We had a fantastic time! We loved the art, the style, and the comfort of the house. Driving through the neighborhoods and exploring was delightful, too!
We needed a property that could accommodate a large group (14) that did not require us to sleep in bunk beds. This property has six true bedrooms, was in a great location, and had lots of seating both indoors and outdoors. Parking was also very easy and convenient. We would definitely stay here again!
This property had it all!! There was a tv and fan in each bedroom! There were plenty of bathrooms for everyone to get ready in their own space for the wedding! The house was huge and seemed to go on and on! The air conditioner worked well! Everything was VERY clean and there were many games and books there also! There was also a nice parking lot behind the house. Our only complaint was that we couldn't have 3 parking spaces if people didn't park correctly. Some parking spaces were used by the Vrbo next to us so we had to park on the street. That was fine though. Thank you for providing a GREAT place for us!!
Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Well appointed, close to the plaza and Westport. Host was very responsive. We had a toddler in our group and the breakable things were on high shelves which we appreciated. While it is an older/historic home, it has been updated with all the amenities for a great stay.
Nicely appointed rooms for everyone to have their space. Great remodel leaving the original features along with modern upgrades. The kitchen worked out well with double sinks and dishwashers and huge commercial fridge and freezer.
This was a great house and the property managers could not have been better - super attentive, responsive, and would always get right back to me when I'd have questions. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed the house; it suited our needs. Spacious inside and really nice to be able to enjoy the outside as well. Parking was a little tight and could use some softer pillows.
Home has great gathering space and ready to host. Yard is fantastic. Good parking but for small vehicles. The area isnât bad, but donât venture too far north
We totally enjoyed the accommodations for our girls trip. The house was perfect !The location & proximity to the Plaza was ideal. The house clean and well organized, we felt very safe and appreciated the off street parking. The host was very responsive to any to our needs, more than helpful booking and having to rebook due to Covid. In addition to helping out when we got locked out!
We would definitely book again.
The location of this property is in a riskier part of KC; this should somehow be noted.
The pictures were staged to signify a more updated property. We knew this was older property, however were a bit disappointed when seeing in person.
This Kansas City house was a wonderful place for me and my family (mother, siblings, adult children and nieces) to stay - 13 of us. It was plenty big for our group and the house was well appointed and comfortable. The dining room was large, the living room was cozy, the bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect! There was also a large outside area with tables and chairs for us to gather, take pictures and play card games! The location was close to our wedding venue (Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art) and downtown KC. The owner is amazing and I would definitely rent this house again!
Great stay close to Kauffman Gardens and the Nelson
Our group of 12 had a great stay in this beautiful, historic home. The property manager was quick to respond to any concerns (AC questions, etc). The outdoor patio area was perfect for enjoying the spring weather and it was 15 min walk to Kauffman Gardens and the Nelson Atkins. There was a bit of street noise being right off Troost, but this was not unexpected given the urban location. All in all, we highly recommend this property to anyone looking to host a memorable event.
Les points faibles : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
Not a safe neighborhood.
We went Thursday night to stay at the house. 5 adult men for a trade show. We didnât stay one night because we felt unsafe. You should disclose what neighborhood this house is in. 2 of the men were armed and still felt unsafe. Should have called that day but didnât know what the procedure for the complaint.
We were here for our son's wedding and had a mix of family and friends staying at the house and we had visitors too. This house was one of the two best VRBOs we have ever rented and it was absolutely the best equipped. The house has great decor and nice bedding. The kitchen is really nice and even features two dishwashers, which we used for our crowd. I had a couple questions for William and he was very responsive! Only 4 stars for the neighborhood because of the city location--can't be helped. One thing to plan carefully is your parking. The lot is tight and we were allotted three spots--plan on backing larger vehicles in. There is plenty of street parking across from the house. Overall, the combo of the house itself, the amenities (coffee and fridges on every floor) and the owners customer service were FANTASTIC.
Great place to meet up with old college friends. Nine of us stayed in this house and six stayed in the house next door for a weekend. We were able to meet up here for dinners and to socialize - in the house and on the patio between the houses. The kitchen is well equipped to cook for a group, and all of us could eat together in the dining room.
The house was in a good location for us. A nice walk to the art museum from here. The coffee shop across the street is great! We all wound up there for breakfast one morning.
One of our group was in a wheelchair and he didn't have problems getting into and out of the house, or to the parking lot or street, but he couldn't get out to the patio. We didn't realize until it was too late to call someone to ask if there was a way to do this. (There is a gate to the patio area at the front of the house that was locked while we were there. I think the sidewalk between the gate and the accessible door is flat with no steps. So contact the owner to see if there is a way to make the patio accessible by wheelchair, or if there was something we missed.)
Comments about this house from some others in our group:
* Lovely property! Very well furnished. Would happily return another year.
* Nice to have board games available
* It was nice having a fan in the number 3 bedroom
* Great to have ample refrigerator and freezer space
*I loved the house. It was quiet, clean, peaceful & safe neighborhood.
I would definitely stay again.
Eight of us stayed over Christmas and the house was festively decorated, which made our stay very nice. The weather in KC was chilly, which wasn't the houses fault, but we all felt cold, LOL. Great space for dining and gathering.
When 12 authors within our military nonprofit's publishing family decided to attend this year's annual AWP conference held in KC, they also decided to reserve 1016 as their home-away-from-home, and what a smart move! From the beginning stages of reservation until check-out, 1016's host was accessible and eager to ensure each of our authors enjoyed a 5-star experience. Most of our authors had never met in person, so the number of bedrooms and baths afforded everyone enough privacy, and the large dining and living rooms enough room for large group discussions. Because so many of our authors were also going back and forth to the downtown conference, which was only an 8-minute drive from 1016, the home's security system with its entry code and automatic lock after each entry/departure allowed everyone to feel they could come and go with peace of mind. Every bed and pillow was top quality; every bathroom appointed with irons, hair dryers, body wash, and shampoo/conditioner dispensers. The only regret was in over packing for this trip, unaware somehow that the home offered such amazing amenities. And the check-out was the easiest ever! This home, 1016, is historic, and remodeled to splendor without losing any of its olden charm. If we ever return to KC, we WILL reserve 1016 again! What a wonderful, memorable experience! Thank you!
Great property to host family and friends for the weekend! Property manager was easily accessible and provided great communication! Look forward to staying there again in the future.
We used this home for a girls trip with 12 adult women. It held us all very comfortably and offered plenty of space and privacy. The parking holds 2-3 cars, but street parking is also easily available. The commercial size fridge and freezer were great for a large group. The location felt central to the areas we were visiting, and we were able to do a WalMart+ delivery to the front door. Irons and hair dryers are provided, but bring your own pillows!
