Rent at PORCHSIDE PARADISE - Steps to Duval

Porchside Paradise is located in the front section of the Conch Republic Cottages. This beautiful home-away-from-home features an inviting and spacious front porch—great for people watching.

The unit is gated off from the other cottages, which makes it very private and great for pets too! The inside is beautifully decorated and features an updated kitchen complete with an ice-maker, refrigerator, coffee-maker, stove, oven, blender, and microwave. The upstairs loft has a king-sized bed and a skylight. The downstairs living area is equipped with a queen-sized sofa bed and sleeps two guests, if necessary.

Porchside Paradise is one of three units that comprises the group property Conch Republic Cottages. The three units can be booked separately or as a group.

Absolutely wonderful location, Just Needed More Information

First, let me tell you about the positives. The location is perfect for exploring Key West. It is right around the corner from all the restaurants and the sights. I can't stress how convenient this location is. Here what I wish I knew before I came down here. There was no parking at the location. It was an additional 50.00ish per night for parking down the street. It was a bit of a shock.

Perfect little cottage

Location to Duval Street was perfect and still remained quiet at the cottage. We enjoyed our first trip to the Keys

Great location

Great location right off Duvall! Enjoyed the hot tub and deck after riding bikes all day. Kitchen has everything you need. Would definitely return!

The property was nice, conveniently located

We enjoyed our stay. The property was nice, the king sized bed was very comfortable. The deck and hot tub perfect for us. So close to Duval and within walking distance of all we wanted to do. Some aspects were a little dated, but it was perfact for us and our two sons. It was equipped with all we needed.

Tucked away, yet close to it all

We had a great stay at the Porchside Paradise. We rented a golf cart, scooters and bikes from the place just around the corner during our stay. The cabin is small, but sufficient for two people. The bedroom ceiling upstairs is low (so tall people watch out) but the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed our time in Key West and would recommend staying at the Porchside Paradise!

Small but Quaint

The place was small, but nice. Had a little mixup on where to check in at, but the owner came and picked us up and got us where we needed to go. He was really great! The loft left some headroom so we recommend keeping your clothes on the first floor and just use the loft to sleep in.

Location is great

We enjoyed our stay. The location is central to most anything. The square footage and kitchen were excellent-would be great for a longer stay or larger groups. We were disappointed that the hot tub was not functioning as we specifically looked for properties with this feature. For the price, some of the little details could have been improved (bleach towels, shower curtain)but overall a nice quiet spot.

Great location!

Clean unit, only issue was that 3 AC wall units - extremely nosy ( needed ear plugs to sleep) and one of them was only moving air not cooling at all! The other two kept the space somewhere comfortable.

Super Location !!!

We wanted to be close to everything and this property delivered. Just a block off of Duval Street with all the shops restaurants and bars, but it was still relatively quiet. As others have commented, it wasn't the cleanest or most updated unit but we felt we got our money's worth in the location. The owners/management company were very accommodating and apparently they were beginning some renovations as we checked out.

Great location

Great location, 1/2 block from Duval. Only complaint is the cleanliness. It would be fine for most people but not clean enough for me. Other than that, we had a great time and enjoyed sitting on the front porch each night after returning home from our drinking extravaganzas. ( ;

Perfect spot for a Key West vacation!

This was our first time to visit Key West and we could not have been happier with our stay at the Orange Blossom! It is located one short block off of Duvall St where all the fun is happening, so the location was superb. The cottage is adorable and was great for our group of 3, plenty of space and comfortable too. The pool that we had access to far exceeded our expectation also. It was lovely and perfect. Communication with the property managers was super quick and they even gave us a ride in a golf cart, with all our luggage, to the rental - without us asking. I can't recommend this property enough. SO wonderful!

Great location

The location of this property is what we liked most. It’s a block off Duval and right in the middle towards either end. It’s also the quietest of the many places we’ve stayed. We barely heard anything. We usually can hear roosters at 4am or street noise at the places we stay. The unit was clean, nice front porch, laundry was great, stocked with beach towels and kitchen accessories. Coffee pot, but no coffee provided however. Now for what we didn’t like. The loft is a tight squeeze. You cannot stand up straight. We’re able bodied and not large people, but this area would be a problem for many. There is a shade over the skylight, but it was open when we arrived and the loft took a long time to cool down because of this. Keep the shade closed unless you want to cook upstairs. The check in process was sort of silly. We had to go to the rental office only to be given a door keypad code. Would be nice if they’d just save you the trip and email or text the code. We had three instances of someone trying to enter our unit. One of those was successful. The house keeper entered our unit without knocking an hour before we had to check out. Luckily we were decent. The other two instances were guests of the other two units around the sides of the house. Seems like better directions should be provided to find the other units. The couch is sad and should be retired. There’s no support left. We used it to unpack our stuff onto since there’s nowhere in the loft.

Wedding Stay

My fiancé and I were traveling to Key West, FL from WI to get married and traveled via the road with our 2 dogs. The place was very clean upon arrival. The check in process was not as smooth as hoped. It didn't matter when we checked in, anytime after 3pm, per the property manager we were dealing with (Kevin). But then it got closer to us arriving at 6pm and then he told us near 5pm he was only going to be in the office until 6pm which he didn't tell us prior. We also reserved this place for 2 main reasons: 1 dog friendly and 2 washer and dryer as we were doing a road trip x3 weeks. I did disclose this to property via messaging prior (the reason for the stay and how we were traveling) and yet the washer and dryer were locked until a second day into our stay (the day before our wedding). The pictures are not accurate in terms of where the washer and dryer are and we thought we were sharing with 1 property not 2-3 others around us for the patio and washer and dryer. I stressed my frustration about the lack of access to ALL amenities upon check in (washer and dryer being locked) and there was lack of care about this on behalf of management. The place itself is nice and clean however AC units can only be turned down to 72 degrees per their guidelines and we stayed for 4 nights for 4 people (2 men and 2 women) and I guess they only offer 2 rolls of toilet paper regardless of a 2 or 5 night stay. There were no extra touches in terms of their customer service at all. I wouldn't rent from them again.

Beware of VRBO add-on fees

This property was advertised for a decent rate, but we later learned that there are additional fees for the owner (28%), additional administrative fees (14%), additional cleaning fees (14%), and an additional service fee (13.5%). This is deceitful because all fees should be included in the quoted price, whereas the final cost was a whopping seventy-one percent (71%) higher than the advertised room rate. Only taxes should not be included in the quoted fee. Shame on VRBO for adding on all those fees! Since when is cleaning not included in the room rental, especially because it wasn't cleaned every day?! This property had pros and cons. The pros are the convenient location to Duval street and the full-size kitchen. The cons include the fact that the gate code is also the door code, and so other guests could access our room while we were out and about. The ceilings are so low that I bumped my head numerous times in the bedroom, as well as the kitchen. The bathroom sink had a big rust stain around the drain, the grout was very dirty/stained, and there were small ants in the kitchen. The lights by the gate lock are not working and so if you don't have your own light you cannot get in. The worst thing about this place is that there is no assigned parking and extremely limited street parking. We spent several hours trying to find a parking spot. Public parking is $40/day in most spots. We finally found a spot 3 blocks away. Of all the places we have stayed in Key West, this is one place that we definitely will not be returning to!

Updated, modern and just off of Duval St. It is on the small side but comfortable for 3 adults. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. No dishwasher, though it does have a full-sized washer and dryer. The bathroom is spacious and two people can comfortably be in it at same time. Other reviews commented on the upstairs loft/bedroom with its slanted ceiling. We're on the shorter size so it wasn't that much of an inconvenience. The covered front porch was very relaxing at the start and end of the day. We would rent again.

Cramped space, great location

The bedroom is in the loft which has an extremely slanted ceiling making it impossible to stand up straight which was frustrating. Listing mentioned an oven but there was not an oven. Weird quirk, whenever we turned on the downstairs TV the upstairs one would go on as well lol. It would be nice if there was some extra pillows and blankets for the couch! Customer service was excellent and location is excellent. Overall we had a great trip!

25 year Anniversary

Great location right off Duval. Easy to walk to the beach and all the restaurants around Duval. Bathroom is a good size for a smaller property and the kitchen is well equipped. We would stay again.

Great little place

It’s literally a hop skip and a jump to Duval street yet you can’t hear the noise. The upstairs loft bedroom has pitched ceiling and you can not stand up in there at all. That’s the only thing I don’t like. I suggest extra blankets for person using couch to sleep. They had everything you need beach towels. Plenty of bath towels. Laundry pods for washer dryer. Coffee filters etc it’s a very small place but we managed just fine with two adults our 19 year old daughter and a dog. My only concern is that loft upstairs.

Cozy and close to all the action

Nice little home! Clean and bright, well decorated, well equipped with everything you need - range, microwave oven, fridge, washer/dryer. Nice sized bathroom. Living space small; for one person works very well, would be cramped with two. Only one small closet, and upstairs bedroom only works to sleep on the bed, low slanted ceiling renders the rest of the room unusable. Nice wrap around well-let porch with furniture. Steps away from Duval Street, great location. Worked great for my little get away!
