Beautiful property and super clean

We had a great stay at this property. It was exactly as described, nicely decorated, and very, very clean. There were so many extras including coffee with a variety of creamers, tea, and other snacks. There were lots of towels and closet space. It fit all 6 of us with no problem. The neighborhood was also very clean and quiet with lots of street parking. The host always responded in a timely manner to any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again! Loved it!

Had a great time. Loved the location. Nice neighborhood with places to eat close by. Two blocks from the metro which was really great.Two notes. No dish towels and no lock on upstairs bathroom.

Wonderful Visit

My family and I needed somewhere to stay in DC while we were in town. Desiree was very accommodating and had thought of everything that we would need while we were in town. The house is very close to public transportation which helped a bunch!

We have so enjoyed our time. The house was great, only 1 thing we would recommend to make it better- different windrow coverings. The rooms were like day all night due to the street lights. The first night we did not sleep due how bright it waswas. The host went anove and beyond

Perfect DC getaway

This was a great homey vacation rental in DC. The kitchen had some extra bonuses--- like granola bars, teas and coffee. The location was fantastic, very close to the metro, museums and terrific restaurants. The owner was very responsive. Would stay here again.

Roomy and convenient

Spacious and clean home base for your trip to DC! Metro buses and rail are very close by and for those with a vehicle, the private and secure off street parking is a big plus. You can easily walk to restaurants (try Caruso’s for Italian) or take a short ride on Metro/Uber to enjoy all DC has to offer. Desiree was very responsive and has several videos on Vimeo to familiarize guests with the property - (very helpful instructions on how to lock the tricky front door). you can’t go wrong with this property, especially for families or groups up to six.Highly recommend!

Incredible location

Plenty of space for the 5 of us. Super location, close to metro, great neighborhood. Beds very comfortable, too. A few minor maintenance items, but nothing major - great place to stay!

Family trip to DC

We took a trip to DC with our (adult) kids. With three bedrooms, off-street parking, and a location close to the museums and monuments, this worked out great for us! Desiree was fantastic. Timely communication and provided all the information we needed to make it a fun trip!

The location was great. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants, The kitchen had all you needed to whip up a family breakfast. The onsite parking was a plus.

Good Stay in DC

We enjoyed this stay. The location was great and getting around DC was easy with this as a home base. Neighborhood has grocery and restaurants within walking distance - very convenient! Communication with property owner was good, we had question on toilet and she came over to check on it. She also left us a delicious pumpkin pie as a treat. Two things I would like to mention as possible Improvements: The top Bunk in the kids room made me a little nervous as there is no railing on it. Bedding is basically even with boards so was worried someone would roll out of bed to the floor at night. Couch in the living room is not comfortable. It’s modular furniture which is not connected and the pieces shift. Also the back support is very low. We had hoped to watch movies as a family in the evenings but no one was comfortable so we did not. Thank you for a nice stay.

Convenient row house in SE Capitol Hill

We really enjoyed our stay in this updated row house. The house retains its historical charm while also being very comfortable. The bedrooms are bright with lots of light. Also, it is easy walking distance to nice food (Roost) and shopping (Eastern Market). We relied on Uber to see the sights near the mall and that worked well for us.

I Wouldn't Change a Thing (Except the Blinds...)

Desiree's house was the perfect outpost for my daughter's wedding in DC. Pluses: Clean and roomy house in a pleasant and safe neighborhood, good security with sturdy lockable iron gates on front and back doors, well-stocked kitchen (coffee, spices, plates, pot/pans, utensils, etc.), close access to two metro stations, walkable restaurants nearby, plenty of linens/towels/etc, comfortable beds and furniture, secure off-street parking for one car plus abundant on-street parking, nice outside patio area in back, and excellent communication with the host even though she was having a family emergency. Also Des was flexible with our checkout time and rescheduled her cleaners to accommodate our late afternoon flight out of DC. Minuses: Not a lot of minuses, except almost every blind in the place was broken or half-broken or stuck. They all still completely covered the windows, but some opened, some didn't, some opened halfway, some crookedly, etc. Obviously not a huge deal, but the house had beautiful tall windows and it would've been nice to let more sunshine in during the day. Bottom Line: This is definitely a 5-star property and I feel like Des works hard to keep it that way. I would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend Desiree's house to anyone visiting DC.

Quick visit to DC. Home location was close to Metro. Enjoyed sightseeing & returning home for the evening. House was well stocked, beds comfortable. The only improvement for us would be to have more comfortable living room furniture.

Great home base for DC

We had a great stay here, using it as a base for lots of DC tourism. It a very easy walk to a metro station, and then just a few stops to the national mall area. We found multiple good restaurants in easy walking distance. The house itself was clean and well maintained, with plenty of space to cook and eat when we were not out and about. I was pleasantly surprised by just how quiet the neighborhood was at night. There is a spot to park your vehicle in back. It’s slightly tricky to get into, although significantly better than having to find street parking. The details the host sent ahead of time included helpful info on how to get in and use the gate. We had one issue with the blinds while we were there, but the host clearly knew about the problem, already had replacements on order, and worked around our schedule to get us a completely reasonable temporary solution quickly. I’ll take that kind of responsiveness.

We enjoyed our stay at Desiree's property on 722 13th St. SE in DC. The house is very charming and Desiree was very responsive and communicated with us well. The house is located close to the airport, restaurants and the Capitol which worked well for us. The house is very clean and welcoming. We will definitely contact Desiree when we return to Washington.
