Huron Helm · Lakefront*HotTub*ArcadeBarrel* Kayaks*Paddleboards
Summary:
Welcome to your nautical oasis home on Lake Huron! Huron Helm is for our guests that enjoy the great outdoors, creating memories by the fire, listening to waves and setting the reset button while watching the boats go by. Newly remodeled in 2024 we kept in mind having activities throughout the home, yet a place you can destress from your daily routine. Our favorite amenities include 6 person hot tub, barrel arcade of 60 games, pet friendly and of course enjoying the outdoor lounge/dining area
The Space:
The Space
This spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom lake house provides plenty of room for up to six guests to experience the Great Lakes together. Groups of friends, couples, small families, and boat enthusiasts love spending time here, and the house is pet-friendly, so no one has to miss out on the fun.
Living Spaces
The rustic, wood-paneled living space strikes the perfect balance of comfort and style. Guests can sit back with a drink in hand and look out at the lake through the glass doors, or swing them open and let the breeze sweep through the space.
The entire space benefits from AC and heating, keeping you comfortable whatever the weather. On those particularly frosty Michigan nights, light the fireplace and snuggle down on the sofa for a cozy movie night on the smart TV. If you happen to be here on a rainy day, we have plenty of games (including an arcade barrel with 60 games!), puzzles, and books to keep you entertained.
The workspace is handy for guests who need to get a few tasks done during their stay, and WiFi is available throughout the property for working, streaming, and scrolling on social media.
A spa corner with a towel warmer is a thoughtful touch for guests hopping in and out of the hot tub, and the enclosed gazebo is a delightful spot to enjoy the up-close-and-personal water view, while lounging on the sofa sipping a glass of your favorite beverage and enjoying a game of poker or Jenga with friends and family.
Kitchen & Dining
The bright, open-plan kitchen is fully loaded with new appliances and everything you need to rustle up impressive meals and yummy snacks. Keen cooks will appreciate the well-stocked spice drawer — as will the diners! Complimentary coffee from the local Cheboygan Brewing Company ensures that every morning gets off to the best possible start, and the barware will keep those good vibes going for the rest of the day.
There’s space for two to enjoy casual bites at the breakfast bar, and the six-seater dining table is where your group will enjoy lively lunches and long dinners with plenty of laughs, great stories, and memories that you’ll cherish for years to come.
Bedrooms & Baths
Two modern, spacious guest rooms ensure that you and your family and friends rest well during your stay. The primary suite features a sumptuous king-size bed and is finished with striking blue and white shiplap.
The master bathroom continues the nautical theme with rope accents and blue and white decor. There’s a shower over the bathtub and the dual vanity gives you plenty of room to get ready in the morning. This bathroom also features a washer and dryer so you can look and feel fresh throughout your stay.
The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and two bunk beds that comfortably sleep a family or a group of friends. The mural is a popular design feature with our guests, and each bed has access to personal lighting and USB ports. Bedroom is also supplied with one sound machine to lull you to sleep. This room has access to the guest bath with a shower, single vanity, and wallpaper of the Great Lakes and the Cheboygan area.
The comfy pull-out sofa in the living room can sleep two additional guests so there’s no problem if you’re having trouble narrowing down your guestlist. Both bathrooms are fully stocked with all the essentials, and there are plenty of extra blankets and pillows available, too.
Outdoor Amenities
Huron Helm boasts a spectacular outdoor area that your group will fall in love with. The hot tub is a major highlight for our guests. It’s covered, so you can keep cool in the sun or sheltered from the snow, and the fairy lights create a magical ambiance.
The outdoor deck with comfy furniture is the ideal spot for a tranquil morning coffee or a more lively happy hour. When hunger strikes, fire up the grill for al fresco waterfront feasts. Then, once the sun has set, light the fire pit and retire to one of the Adirondack chairs to enjoy a nightcap under the stars.
The dock was made using a piece of Mackinaw Bridge and leads directly down to the water for swimming. There are yoga mats, kayaks, and paddleboards for you to enjoy, and we also provide plenty of yard games in the front including cornhole boards, can frisbee, and ring toss.
Around the front, there’s more yard space and a private drive with room for two up to four vehicles.
*Please note dock and other outdoor amenities such as paddleboards, kayaks, etc. will not be available in the winter months Nov 1st-May1st.
The Neighborhood:
Located in Cordwood Point Association. A quiet neighborhood on the banks of Lake Huron.
10 mins south of town of Cheboygan
31 mins to Mackinac Bridge
Other Things to Note:
Upon reservation, guest is agreeing to indemnify and hold Owner and Owner’s agents harmless from any injury that is suffered on the rented property, or from any equipment provided by the Owner, including use of the kayaks and paddleboards.
There are steep stairs leading down to the beach, and the beach itself is rocky. There are no lifeguards so please take care while swimming.
We have neighbors close to the property so it isn’t fully secluded.
The rock wall is to prevent erosion and is not suitable for young children.
This is a lake front property so mosquitoes are active! We provide bug spray and tiki torches to help deter but keep in mind when booking your stay.
Also to note, this cottage is in a wooded neighborhood. You may see or encounter wildlife while in our home or neighborhood. This could include deer, skunks, raccoons, otters, ducks, mice, spiders, wasps, bees, crickets, black flies or ants. These creatures reside in nature and we have no control over them. We Cannot control Mother Nature and therefore do not offer refunds if you encounter her business. This is a pet friendly property so no poisons, toxins, glue traps allowed.

I’m a Southern Indiana girl who married and moved for a Michigander. I quickly fell in love with the state and all the incredible nature that it has to offer.
My husband had always dreamt of owning a property on one of the Great Lakes, and we were lucky enough to make that dream a reality when we found Huron Helm in December 2023. The previous owners had model ships in the house and they kindly left them to us, so we used them as the starting point of the property’s nautical theme. We renovated the property in early 2024 and have been welcoming guests ever since.
I’m a dog mom to Hobbes the Boston Terrier and Harley the Shorkie, and we love heading out on long walks together. I also enjoy going to the gym in my downtime, and there’s nothing more relaxing to me than getting lost in a great book next to the water. My husband and I love to travel together and as major foodies, we are always on the lookout for new cuisines to sample.
I love to make a difference in people’s days, and I hope that Huron Helm will bring as much joy to others as it does to us. We can’t wait to welcome you and we hope you will make many special memories with your loved ones during your stay.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
Growing up in a small farm town I got used to the peace and quiet quickly. This neighborhood gives that peaceful feeling yet being close to town only 15 mins away. Listening to the waves let you fully relax and feel you're in a different world.
Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
Not only is the view incredible but for our guests with dogs you get to bring your furbabies with you! Winter can be harsh in Michigan which is why a hot tub is a must!
