We had a wonderful stay at such a nicely equipped and decorated cabin. Jennifer has done a great job with the place and she went out of her way to make our stay perfect! I certainly recommend this to anyone visiting Madison.
When staying here I felt like I was at home and didn't want to leave when my stay was up. The wood cabin esque and smell of the wood when walking into the front door was amazing. I highly recommend and would stay here again.
This is a great property with an awesome owner. Would recommend to anyone who wants the convenience of the city with a country feel. Very quiet and clean. Thanks for your hospitality, Jennifer!
There is nothing about this cabin in the city that we would change. It was unique, fun and very comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer and highly recommend to anyone considering this rental.
Perfect urban âcampingâ experience in a beautiful neighborhood in a wonderful city. You will love the cabin and Madison ... unless youâre a dyspeptic troll, of course.
Impeccably maintained. Quiet yet close to any place you need to go to in the Madison area. Felt like I was in a cabin in the woods yet every modern convenience. Beautifully decorated. A treasure.
We loved our weekend at the cabin. Everything was above and beyond our expectations. It is close enough to town and also close to lakes and a nice trail to explore with our pup. Woke up to a friendly deer in the woods checking us out. We hope to come back again next summer. Thank you Jennifer for being a great host!
We had a great stay in the log cabin. It was much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. Lots of space, nice new bed, and a well-equipped kitchen and bath. The snacks were a nice touch. The area is a bit out of the way, but there is shopping nearby and we were able to get downtown in just a few minutes. Overall, I highly recommend this cabin for a relaxing stay.
The cabin is beautifully done and very comfortable. Its nice that you are right in the city, yet don't feel like it. Nice area where you feel safe. Cabin has everything you would need. The fire pit outside is a nice touch. If you are coming to the city but still want your own space, and enjoy cabins and fires, its perfect. I enjoyed it.
Luckily we had rented the City-Cabin for our snowy April weekend. Staring out at the spring forsythia blooming in yards covered in snow, while we were snug in the cabin made us shake our heads at Wisconsin weather. The cabin is spacious and clean. 2 tvs made everyone happy, plus all the utensils and appliances available if cooking was on the agenda. The shower was hot and the towels were soft. Absolutely met all our needs!
We needed a place to stay in Madison and on a whim decided to contact this VRBO before making a reservation at a hotel. The owner got right back to us and we couldn't have been happier. The small cottage is charming with a mix of rustic and modern touches. It is newly built, very clean, quiet, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, plus a few unexpected and appreciated extras: coffee/filters, tea, a bag of microwave popcorn, cereal bars, chocolates, etc. and toiletries in the bathroom. There is also a washer/dryer and everything needed to cook meals, which would be nice for a longer stay. The cottage is located in a residential neighborhood, on the edge of the owners property, but is far enough from the house that there was a feeling of privacy. The owner is very friendly and even stopped by to offer us some snacks and wine because we were one of her first reservations. It was less expensive than the hotel we planned to stay at and offered so much more, we would definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay. Jennifer is a great host. The location was good for us because of easy access to birding, shopping, and family. The cabin was well equipped for cooking simple meals. We were comfortable and pleased with our choice.
The cabin was perfect - every amenity that could be wished for was already there. Very clean and well-equipped. Would stay there again without question!
Needed a little getaway for my wifeâs bday and the future arrival of our third child. This place did the trick. It got us out of town but well within reach of what Madison has to offer. Would book again!
Jennifer made our check in SO easy! The place was perfect for our mini getaway during Xmas break! The cabin was so clean and had everything we could possibly need! My 11 year old daughter LOVED the loft space and the location is right by a forest and offered a cute trail for us to walk our dog! The cabin is close to downtown, but feels like you're far away in the mountains! Thank you Jennifer - we plan to come back!
The City Cabin is a fantastic hidden gem right on Madison's north side. It provides a cozy and comfortable place to settle in for a night or a longer stay. All of the amenities, personal touches and decorations, and friendly and helpful property managers made my stay absolutely perfect. I would recommend this fabulous cabin for anyone who is looking to have their own space, especially if you love nature and feeling completely tucked away in a beautiful wooded setting. Do yourself a favor and enjoy City Cabin; I know I plan to the next time I am in Madison.
Such a charming and comfortable cabin in a neighborhood and surroundings that are serene and peaceful. Deer, a turkey family... all passed through and a nature preserve/hike right around the corner/out the back door. It was so close to family and friends and all that downtown Madison had to offer... Capitol, museums, state street, swans and eagle viewing on lake mendota...5+
The property was great and a fun respite. It is close to a great park and trail system that we enjoyed using and it is a quick drive into the heart of Madison. It had a lot of charm and we would definitely stay there again!
Over 10 years ago we starting building log cabins and discovered how much fun it was to have vacation rentals! We love to travel and vacation and know how much it means to feel safe and welcomed and have the owners go that extra step for us. We go back to certain places just because of the friends we've made at the rental! We want to offer that here. We had the opportunity to build a log cabin in our front yard (Jeff's Mom is sharing her space, Bonnie's City Cabin) and want to have a vacation rental that's the most unique place in town. Our other rentals are 2 hours north in Black River Falls area, but here we can provide unique features, my dream is to offer local food selections to have stocked when you arrive: chocolates, bakery, organic foods, wines and brews. We live right next door, so we are available to provide what ever is needed.
Madison rocks! We think we have the best lot in the city of Madison. It's 1.5 acres, on tiny dead end private road, surrounded by Lakeview Woods and if you walk to the top of the hill behind our house you can see the capital. We have a herd of deer that meanders through our front yard each day, a pair of owls, an occasional fox, once or twice a turkey and we are only a 10-15 drive to downtown!
When you walk into the City Cabin you'll feel like you just stepped into your cabin way up north. It's filled with fun stuff Jeff has collected from his customers, our families and our travels. As a plumber, Jeff had fun building the bathroom. The bathroom sink faucet is an old hand pump he had refinished, the shower is mix of 3 shower heads that surround and relax you. The in-floor radiant heat warms your toes and makes you want to cuddle up on the couch and relax after a long day of work or play.
