Islander Beach Resort is a 7-story structure of 114 condos on a short 2 mile stretch of Okaloosa Island with direct views of the beach and ocean. Exterior upgrades have been completed on the building, which is now painted an aqua blue and gray. There are 2 elevators and lots of parking. Guests can freely access the beach, pool, BBQ pits and parking area (a parking pass is needed), but you will probably spend the majority of your time on the large private balcony overlooking the pool and beach.
Newly RENOVATED and UPDATED 2 bedroom/2 bath fully furnished 5th floor condo with SPACIOUS living and dining area and a WIDE PRIVATE BALCONY overlooking the sugar sand beaches and emerald surf of Okaloosa Island on the Gulf just west of Destin. After a long day at the beach, relax with a glass of wine and charge your phone on the balcony while you watch dolphins play in the waves! This unit is situated directly on the beach and gives you a front row, unobstructed, and less crowded view of the Gulf.
- CONDO accommodates 6 guests: one King bed, two Twin beds, and one pullout Queen sofa-bed are available.
- Luxury vinyl flooring throughout condo. No wall-to-wall carpeting.
- LIVING area includes sofa bed, chair, and 2 recliners. 50” HDTV with DVD player which can be easily viewed from kitchen and dining areas.
- MASTER Bedroom has a TV and 2 small closets leading to attached Master Bath, double sinks and enclosed shower tub.
- TWIN Bedroom has a TV and closet, adjacent to Full Bath with enclosed shower tub. Bath also adjoins main hallway.
- Both bedrooms have HDTV’s and room darkening curtains to keep out morning light.
- Both bathrooms are newly tiled and have hand showers for sandy feet!
- KITCHEN includes all stainless appliances: refrigerator with ice maker, glass top electric stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal and coffee bar. There is plenty of counter-top and cabinet space for storage.
- KITCHEN is fully stocked for cooking and dining. COFFEE BAR includes both Carafe AND Keurig Coffee makers, in addition to a blender, can opener, toaster and mixer.
- DINING Table seats 6 with extra seating for 4
at the Breakfast Bar.
- Expansive BALCONY also includes 2 tables and seating for 6.
- Hall closet contains a stacked WASHER/DRYER inside the unit.
- Bath and Kitchen TOWELS, BATH RUGS, and BEDSPREADS are provided and ALL are laundered between guests.
- BEACH TOWELS are also provided and are laundered between guests.
- FREE starter supplies in unit for kitchen, bath, and laundry.
- FREE in-room Guest WiFi (password posted in unit). WiFi expander for bedrooms
- FREE Parking. Please obtain a parking pass at the front office between 9-5.
- Beach Umbrella/Chair Service is NOT included. (We provide umbrellas, chairs and beach towels in the unit.) Daily beach service is available from the venders on the beach, on a first come first serve basis.
**All guests are required to provide a copy of the PHOTO ID or DRIVER’S LICENSE of the person securing the rental to your Vrbo host. You may also be asked to provide the names and ages of all guests that will be present in the condo. For further info, see House Rules.
***HURRICANE POLICY***
If there is a named HURRICANE forecast for FWB or a MANDATORY EVACUATION of Okaloosa Island during your stay, you will be refunded for the AFFECTED days of your stay. If you believe our policy does not meet your needs, we recommend you purchase third party travel insurance.
Guests can access the BEACH at any time. Swimming in the Gulf is permitted except during a RED flag warning. (Flag chart provided at lifeguard station and in condo.) Pool hours and rules are posted near the pool. Private GYM is available for guests (enter through the lobby) from 9am - 5pm. Stationary Charcoal BBQ GRILLS are available for guests near the parking lot area. TRASH CHUTES are available on every floor.
If you have questions during your stay concerning on-site parking, beach rentals, Red Box or the above guest amenities, please visit the lobby front desk between the hours of 9am - 5pm. Please obtain a parking pass from the lobby office the day after you arrive.
I am a local Vrbo host. If there is a problem with your stay, you can call, text, or email me anytime. I usually screen my calls from unknown phone numbers. If I don’t answer, please leave a voicemail and I will return your call as soon as possible. I'm generally available to take calls and texts from 9am-9pm seven days a week. My co-host is usually available after hours. You can also email or message me through Vrbo anytime. If you decide to book with us, please see HOUSE RULES AND GUEST POLICIES.
HOUSE RULES and GUEST POLICIES:
- The guest who secures the booking MUST be at least 25 years of age. The person securing the reservation MUST provide a copy of a VALID PHOTO ID and, if asked, the NAMES and AGES of all guests staying in the condo.
- There is a strict NO PARTIES policy for all guests. If it is determined that a party is occurring in the unit, ALL GUESTS PRESENT WILL BE IMMEDIATELY ESCORTED OFF THE PREMISES by security or law enforcement and there will be NO REFUND given.
- There is a strict "NO PETS" and "NO SMOKING" Policy for all guests. This will also cause you to be escorted off the premises with no refund.
- Condo management does not allow PETS to "visit" with guests.
- Condo management does not allow BBQ pits or fireworks on the balconies.
- Smoking on the balconies is also not allowed.
- Subletting of the unit is not allowed.
- Condo management does not allow towels to be hung over the balcony railing or items to be thrown from the balcony.
CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Check-in is at 4:00 PM. Your door code will unlock the door only AFTER 4:00PM on the day of check-in and BEFORE 10:00AM on the day of check-out. (See DOOR CODE LOCK OUT below). We have a self check-in procedure. You will not have to stop at a rental office or lobby front desk. The management of the rental unit is conducted only by your Vrbo host and her co-hosts. There is a co-host available on the premises and your Vrbo host is just minutes away.
SECURITY: The Condo Association manages the security of the building, the parking lot, lobby, beach services, the pool, and other common areas. Early check-ins CANNOT be scheduled due to our contract with housekeeping and our Smart Lock security.
**DOOR CODE LOCK OUT** Entry to the unit is controlled by Smart Lock software. If you try to use your assigned door code to unlock the door before the 4PM check-in time, the lock will deny access! Multiple attempts before 4PM are detected by the Smart Lock as “Unauthorized Access Attempts”. If this occurs, your assigned code may be permanently denied access and will not work, even AFTER 4PM. Your access to the unit will be delayed until a new code can be reassigned by the host or someone can arrive to physically recharge the lock.
CHECK-OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
- Check out is at 10:00 am. Your door code is set to disengage at that time. Please gather dirty towels in a pile on the bathroom floor. Please empty all leftovers and open food containers from the fridge. Place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Please do not leave dirty pans of food in the sink, oven, fridge or stove. Gather trash and place excess in the trash chute. If you forget something in the unit, please contact me directly ASAP so I can ask housekeeping to retrieve it.
