Great location/cool house

Absolutely loved the house and location. Check-in process needs to be improved. We had to stop at realty office to get code for the door, and added 20 minutes to our trip. Overall, everything was great.

Girls Trip

The location was amazing. Easy walk to restaurants on Sullivan's Island and ocean. There were only 4 of us but the house could sleep many more. The beds were clean and comfortable! There is a lot of 'stuff' in the house but overall clean. There were no eating utensils (at least we couldn't find them). Other than that, kitchen is well stocked. It was a wonderful get away!

Old Sullivan’s Island charm and comfort

Loved the vintage feel and charm of this property. It is perfectly located near the center of the island with many restaurant choices. The home is well equipped and nicely decorated. My family all loved our accommodations and would recommend this property. My recommendations are that the exterior could use a good power washing and some space be cleared in the kitchen for pantry items in the kitchen.

Nice location and home but....

Nice property, plenty of space, location is central to the area and easy to get where you need to go. However, I would recommend investigating some HVAC zoning for the upper and lower floors. Our stay was hot to say the least. From the time we arrived to the time we left this unit hovered at 76-78 degrees and would only drop to a moderately comfortable level of 74 at night but never lower than that.

Real reviews are hidden

It wasn’t until we had booked the place that I realized people’s *actual reviews* were hidden under the generic ones. Luckily we didn’t use the downstairs rooms as many of the reviews mentioned, the smell of mold was bad & I am highly allergic to it. The cleaning people had managed to cover the musty smell upstairs with a sickly honeysuckle air freshener. Location is great. Needs improvements to make it worth the cost.

Just splendid!!

Our family had the best of time at your place. The place was just steps away from the beach and easily accessible. It was kid friendly. We had a bunch of teenagers as well in our group who enjoyed the most as the house was just setup right for big groups. Plenty of seating areas. Wonderfully furnished. Bedrooms were spacious as well as adequately furnished. It was a wonderful stay overall. The maintenance staff were also really supportive and prompt. We did have couple of minor issues raised and they attended to us immediately. One of those was the unique Dishwasher which needed to be plugged in when needed. Other than that, the house is a second home for anyone travelling to Charleston.

My only complaint was that it was a bit musty smelling. Location was perfect! Amenities we're just right. Would love to go back when we had more time to enjoy. Would be great for a relaxing vacation. It was wonderful to spend time with family who had traveled from Montana, Michigan, West Virginia and South Carolina!

June family Get Away

I love this house. It is like stepping back in time to the house I lived in as a little girl. There were 10 of us and we had more than enough room. We could all go to our own spaces and have solitude if needed. The neighborhood is perfect. The yard is excellent. the screened in porch is a love of mine. We sat out there every night and talked for hours. The kitchen is huge and well put together. We made huge breakfasts and dinners and everyone ate together. The walk to the beach is very easy. Anything you might need ,you will find in this house. I love it. We will definitely stay again next year and this time for longer.

Moldy smell/ water damage visible on ceilings

Two out of five rooms are in the basement of the house, next to the garage and have water issues. The ceilings are peeling due to water damage, the shower heads are rusty and the overall moldy smell in the basement and house are not bearable.

The setup was perfect for our family because we have two teenage boys who stayed in the apt. on the first floor. We rented two golf carts which made the trip even better. You get what you pay for and this home was a great spot for an old school beach vacation! It may be rented on VRBO but you are managed by Island Realty.

The house is older so some of the things that were a little difficult came from the older house. We were somewhat concerned when first checking in how hot and humid it was inside. The property manager explained how we could adjust to the lowest setting of 70. I had 9 people to stay in the 5 br house. Two of the bedrooms were downstairs but what we didn’t know they were downstairs off the frontprorch which would give access to someone from the street unless the front outside porch door was not kept locked. These room would be cooled off by one unit for both the upstairs and downstairs (outside) down some stairs. The downstairs bedrooms two other rooms a sitting room and a TV room ‘s doors had to be kept closed in order to keep them cool from the upstairs unit. The upstairs bathroom was very dirty. The track on the tin was full of dust and debris. The floor were equally dirty and each corner filled with dust. All the furniture was full of dust and rugs didn’t look like they had been vacuumed in a very long time. The kitchen had clean towels out but had holes in the counter next to the sink which was covered up. The garbage disposal would shoot water and debris out when you used it. The refrigerator where you get water and ice was covered in black mold and mildew. And had a leak which we reported. Couldn’t turn the fans on due to them being so high up. The ceiling bulged and looked as if it could fall in. A cleaning charge was made to us but the house was not cleaned.
