Power Outages
Please be aware that power outages are not uncommon in mountain areas like Ashford, particularly during heavy rain, wind, or winter storms. We want you to be prepared and comfortable if this happens during your stay.
The house is equipped with a backup battery system that provides power for approximately 3 hours under heavy usage and can last up to 12 hours with energy conservation measures.
If there is a power outage during your stay, I will notify you as soon as possible and provide any relevant updates I receive.
To help prolong the backup power and stay comfortable during an outage, we recommend the following:
1. Minimize the use of high-energy-consuming appliances such as the microwave or toaster oven.
2. Instead, utilize the gas-powered stovetop or the gas grill for cooking needs.
3. Turn down the thermostats and use the gas fireplace for heating (please refer to the fireplace operation instructions above).
4. For lighting and charging your devices, battery-powered lamps with phone charging ports are conveniently located in the right-side cabinet under the kitchen island.
5. While we can't prevent outages, these provisions are in place to ensure your comfort and safety should one occur.
We hope you have a wonderful stay and make lasting memories at our mountain view cabin!
