They stay was fine. The location is on an extremely busy road and requires careful attention getting in and out the headspace is a little limited.Little funky, a little eclectic, nice deck, stream off the deck very pleasant facing the back
This property is all about proper expectations and I would encourage reading all the reviews for proper context. On the positive side: Easy check-in; accurate pictures and description; Quiet setting; Clean; Good location; Good price for areaOn the negative side: Not for anyone with mobility issues due to walkway up to entrance and low step up into unit; Very treacherous pulling in and out (especially at night) due to being on the curve of a very busy and fast road; Very limited in way of kitchen (donât expect to cook there) and mini fridge only; No extra paper goods; Odd bathroom setup with half wall for shower open into room (only privacy being a half shower curtain)
Abridged. Full in Yelp.Good:* It is a cute little place* Clean* Comfortable bedAdvice:* Absolutely must follow the info they provide on how to find the place. âąDoâąNotâą attempt to plug an address into any GPS and expect to find it, There are no âąusefulâą markers to tell you the street numberNow for the downers:* Tubs not avail even at the end of May* Slight tobacco odor* Pretty back yard but almost inaccessible * Need tiny car for driveway* Bring a flashlight. Steps to back are unlit and treacherous in the rain* Thinnest toilet paper ever? ran out in 2 days* Traffic noise from 25A is loud* I knew it was small, but even for 5â7â* No shower curtain and no mat to step on the wet tile floor* No useful makeup mirror or toiletry space* The tiny toilet sized for toddlersâjunk be hittinâ the porcelain. Also the roof is too short to stand straight while I pee and Iâm too scared to sit!* About 5 minutes for hot water* 2 unmatched glasses, 4 plates, 2 bowls, a half dozen unmatched utensils and a solitary fork and solitary knife (not suitable for cutting even cheese), no corkscrew* Smelly drain line coming up in the bathroomâŠhad to cover with trash can* No liner bags in trash cans, no soap or shampoo.* Communication near non-existent.Sadly, it wouldnât have taken much (toilet paper, working tubs, a check valve, street number, another fork, knife, a coupla cups, and a light over the walkway) to make all the difference.
The big problem was the shower. You had to run it so long and I hate wasting water.. no pressure at all! I also was upset that the tubs were not able to be used.. that was a highlight in the description and pictures.. bathroom too small⊠my husband had a real problem with it⊠getting out of the driveway was extremely difficult and scary!
Les points faibles : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
For Mountain Goats Only
The unit is above the garage right on an extremely busy highway. The driveway is on a curve and cannot be seen until the last second. The make-shift stairway consists of uneven steps, slanting smooth pavers and large rocks. Kitchen equipment is a silly joke. No tea towels, potholders but one fork. One small skillet for two eggs and a small saucepan. No can opener, cutting knife or water glass. Refrigerator won't hold a gallon of milk or 2 liter soda bottle. Stay with an intimate friend as there is no solid wall to the bathroom. Bring ALL sundries. No face wash cloths. Be short to avoid hitting your head on ceiling in the bathroom. One hanger but no closet. Iron but no ironing board. Light switches - lean over a wide door well to a wall behind any hanging clothes. If you don't like lumpy pillows, bring your own. Bed frame sticks out just looking for your shins. Not bothered by homeowner or their dog. All communication through real estate. Good TV and internet service.
Overall the description is accurate and it was a good place to stay for the price. However the bungalow is above a garage and when we were there the owner left at 6:30 am and 7:30 am on the weekend opening a very loud garage door which the bed sits on top of and it woke everyone up. The other thing one should be aware of is the house is right next to a busy road/highway so you do hear a lot of noise from the big trucks and cars that utilize that road all night. It is a charming little bungalow and we enjoyed the tubs in the cold spring water but a quick check of the property before our arrival would have been good as there were dead bugs on the bathroom sink and under the kitchen table. Also the amenities were lacking such as soap, sponges, kitchenware so I would plan on bringing your own items as we had to go do. Hope this review is helpful to both the owners and other visitors.
The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Outdoor gazebo with spring fed tubs were appealing, unfortunately our stay was in early May so we couldn't use them. Good week away a d we were happy with the accommodations
Satisfactory for a short stay. Accommodations were basic. We were there only to shower and sleep. I would caution anyone with a mobility issue from this rental as the beautiful walkway is very uneven. Also, the ceiling is sloped in certain areas so extra tall people would have to hunker down a bit. The driveway was a challenge to enter from a busy road. The water pressure of the shower was very weak. Otherwise a very minimalistic and simple place. Served its purpose for our needs.
On a busy road but the place is adorable and worth the money without a doubt quiet because it is in the back , private entrance and deck definitely a nice vibe
Absolutely beautiful, far exceeded our expectations. A nature lovers paradise.
The mineral baths are rejuvenating and refreshing.
The ambiance is impeccably pleasant. Highly recommend most do on the Gold Coast of Long Island.
