Loved the view and living/bedroom area. We did not realize there was a tall step to go into the bedroom and down the step to get to the bedroom. A bit of a challenge for the older traveler with mobility issues. Kitchen was great. Beds were comfy.
A comfortable cottage for your stay in the Digby area. Well equipped for self-catering travelers. The beds are comfy and the view of the sunrise was pretty. the hosts are helpful and respond quickly to inquiries.
This was by far the worst place we have ever stayed. Once we entered the door the musty smell hit us. Dirt, cobwebs, mold. We went directly to store and bought bleach and Lysol to disinfect the place. Shower only half works, a disgusting stink coming up from bathroom drain. The silverware and dishes had to be washed before using them. The oven was about the only thing that was clean. Coffee maker was discusting. Arbo you should do better screening these properties. Whenever you turn in driveway to property thereâs a crackhouse/dope house there on left. Garbage everywhere. Would not recommend this dive to anyone. Only solution in my opinion would be a wrecking ball. Totally gross. And all this for over over 800 just not right. Oh and the furniture was from the 1970. Kitchen table was filthy. I went and bought a plastic tablecloth so we could set at it.
The host made every effort to address our concerns. The unit was clean and the grass was cut. As we were 3 seniors, someone had to sleep in the loft. That was me. Getting up there was challenging on the steep narrow stairway which required pulling on the rickety railing made of rough hewn wood with peeling paint. Are there no building codes it rural NS? At age 77 I felt unsafe but managed it. The loft had steeply slanted walls. The bed was quite comfortable. The other bedroom/living room was very nice and looked out onto the deck with great views of the bay and town waterfront. At only a 10 minute walk to town, the location was perfect.
The first floor was musty. Appeared clean but needs lots of updating Neighborhood was very questionable. Joy was very nice and accommodating. She personally took us to the place and handed us the key then left. Had lights on when we got there so it was well lit. Wouldn't stay overnight in Digby; nothing attractive about the city itself.
This minimum input and relatively higher priced property could with a lot of effort ( probably rebuilding by a professional) be a stellar property because of its unique location. It is hard to understand that a tourism association has such low standards.
Property was nice and what we expected.
Shower pressure could have been better. Could have done with a light over the bathroom mirror, made shaving hard. Noticed a lot of mold.
Overall it was a great experience. Loved the view from the deck.
We had lots of roof for the 4 of us. The place is nice, kinda quirky but clean.
The hosts were very easy to reach and were helpful.
You are right in the middle of town, easy walking distance to the local coffee shops and cafes.
The only concern was the sketchy house at the beginning of the driveway, lots of people floating about. No noise at night and no one bothered us.
I would definitely stay again!
