (We specifically asked to have the filtration system timer set to go off during the day and we received confirmation that this was resolved and for two nights we had to listen to the system flushing for 40 minutes). Check the dishes before using. Some dishes were not cleaned properly before being put away from the last group staying at the property.

8th Annual Trip

My family and I stay at the Bower House every year. The location on the lake is excellent and the house is spacious and cozy without being fussy. we love dinners on the covered porch and evenings on the dock.
