Absolutely phenomenal cabin!

This cabin is absolutely beautiful! The beds were cozy as was the furniture. My kids and their friends couldn’t believe how nice it was. We had plenty of room to hangout together the day it rained, and had all the amenities we could possibly need. Lake was very clean and we had a blast fishing the days away. Also, Angie is amazing!!!

We were very impressed with the cabin.

The cabin was beautiful and the outdoor property was excellent, we could not have asked for a better place to stay, this was perfect in every way and the care takers across the road were awesome. They gave us a tour of the place, and Jason brought a tractor bucket of free wood over for us twice during our stay, and anything that we needed they promptly took care of. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there again it was a very relaxing vacation for the whole family. We absolutely loved it.

AWESOME Sand Lake Home

My family and I recently stayed here and LOVED it! First and foremost it was GORGEOUS. On-site staff was very helpful and really nice. Selfishly, the thing I enjoyed the most was the internet service. As the internet was good and solid I was able to “WFH” and save some vacation days 😉. Would HIGHLY recommend this location to anyone!

Great Family Getaway

My family and I had a great stay! They walk out down to the lake was far, but not gradual decline. We have 2 under two and they both had a great time trying to skip rocks into the water. My wife and I found the home to be larger enough for three sets of family members and great place for dinners and fish fry's. Would deffently come back.

Family vacation

We had a great time for our family vacation. The lake was almost empty every day so the kids had a blast tubing. House was great. The only negative was the master doesn’t have walls all the way to the ceiling. If we didn’t have teenagers who wanted to stay up later than us it wouldn’t have been a problem though.

Christmas Snowmobile Vacation

This property is located in a resort but you’d never know it! Only the resort caretakers were there. It is a beautiful spacious log home right on the lake with a huge kitchen/living space and log burning fireplace. Tons of deer around every day. My family of 7 adults and 2 babies came up to celebrate Christmas and snowmobile. East assess to the lake and nearby trails. Highly recommend! We hope to come back next year!

It had cobwebs though out the house,and for the kind of money we paid to stay their,very upsetting, and disgusting.

While it's not uncommon to encounter them in our rural setting, our dedicated cleaning team makes every effort to maintain a web-free environment. Relaxing place out of the way

Nice relaxing vacation spot if your interested in being remote from towns and activities. Unfortunately, part of our vacation plan was to play some golf. Closest golf course is near an hour away. Cabin is nice, but no shower on main floor and the one in basement has no light over it. Basement where two of the bedrooms were smelled a bit musty. The wood supplied by care takers was rotten and would not burn. We needed to go off site to buy some decent wood for a camp fire.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - The listing does state that our vacation home is a log cabin with an open floor concept, but we are sorry if this caught you off guard. We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs - The ceiling in the bathroom is finished with knotty pine wood and a clear stain. The bedroom downstairs does have a privacy curtain. Our water softener also works properly. - All of the windows are supposed to open and close, however, based on your feedback, new window opening cranks have been ordered. We do offer a soaker tub and the jets work well but we apologize that they were not exactly like you’d prefer. - Evolve sets industry-competitive prices based on our property and the surrounding area and they use a dynamic pricing algorithm, which can fluctuate depending on the time of year or holiday season. We apologize if you didn't feel it was a good value. - While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to share that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend. - Thank you for sharing your review. Fun Cabin on the Lake!

The negative: didn't bother us too much but others might find this difficult to deal with....no door on one of the lower level bedrooms and master on first floor isn't super private as the walls don't go to the ceiling, only 3 outdoor chairs, and no marshmallow sticks. The thing that was really tough was the water. My mom (who grew up in this area) said the water is very typical of this area. It was not drinkable (even the stuff out of the fridge) so bring gallons of water with you for drinking. It was so smelly for bathing in too but again, if you're used to well water or this area's water then it'll be fine, just shocking for us. If I stayed again I'd bring camping chairs, more gallons of water, and marshmallow sticks. The positive: the scenery, the privacy, the huge porch, the close proximity to the lake, the fire pit, and did I mention the scenery? Just beautiful! I would stay again if in this area!

Cabin on a resort on Sand Lake

We really had a great time with our family. We came from 5 hours away. In the pictures it looked like a huge beach but when we got there it was a shared beach with a resort which was a surprise to us . People were cutting through the yard which gave us zero privacy . The master bedroom doesn’t have a curtain on the window and can see through the fireplace into the living room. The water in the bathtub was pretty rusty and left stains when we washed laundry Ran out of toilet paper Leeches in the lake but very clear and warm No bedroom door on a bedroom downstairs or lamps Pretty dusty with cob webs all over Fishing was good ! Electricity went out for 4 hours one night but wasn’t their fault. Only 3 lawn chairs and no beach towels or sand toys. Couldn’t find roasting sticks Dishwasher needed minor some repairs Location in the middle of no where. Very little phone signal Lots of firewood Our puppy loved the built in dog house We really made the best out of our time together at the cabin. Just very minor things but when you pay a lot you expect to have some of these minor basic necessities at a VRBO. Thank you though for opening up your cabin . We did indeed have a lot of great memories to remember. We rented a pontoon a day and that was amazing !

Hi Josie, we're delighted to hear that you and your family had a great time and created wonderful memories at the cabin. We take guest feedback seriously, and after sharing your comments with the homeowner, they wanted to address the following:-The master bedroom does not have curtains as the cabin is on higher ground, providing natural privacy. However, there is a decorative wood tri-fold divider in the closet to place in front of the see-through fireplace for added privacy.-The slight rust in the water is due to the geographical location and well water common in northern Minnesota.-Additional toilet paper is stored in the supply locker. Our caretaker would have been happy to provide more if needed had you reached out.-The aquatic life in the natural lake, including leeches, is beyond our control, but we're glad to hear the water was clear and warm.-The downstairs bedroom currently has a privacy curtain instead of a door. We will add lamps to enhance the lighting in that room.-The cabin is dusted after every clean, but being in northern Minnesota, cobwebs can appear quickly.-We're thrilled you had good fishing during your stay!-Unfortunately, as you stated, the electricity outage was beyond our control.-We will look into providing additional lawn chairs, beach towels, and sand toys available for future guests.-The dishwasher will be inspected and repaired as needed.-The location is remote, contributing to limited phone signal, but we hope the seclusion added to your cabin experience.-We're glad your puppy enjoyed the built-in dog house!-Due to recent heavy rainfall, water levels have risen, affecting the beach size and leading to more people gathering in that area. We apologize for the inconvenience and lack of privacy.Thank you for taking the time to leave your review! We appreciate your feedback and will use it to make necessary improvements. Just what we had hoped!

We were looking for a place to relax and unwind, with a lake, particularly with a beach, fishing, and jet ski opportunity. This was a great match for our family of 6! We were welcomed warmly by the hosts and found the cabin to be more spacious than we were expecting. The weather wasn’t quite as hot and sunny as we had hoped, but we grilled, played cards, watched a movie, put a puzzle together, read and enjoyed the views from the porch, enjoyed lots of fishing on this lake and others, and spent quality time together away from out typical busy schedule. It was the perfect quiet retreat destination we were looking for. The location was down a quiet gravel road and the cabin is situated as part of, but off to the side from, a small resort. This was no problem at all! It still felt very private. The owner has obviously been responsive to others’ thoughts as there is now a larger couch, a bigger TV with great resolution, shades on the windows, and a privacy screen available in the one room without. If you forgot something for your trip, one would be hard pressed not to find it on hand in this cabin. The air conditioning worked great, but I was glad to have brought a couple fans for the white noise they offered given the vaulted ceiling and open concept of the main floor - particularly as some awoke early to fish and some wanted to sleep in. We had a great time. The only regret we had was that we hadn’t booked it for longer.

Summer at the Lake

AMAZING Lake!!! Actually considering a permanent move if property becomes available. On site host helpful and informative, kind, flexible, available and willing to provide suggestions on lake and local interests. The house was lovely and accomodated our needs nicely. ONLY suggestion would be to have the cob webs cleaned out of the windows - cooking in the kitchen with cobwebs & bugs covering the windows was a bit too much.....truly though....WORTH the stay and the simple memories made.

The cabin and view are beautiful! The property does have other camper/trailers, but was pretty quiet and we didn't see many other people while we were there. The whole yard, from the cabin to the lake, is pretty open for use and was great for playing catch with our dog. She also got to swim in the lake which was super fun for all of us! The whole cabin is nice and spacious, not cramped where you feel like you are bonking into furniture or other people who are over. All in all, we would 100% recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and quiet place to get away! Note, while I saw a complaint about the only shower being down stairs, we really didn't find that to be an issue. In fact, it was really nice having two bathrooms available.

Excellent Cabin with a Splendid Lake View

Totally worth it! When we walked in, we were amazed by the overall view of the lake and the cabin. Accommodating and friendly host. An excellent place for a friends/family getaway. We certainly hope to come back.

Beautiful cabin. Just do it and book it!

The cabin exceeded our expectations. It was beautiful. This property was clean, well stocked with essentials/cleaning supplies, lots of parking (we had 3 trucks with 3 fishing boats), bedrooms were spacious, gas grill and OMG the couple that works the office of the RV park are sweet and wonderful. I read some reviews after booking this cabin and was a bit apprehensive before we arrived. Surprisingly those reviews aren't what we experienced. Yes there is an RV park right there and it was very quiet for late June. Local RV residents were super friendly. And yes there is a boat ramp right on site for the RV community and people who stay at this cabin. There is a huge shared dock in front of the cabin and it accommodated 2 of our fishing boats. One of our boats was to deep due to low water levels. This cabin is beautiful and is a wonderful comfortable place to stay. The only downfall is there is two bathrooms with only one shower. That aspect didn't impact our 6 person party but it is something high maintenance people need to be aware of. We worked around that with no issue. Fishing....... we couldn't really figure out the bite. The super sweet RV office managers willingly gave up their fishing secrets but all we caught were tons and tons of hammer handle northern. But don't let that sway your decision to rent this beauty.

Very nice cabin

Although it was cold, windy and snowing and the fishing wasn't great. The cabin was very nice and the owner was very responsive.
