We had 2 families staying, and the house had plenty of room for all of us. It was very centrally located, and the bus stop was a super short walk from the house. There were plenty of towels and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in each bathroom, which was great after long days in the very hot city. The kitchen was large, and it was a pleasant surprise to stay at a house that could accommodate 8 people around the table. Would definitely stay again, if in the area.
Great experience staying at this place for a Spring Break trip for 2 families. Bus stops nearby were easy to use, Metro a 15 minute walk. Would definitely stay again on our next trip to DC.
The place was really nice and clean my only complaint was that we were not told that we could not park our vehicle in front on Tuesday night due to street cleaners. We got a ticket for 45.00âŠnot happy about that.
Wonderful stay for a mixed family of 7 for Spring Break in DC!! The house was spacious, slept our group comfortably, and had every amenity we needed. The mattresses were extremely comfortable and there were multiple extra sets of linens for bathing. The house, built in 1906, has been beautifully updated. Each bathroom fully met our needs. Access to public transportation was very simple, just a half block to the metro line that took us all the way into the mall and museums. We were able to see all of the sights and have the full DC experience while coming âhomeâ to rest easily each evening. Highly recommend for families!!
We stayed for 5 days, the home was very clean. The kitchens was well stocked, furniture and beds were very comfortable. We had fast responses from the owner anytime we had questions. Highly recommend staying here.
Met up in DC for Thanksgiving with our adult children and their boyfriends. Picked the location because it was close to where the youngest goes to college. House was very comfortable and well equipped. Beds were great, loved having 3 bathrooms. Good location and there was always parking right in front of the house. Kitchen worked out well and we had a delicious dinner. Loved that the table was big enough for all of us! Overall a great experience.
Rough neighborhood, poor communication, few amenities⊠We wonât be returning.
The home was clean for the most part, although bathrooms could use a deep scrub. Kitchen was stocked but could definitely use a few more small appliances for convenience. The neighborhood is rough, but as others have said, street parking was always easy. NOTE TO FUTURE RENTERS: The street is not marked anywhere near the house but is closed for parking on Mondays. Beware: theyâll ticket and tow you. The owner should do a much better job with communication. I didnât even receive check-in information until the actual day of our arrival and had to contact VRBO directly because the host did not answer my messages. The house is close to a bus stop, but itâs a rough area so we didnât love that choice. Itâs a 20-30 minute drive to any of the major sights. Furniture was run down and half broken. Our favorite things about the house were the comfortable beds and the amazing water pressure⊠haha! A grill would also really be a nice amenity to have.
Everything was as it was shown in the listing pictures, and our host was very responsive to all of our questions.
Please note that street cleaning takes place on the houseâs side of the street on Mondays, even if you have a permit to park there you will get a ticket and potentially towed, so you must park across the street or around back on Mondays!
Otherwise the house was incredibly accessible to several bus routes and the metro. This was a great place to stay for a DC visit, and I would definitely rent this property again!
Weâre a family of six who stayed for three nights. It was spacious and mostly clean, but there were a few issues. The bathroom rugs needed washing, the pillow shams and comforters were dirty, there was a blood stain on the sheets, there was tons of dust under the bed downstairs, and the downstairs bathroom counter needed cleaning- not just a spot cleaning. The house looked just like the photos. I didnât get any check-in or check-out instructions so I had to message. I never got a response to the latter so we did our very best. We didnât like the neighborhood or location, but that was our fault for not doing more research. The street parking was surprisingly easy. The beds were comfortable and it was well stocked. It would be nice to have a recliner or extra chairs in the living area for additional seating. The bedroom downstairs is very lit up at night so something to block some of the light would be amazing. Wish I could rave about this place but maybe with some thoughtful improvement, future guests will be able to.
Host never gave us check in details and was unavailable when we called. We had to scramble to contact VRBO for help. After an hour of struggling, they managed to find a PIN for us to enter. Five hours after our supposed check-in time, the host finally reached me and bombarded me with nonstop international phone calls and messages. The host offered a complimentary first night for our troubles. We accepted the offer and stayed put. About the house, it was a total mess outside, with garbage in the front and back. Neighborhood was shady and it smelled like tobacco from time to time. The interior of the house looked better but there was a pair of dirty socks on one of the beds and a dirty sock under one of the bed. The unit looked modern but the place wasnât properly cleaned for sure. The door to the backyard didnât work properly. The unit didnât have toilet paper, garbage bags and dishwasher detergent. The host had someone deliver most of the items but we were told that dishwater detergent was not included with the rental. How many people carry dishwasher detergent with them on trips??We promptly checked out at the end of our stay. Rather than giving us a complimentary first night as agreed, the host ended up giving us only a partial refund a week after the stay was over and that was after I chased after her. She then explained that I misunderstood her terms. An exhausting experience communicating with her for sure.If you want to try your luck, go ahead.
