Wayne, thank you so much for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience. I’m glad you enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, felt safe, and found the house well stocked. I’m happy the gift basket was a nice touch, too. You’re right that the pool and fireplace are both seasonal. We do note that in the listing, and I appreciate the reminder to keep that clear for future guests. When warmer weather arrives, the pool becomes everyone’s favorite spot, and I love cozying up by the gas fireplace in the winter. Regarding allergies, thanks for mentioning that as well. We regularly host families who travel with pets, and we want both pet families and non-pet families to feel comfortable. The carpets, area rugs, and sofas are professionally cleaned on a regular schedule, and after pet stays I take extra steps like lint-rolling the sofas and area rugs thoroughly and giving the air purifier filters an extra cleaning. As for the fragrance you noticed, that was actually a one-time situation. The guests before you had cooked a lot with strong spices, and even after deep cleaning (including washing walls) the scent lingered. In researching odor removal, I learned that citrus scents can help neutralize spice smells, so I added a couple of tropical plug-ins to help freshen the space for your arrival. They were simply meant to be helpful and could have been removed if they weren’t your preference. Thank you again for staying with us.
