We had a weekend trip to the property that ended up being lovely but had a lot of problems along the way. The property owner provided check-in info tk wrong property. Eventually property manager got us into correct property. Overall, property was not very clean. Trash was overflowing including some left in front yard. Several dishes dirty, found spent joint in coffee mug, and someone's socks in bedroom. Great location but needs some attention.
My friends and I stayed at this adorable and HUGE home in this lovely condo complex to spend the weekend at Ski Butternut which was only like 10 minutes away. The host even left us 2 bottles of wine! It had FIVE bathrooms which is unheard of, like anywhere, and the beds were the fancy adjustable kinds. TVs and cable in every bedroom. The fireplace was so luxurious. When the living room TV was giving us some connection issues I think it was a total of like 7 minutes to contact the host/co-host and a technician came over and gave us a Roku stick with every app we could want. We didn't do MUCH TV watching, but being able to relax with a movie night our first night was great! Howie is a kind, funny, calm, and very accommodating host. I would book his property again!
The house itself is roomy, with two bedrooms and baths on either end of the main spaces, which works well and affords privacy. The interior was clean, but my husband spent an hour when we arrived sweeping the deck and brushing off the furniture. A derelict wicker swing had to be moved away as it was unsightly and not safe for children.Overall, the information sent by the host was incomplete or inaccurate. The pool(s) mentioned in the listing are part of the condo development, not on the property. There is a cumbersome (and unmentioned) process to go through to gain access, which was only completed--with the help of property manager Rick--on the next-to-last day of our stay. There was no rowboat: we learned that it had been stolen. And the canoes and kayaks were not marked as noted in the info sheet. Rick sent photos after I texted, but we were on to other things. There is a grill, but it is rusted out and only one burner works. The kitchen is new but lacks things like wine glasses and Tupperware-type storage containers.Supplies like paper towels and toilet paper were minimal. We had to buy some--and laundry detergent.Overall, we were frustrated with the lack of communication with the host. Though invited in the info to contact him about toddler items available, my daughter never heard back. Under "Swimming" beaches are mentioned, but there is no info on how to access the pool(s). The VRBO listing and host's info need to be revised: we felt misled on many counts.
Coming to the Berkshires for many years. Enjoy sharing it and providing a great environment for everybody to have a great time. Enjoy real estate and creating facilities that work exceptionally well.
Both Westinghouse and Vanderbilt former owners thought Fox Hollow was the best location in the Berkshires on the shores of Laurel Lake. Close to Tanglewood, Lee, Lenox and Stockbridge. Across the street from 1500 acre High Lawn farm. Yes you are in real country. Music galore, Jacobs Pillow dance, Shakespeare up the block, the most fabulous group of summer stock theatres in the country. Renoir at the Clark, Norman Rockwell!! OMG golf, tennis, boating, hiking, fishing, arts and crafts fairs. Mall and town shopping, antiquing and food food food everywhere. Winter sports, fall foliage and take a deep breath. Okay, the real answer, it's the people.
