Unique older home with lots of craftsmanship noticeable throughout. Home has a lived in feel so it is not antiseptic feeling. It was like staying at a friends house, while they were away for the week. Loved all the art displayed throughout the house.
I had a little difficulty with the lockbox (user error!) when I arrived and Luc immediately came over to let me in. He was very gracious and showed me around the house to make me feel welcome.
We were not expecting the place to be lived in. If that was in the description, we missed it. Owners were not there during our stay but it was obvious someone lives there when not rented out. We were expecting a property solely used as a vacation rental. Price and availability was a deciding factor for us. Given the choice, I would not choose to stay here again. It just wasnât what we prefer or expected.
My group was working at the convention center all weekend, but it was so nice to come back to a very comfortable house in a pretty quiet area outside of the crazy convention area! Haha The house doesn't have ac, but there are plenty of fans provided to keep you cool, and the house gets a nice breeze if you open up some doors/windows.
The house looked like the owners packed a bag for the weekend the day we arrived. The kitchen stove top was greasy, kitchen had moldy potatoes, and the fridge and freezer were full of left overs and owners food. We had no where to put our groceries for the weekend. There were spider webs in the corners of the ceiling in almost ever room, and the tub in the bathroom would drain unless you pried the plug out of the tub.
The owner was nice enough however let his cleaning lady do all the talking. She acted like she owned the property and was extremely rude.
