You can stay in a place of history at this lakeside retreat in Mayville! The Pratt House was one of the first homes built in Mayville in the year 1850. Enjoy beautiful views overlooking Chautauqua Lake, home of the Chautauqua Belle! Lake views grace all of the front rooms of the house, offering a serene and picturesque setting. This house is conveniently located within walking distance to Evergreen Outfitters, which offers kayak and paddle board rentals, and yoga at Lakeside Park. Lake access and boat launch are available directly across the street. Dock rentals may be available at Chautauqua Marina. Pratt House is perfect for year-round vacations to Chautauqua and nearby Peek'n Peak Resort. This charming piece of history offers all the comforts you need during your stay with plenty of room for the entire family which includes 3 bedrooms, a loft area with a workspace and queen pull out sofa and another queen pull out sofa in the living room. Kickback, relax and enjoy everything the Chautauqua region has to offer.

Fantastic home and host. Questions were answered very quickly. Location is perfect being in front of the lake. Great space for a group of 10. Individual ac units in each room was key on an extremely warm summer weekend! Look forward to returning!

Absolutely beautiful home!! Loved the front room with the large front window and magnificent view of the lake. Our morning gathering spot in the house. Evenings spent either at the extra large dining room table or outside at the cozy fire pit. Large bathrooms were very clean and had all the necessities. The location of this house was perfect for us. Just a short walk to breakfast, convenience store and the kayaking rentals. Sunset kayak guided tour was amazing !! We totally recommend this home and will definitely be back. Kelli A

Great getaway on the Lake

Very satisfied with most of the features of the house. Loved the outdoor eating area, especially. Could use a pizza pan and pizza cutter in the kitchen as well as some baking pans. We think it would be a good idea if the hot water temperature was dialed back. A few people nearly scalded themselves just in washing their hands. Air conditioners worked great so everyone could pick their comfort level. It was a clean, comfortable and roomy house with great views of the lake. We would stay there again.

Hi David. Thanks for the review. We will definitely invest in a pizza pan and more baking pans. We were unaware of the water being too hot but we will have the issue looked into. Thanks for the input and the 5 star review!

Very spacious, plenty of sleeping accommodations! Linda left very thorough check in notes. Coffee, Gatorade, and water were provided. Nice view of the lake from the front stoop.

Older house in a prime spot. Great package.

The house is immaculate but older they're wonderful paintings all over the house and the hosts are more than generous they have everything from sunscreen to nail polish remover. Bathrooms are super clean; shower is upstairs. The location is what makes this a gem right in the middle of the county and if you use the roads right everything is close.

We had a wonderful time at Karen and Tim’s property it was everything we wanted and needed it to be. If you are looking for history this house has so much history. The host’s were fantastic and the house was great, well stocked, clean,and what a great location. Would recommend it to anyone. Our whole family had a great time ages 2-60+. Will definitely go back. Beautiful view and wonderful hosts!

The house on the lake was a perfect fit for our family who was in town for a wedding. There were plenty of beds for the 10 of us (ranging in age from 3-55!). Karen provided everything we could possibly need, a fully stocked kitchen, extra blankets, towels, etc. She was so generous providing water, gatorade, and freezie pops for the kiddos and firewood for a campfire. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't here! She was also very communicative and kind allowing us to stay an extra day! The views of Chautauqua Lake are fantastic from every bedroom and the livingroom! There are lots of restaurants around, enty to do, and a Tops right around the corner!! Thanks so much for a great time!!

Very helpful hosts!

I don’t know why VRBO asked me to rate this: I had to cancel due to illness, so I have not been inside the place in person. While sick I was having trouble navigating the website to cancel, so I reached out to the hosts. They replied promptly and were extremely kind & considerate in trying to help me when Vrbo’s own customer service would not!!! We hope to be able to stay here for the first time in the future, and give a better informed rating. My rating of communication and location ARE accurate. My overall experience with these hosts WAS excellent! I have zero knowledge of cleanliness, check-in, or accuracy, but Vrbo has no way for me to say not applicable, so I gave five stars there too: these kind hosts should not suffer due to Vrbo’s limited survey design, but those three are just guesses.
