Escape to a cozy A-frame cabin in Keene. Nestled in the trees and close to hiking, swimming and canoeing adventures. Easy access from Keene and close to route 73. A 15 minutes drive to Lake Placid in one direction and 15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain in the other. Many of the 46 are at your doorstep!
The interior features high ceilings and a queen bed on one side. Mini-fridge, kettle, toaster and table with chairs on the other. Wifi included.
The outhouse is 20 feet from the cabin and also has an outdoor solar shower (fyi- the water temperature of the shower depends in how much heat the sun gave off that day. The water does not stay hot for very long after dark). You can sit on Adirondack chairs on the deck and enjoy the forest view in front of the firepit.
The cabin is 200ft down from the main house, on the same side of the road. You will just see the rooftop peaking over the wild flowers on approach. Parking is alongside the cabin.
There is road noise but no view of route 73 during the day. Crickets, occasional owls or passing hooting bears are the usual night time sounds out this way. I look forward to hosting you.
Highly recommend staying at this cabin for your Adirondacks trip! All of the amenities you need and then some - the hot tub was such a fun surprise! Julie was very kind and helpful, we hope to come back soon.
The Little A-frame in the woods was the perfect location for a relaxing weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary! The listing is exactly as pictured and described and Julie was very responsive! 10/10 will recommend to literally everyone and hope to come back again some day. Thanks Julie!
Property was clean and cozy! Host was amazing and always offered anything to help! Check in and out was simple! Surrounding area was nice. Property is small but enough for one-two people! Lots to see in the area! Definitely recommend.
This tiny cabin was EXACTLY what I had envisioned for my husband and I for an early anniversary trip. Check in and out was a breeze. Julie was super communicative but gave us all the privacy in the world. Cabin is tiny, but I like tiny cabins, cozy to the max. Clean and comfortable. Julie even surprised us with an inflatable hot tub! It was heaven after a long hike in the rainy Adirondack Mtns. Would 100% book again. Thank you Julie!
Had an absolutely lovely and peaceful stay here. Communication was flawless, the property had all the essentials. The outdoor shower was certainly a fun experience after some long sweaty hikes! My partner and I would return 100%. Our highlight was a bind fire outside facing the still and colourful trees.
As much as I donât want to compete with others for this cabin in the future, I feel obliged to leave my honest review. My wife and I stayed here and could not have been happier. The A-frame was very clean and cozy, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. For people who donât mind a privy and a brisk shower, this property canât be beat. Julie was a great host, and weâll be sure to visit again.
We loved staying at this cozy cabin in the high peaks area! It was a wonderful base for our hiking adventures, and a peaceful place to wake up in and return to after our day trips to various trails. The host was extremely friendly and helpful, and she put great care and attention to detail, leaving fresh flowers, teabags, honey, grilling equipment, and materials to use the firepit. We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs outside, and appreciated hanging out inside the cabin too. Highly recommended, especially to those who enjoy the outdoors!
Amazing! This was the perfect stay and exactly as advertised. Some highlights for me were the comfortable bed, the kitchen items, and the super convenient location. This was the perfect mix of comfort and security while still giving a healthy taste of the outdoors (outhouse and solar shower). Communication with the host was very quick and easy. I loved my time here and this was the perfect spot to rest after long days exploring the BEAUTIFUL surrounding area. Highly recommend!
We loved this quaint cozy cabin. We stayed for three nights and it made for the perfect get-away. Julie made it very clean and welcoming for when we arrived. When it rained outside we had Spotify playlist âcozy cabin in the woodsâ playing in the background (10/10 would recommend btw) while we played board games.
We did some easy-moderate hikes in the area like Cobble Lookout and Baxter Mountain. We had impressive views especially during peak fall foliage!
The shops at Lake Placid were super fun to explore. We love Saratoga Olive Oil. You could spend hours in that store exploring all the different varieties.
Would also recommend The Big Mountain Deli and Creperie for lunch The Hungry Trout for dinner.
For the property would recommend a small mirror in the cabin, maybe a step up to the toilet with a bar to hang onto/pull yourself up in the outhouse. Overall just as expected in the listing and had a nice stay!
We had such a wonderful time staying at Julieâs A-frame cabin! It was a perfect home base for exploring and hiking the surrounding mountains. The cabin was clean and cozy. We especially enjoyed the view of the forest waking up in the mornings. All the comforts of home. Even the little outhouse was adorable! Will recommend staying here to anyone heading out this way.
Hi. I'm half British and half American and couldn't imagine living anywhere else in the States than here, in this special place called the Adirondacks! I'm a photographer by trade but love living amongst the trees and mountains, as well as swimming in the local rivers, antique hunting every chance i get and enjoying all 4 seasons up here. I'm very lucky!
The cabin is close to everywhere but set back in the trees, so feels private and hidden from view. Close to route 73, there is road noise during the day. But you fall asleep to owls, crickets and occasional hooting bears, as they make their way between the river and higher foraging.
