Cozy, serene and bucolic waterfront hideaway within driving distance of Tanglewood, Shakespeare & Company, Jacob's Pillow and all the wonderful food and cultural Berkshire gems! Julie and Russ were amazing hosts. Great communication and wonderful restaurant and museum suggestions. Definitely planning another long weekend retreat!
Host communicates well. Beautiful screened in porch. Furniture throughout much nicer than typical VRBO fare. Downside is that nearby freight train line is loud, and it runs regularly night and day.
The cabin was cozy and located in driving distance (10-20 min) to everything we wanted to see. It could have been a little cleaner, but overall it was fine. The back porch is a great place to relax and we enjoyed reading with coffee in the sun room in the morning. The pull out couch is not very comfortable. Itâs a traditional sofa bed. Would probably be improved with a mattress topper to cushion it better. I wish there was a binder with instructions, WiFi password, and local recommendations. My dog loved running around the property and it was a great place to go with a pup!
Beautiful cabin in beautiful setting. Cabin was well furnished, had well stocked kitchen, and modern amenities. There were lots of attractions within 30 minute, scenic drives from the cabin such as Tanglewood, Monument Mountain, and other Berkshire and Columbia County attractions. Avid cyclists will find smooth roads with good shoulders and light traffic. As noted n another review, there is a rail line about one mile from the cabin, thus inevitable noise on occasion. It was well worth the trade off for the peace and quiet that otherwise prevailed for 99% of the time. Given its setting, this cabin would be a great destination for foliage season and spring blooms. We will look forward to future returns, as well as recommend it to friends.
The privacy. The quiet (except for the bullfrogs in the pond and the train whistle). The view across the pond with the fish jumping and birds swopping.
