La Rousselie is a fantastic luxury stone villa that sleeps from 2 to 10 people + cot. Enjoy the tranquillity of what seems to be your own private valley offering absolutely magnificent views yet is only a 4 minute walk to the centre of the wonderful medieval village of Ladornac, with its friendly cafe/restaurant naturally at its heart. Facilities include a large private terrace and heated pool set in a 2 acre landscaped garden, hot tub on the villa deck, all bedrooms are en-suite, a fully loaded kitchen, large open plan living area with log burner and stylish modern furniture, English and French TV, hifi, DVD, wifi, plus kids games room and all other mod cons. Available all year round with lots to see and do ideally situated for visiting Sarlat, Domme, Lascaux, Montignac Roccamador not to mention canoeing, walking horse riding & even skiing in the cantal mountains. Of course you could just relax and chill out on the deck or around the stunning heated pool.
Highly recommend! So sad to leave after an amazing week - hugely relaxing due to house being so well equipped and lots to keep teens happy - we loved it and all agreed weâd revisit. Local restaurant is brilliant too.
Great property and place to stay. Everything you need in the house and the pool is a good size. The view and the tranquility are relaxing. La Dornac is a small hamlet but the local restaurant serves up a great meal. Plenty to do in the area.too. A great holiday was had.
Brilliant trip away. The best views rural France has to offer. Excellent facilities at the house and a great pool. Local restaurant would easily be a Michelin Star back home.
Cannot fault it
Absolutely fab holiday house - clean, large and contains everything you will need both in terms of fixtures and fittings but also books, games room etc. Home from home experience, but with the weather being great. Location is idyllic with beautiful countryside views. Wifi works really well, pool is clean and great to swim in. No real amenities locally but Terrasson is close by and is a lovely town
My parents, my husband, my sister with her 3 children, and me with our 2 children. We had such a wonderful 2 weeks. The weather was amazing, La Rousselie is a fantastic house, extremely well equipped, fantastic views and it was lovely to have the pool - all of us in it every day, the best part being that it is heated. Have stayed in many holiday rentals before, but have decided you have to have a heated pool. Very well placed for seeing local sites. Would recommend highly - definately book it!
The location and views from the house were amazing, lovely village and beautiful scenery. The house was also very nice and well equipped but we felt that it could have been cleaner and was dusty in areas. We also found the pool was not up to standard at first and contacted the owner who did get back to us about it but no one came to sort it until I had to contact them again several days later, the pump was not working properly and needed fixing which it eventually did. The photos show parasols at the pool but these are no longer there, it would have been nice to have more shade for the sun beds.
All in all, a few issues but we had a lovely holiday and would recommend to others.
Overall we enjoyed our stay with the family.
The interior of the property was excellent, very clean and had every appliance required. The pool and jacuzzi were very good.
On arrival our first impressions were not as we had expected as the gravel drive was full of weeds and the paintwork needed a refresh. The path leading to the swimming pool and patio area was also full of weeds which was disappointing to see as it needed TLC, also the permanent base for the umbrella was rusty and dangerous for children playing especially our 3 year old grandchild.
On our last day the children were unable to swim in pool because a dead mouse has got in under the cover and therefore discouraged the children even though we removed it. We had also wanted to dine at the local restaurant which was walking distance and had been a recommended in property information but unfortunately the owners were on holiday until the our last day of our stay, by which time part of our family had already left for home.(disappointing)
My husband and I have just returned from a week in this stunning house ..
After a long jounery we were exhausted .. But our spirits were soon lifted .. Not only does this house have everything you need to enjoy a holiday in deepest France the quality of everything is very good too ..
Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who always responded quickly via email to our questions .. Sophie sent an email prior to our arrival with directions and details of local supermarkets ..
We flew Edinburgh to Bordeaux, hired a car and the house was approximately 2.5 hrs away .. Alternatively there are flights to Brive (very close) but they weren't easy coming from Edinburgh..
Ladornac is a beautiful village .. Immaculate... Oh and the bread from the local restaurant was scrumptious!
If you enjoy white wine then seek out the local Bergerac wines ...
The place to stay in the Dorgogne!
This was our 3rd visit to the property and it did not disappoint. We again enjoyed many hours in the fabulous pool and games room and took the opportunity to venture out to some of new and familiar locations / activities nearby!
We also appreciated the addition of a new walk-in shower in the main bedroom since our last visit.
Thank you Nia & Glynn!
Weâve just returned to this villa for the second time - and canât wait to return. Genuinely didnât want our week to end. The accommodation is very comfortable and well thought out, with plenty to do for all ages. The kids were never bored and we loved the juxtaposition of peace and tranquility with everything you need being just a short drive away. Thank you for another lovely stay.
La Rouseille ticked all the boxes for us, we were 2 families with teenagers and we wanted a spacious house that had lots of activities to keep them occupied whilst we could relax. The location of the house is superb, you can walk into the village where there is a lovely restaurant, but there are great towns and markets within a short driving distance as well. The house was clean and modern with everything you could need to make a great stay. Table tennis, darts, football, croquet. We loved the pool and the sunbeds were really comfy - not plastic like some other places we have stayed. The dining balcony makes a great spot for dinner and lunch and we enjoyed watching the beautiful sunsets and the spectacular scenery. As all the bedrooms have thier own bathroom it was a real bonus too. Will totally recommend this house to others and hopefully come back again some time soon!
Had an amazing stay. Villa has everything and more than you could ever need for a holiday. The view from the balcony is just amazing. The facilities were fantastic with a great sized pool and loads of space around to kick a football etc.
Loads for children and adults to do without ever leaving the villa, however surrounding area has loads of lovely places to go and see. A fantastic part of France.
Not many places you go to where the reality is better than the pictures online. Would highly recommend
We had a wonderful stay at La Dornac. A lot of thought had been put into the villa to ensure that we had the very best stay. The layout of the villa is well thought-out, with a double en-suite bedroom on the ground floor, one on the first floor and two spacious rooms with bunk beds and a Jack and Jill bathroom. Downstairs the living area is well-designated and open plan. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and spacious enough with a large dining table, and we couldnât have asked for more comfortable furniture both inside and out. The veranda overlooking the pool is a lovely spot and we thoroughly enjoyed the views from here. The pool was a real source of fun and the children spent a lot of time in it during our stay. The games room was also a real source of entertainment during the hottest part of the day with the x-box, table tennis and table football. There were also garden games available to play, as well as an inflatable for the pool.
All of the furniture was comfortable and of great quality: no expense had been spared. It was a real home from home.
Our hosts were really responsive and on the occasions that we did contact them with questions they replied really quickly.
The only thing we couldnât manage to do was connect our devices to the Wi-Fi but this had no impact on our stay. The tv worked fine as it was already connected so we could access our own Netflix account etc which the kids loved.
All in all a great stay and we canât wait to return! Thank you!
Tranquil valley views on the outskirts of a picturesque village
Stayed for the first two weeks of Sep 2019.
The villa is clean, well appointed and very comfortable. We did not find anything amiss and everything there was clearly well looked after and of good quality. The location is wonderful, overlooking a valley and very tranquil.
The pool is in good condition and heated. It shares the valley views and is fabulous place to spent the afternoon. Pool furtniture was of excellent quality as was the hot tub and the patio table & chairs. All had cushions available.
Communication with the owner was easy and of good quality.
All in all an excellent property, very highly recommended.
10/10.
This was our second stay at this property .. I could actually stop my review here but I wonât... The location the ease of contact with the owners is great ... But you will not find a better holiday home in the Dordogne... Look at all thatâs included... All high quality too ..
We have recently returned from a week during the Saharan heatwave ... Sophie emailed to ensure we ok and closing the shutters etc.. in her words she told us live like the French ...
I love the pool and itâs proximity to the house .. Thatâs important .. Something I didnât realise when we stayed elsewhere ..
Overall itâs a 10 .. price, location, the house and the owners who leave you alone until you need them ..
We work too hard to return to a holiday home that isnât fabulous ..
You wonât be disappointed...
Extremely peaceful. Beautiful view. Lovely house and pool. Good accommodation -- rooms, bathrooms, very well equipped kitchen. Book it. I would again without question.
Just back from a brilliant stay at La Rousellie. The house is superb, really well equipped with everything you could possibly need and set in a beautiful, peaceful valley with incredible sunsets each night.
The pool and gardens are perfect for lounging by and playing with the
badminton, croquet, table tennis equipment that comes with the house. We barbecued and ate out on the terrace most nights.
The location is perfect for popping into some of the beautiful towns and chateaus that abound in the area and for heading out canoeing on the Dordogne. The owners were really helpful in the run up to our stay, providing all the info we needed and more!
We'll be heading back I'm sure!
We were a party of eight and had a wonderful week at the villa at the end of August. It was perfect for our needs and is very well equipped and in a fantastic location.
Without doubt, La Rousellie is the perfect family holiday villa we have stayed in. Everything is thought of to make holidaymakers comfortable.
The pool is superb and the accommodation is very comfortable.
Scenery to die for and local amenities perfect.
We will certainly be booking our holiday there next year.
We have just spent a week relaxing in this property. It has everything you could need for a restful week, you wouldn't even need to leave the house if you didn't want to!! Both of our children aged 11 and 13 we occupied for the whole time. The pool was lovely and stargazing from the hot tub at night was amazing. The local villages are beautiful and we particularly enjoyed sitting by the river in Terrasson in the Banana cafe. Well done Reily family, you have created a wonderful, peaceful haven .
The Villa was truly amazing inside and out with fantastic views. We enjoyed relaxing outside by the heated pool on comfy sunloungers surronded by nothing but blue sky and fields and a few cows! The children enjoyed playing football in the very spacious grounds. The decking area had a large table so all 9 of us could eat al fresco as well as a hottub. Inside was spacious and tastefully decorated, all rooms were ensuite and the beds were really comfortable. It had everything practical you needed in terms of dishwasher, washer, dryer, TV
The games room was great too for the kids with table tennis.
thoroughly recommend
Beautiful house in a most relaxing part of France. All the amenities you could wish for. Lovely heated pool and jacuzzi as well as golf and croquet all outside in what can only be described as heavenly surroundings. Then should the weather be bad there are wii games, table tennis, games, books cd and dvds to keep everyone occupied. Would recommend this house to anyone
