Welcome to the North Cascades and the Moss Top Cabin in the Cascade River Park. Our beautiful, established live roofed cabin is a cozy retreat embraced by the forest in every respect. Breathe in the forest surroundings and listen to the babbling Boulder Creek running nearby. This rustic, off-grid cabin is heated with full bathroom facilities including on demand hot water, kitchenette for cooking and large deck to enjoy the mature evergreens towering above.
Off grid means there's no electricity and no way to charge devices. Lights are battery powered and appliances are all propane.
Check in instructions and directions were very clear. Cabin was as described and even though âoff gridâ still had all necessary amenities. Clean and very peaceful stay.
Cozy, majestic vibes. The community was such a welcomed surprise to explore, the cabin had everything we needed for our short stay and close to restaurants, water, gas etc. The calmness of the deck the joy of a hot shower and comfy bed was exactly what we needed after days of backpacking. Thank you for sharing this special place with us.
Perfect for my friend and I to stay and enjoy North Cascades. The only issue we had was that we couldn't get the propane lights to work. But the battery operated ones did, and we just used a flashlight, so it was fine.
Was pleasantly surprised by how efficient this little cabin was with no electricity! It was the perfect place to come back to after days of hiking in the cascades. My 4 yro loved roasting marshmallows on the outdoor fire table and we loved being able to walk 2 min to a beautiful flowing creek. Space was super clean and had everything we could need in a little kitchenette to prep for the day- Sarah was also very easy to get in contact with! The location is close to the little downtown and easy to access the national park. Would absolutely stay here again!
Very well decorated with quality items making for a cozy environment for 2. The bed was comfortable, and don't let the lack of electricity fool you... heat, hot water, a stove, and a refrigerator worked fine. The forest environment surrounded us as the warmth of the gas fire pit kept us warm. If you arrive prior to 4pm, the office staff just inside the gate directed us with a map. We were a bit late, and Moss Top was quite difficult to find. Northern Cascades National Park and Route 20 was close, but there were few amenities. We enjoyed being "off the grid."
We stayed 2 nights while exploring the North Cascades. It was surprisingly comfortable with unexpected amenities for a no-electric cabin. Battery/ gas mantle lights, refrigerator, stove, grill and fire pit were useful luxuries. The bed was comfortable and the surrounding area was fun to explore. An overall great experience and stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. The moss roof is so pretty, we slept well and we used the grill for dinner. Very easy to get to Cascades and we appreciated the book about hiking trails. No complaints!
