The listing was inaccurate - the beds situation that was listed was not what was there , thank goodness the 1 person did not come with us - he would've had nowhere to sleep , the beds were uncomfortable, hardly slept at all the whole time I was there the listing said towels were included - they were not there , the host said ceiling fans did not work, but all they had to do was be switched on - will not ever be staying here again - be very wary if you do -its WAY off the beaten path - renter beware

I’m so sorry that the beds were not comfortable for you they are all brand new We have 1 bedroom with a queen bed The 2nd bedroom has one full bed and one twin The third bedroom has one full bed and one twin The cleaning lady forgot to leave the towels and once we knew that our maintenance man brought towels immediately to you It is off the beaten path and most renters love that it is The first line of the home states it’s off the beaten path So sorry it wasn’t what you were expecting That’s the first time anyone ever complained about it.

Fantastic!

This is one of my favorite locations I’ve stayed at. The house is lovely, clean, comfortable, quiet, has everything you need, the pool and hot tub are fantastic, and it’s close to anywhere you want to go while feeling like a hideaway retreat. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

Family friendly and cozy

We had a great time at Katies house! The house is very cozy, and is a great set up for kids. Our 4 year old son loved having all the toys to play with! Katie wsd very responsive and answered all our questions very promptly. We didnt use the pool but it looked like it would have been a fun time! We would stay here again.

The sleeping arrangements were not as advertised. One room with bunks was not accessible. I was never told this. The day before check in I happened to read a review which was recent that indicated this. I had to reach out to the owner who confirmed this and did offer a refund. I could not change my plans though on such short notice. Our family had to “make it work”. The house was filthy. It had not had a thorough cleaning for some time. Grease and grime all over the kitchen, dirty refrigerator, stove, oven and dish storage. There were what I believe to be pet urine stains on one of kitchen mats. Dust and cobwebs everywhere and dead insects in the light fixtures. The vents were all dusty. The pool was being shocked and couldn’t be used. I was told this before and it was not an issue, however the hot tub was rusty and dirty and I would not have used it. This was a shame because we had expected to. The bathroom toilets were dirty.The bedding had stains on the comforters and the bedroom carpets were dirty as well. There are recently laid floor boards in the family room with dozens of old nails heads sticking up which can really injure your feet if barefoot. We only stayed because we had tickets to a Pirates game. I live 5 hours away and I had senior citizens with me, so making other arrangements would have been difficult and costly. I would not stay here again.

It’s so sad to me that you had 8 people here for 200 dollars per night My house was spotless You reached out early and I explained to you the bed situation and you were offered a refund but where in the world would you be able to stay with 8 guests for 200 a night ??? I wrote you a wonderful review I write everyone a wonderful review despite what you write Because I’m kind I had a brand new washing machine and it’s broken not sure what you and your crew did to it and I chose to be kind And not say anything in your review about this Home owners beware people that are given a discount love to rip your home apart and give bad reviews when in fact they get off on trying to ruin your business. Stay at the super 8 next time squeeze into a motel room with 8 instead of a lavish huge 3 bedroom clean home

It was a quiet street, but so close to everything. The home was perfect for us to stay in one room, and our daughter's family to stay in the two rooms on the other side. One room had a Barbie dream house, compkete with Barbies! Our little Grand loved it! Other toys and lots of books too. And the pool and huge yard! Lots of things to do with kids there!The wifi worked great. I had a few virtual meetings without any issue.The home was clean, plenty of room to unpack in the bedrooms, and room to store our food in the kitchen. All the cooking utensils too. One key: comfortable beds! What a relief! This home is homey, not stuffy or fancy. It was very comfortable and we felt welcome to make ourselves at home. Much appreciated!I took photos there but none of just the house.

The ad was inaccuate which was a problem...

My family is pretty flexible, but the ad says there are 3 bedrooms which sleeps 8.Bedroom 1: 2 Queen BedsBedroom 2: 2 Queen BedsBedroom 3: 3 Double Bunk Beds and 1 Twin BedIn actuality, there were 3 bedrooms, but there were no room with 2 beds in any room, and no bunk beds.We were in the area for a funeral and we trusted that we could sleep 8, We invited 2 groups to spend the night, but the lack of beds caused them to both leave early. One had to get a hotel room. Thanks.

Mardon booked this stay dishonestly he said 3 guests, that's what he paid for. As an owner I did not know he needed more than 3 bedrooms. Had he been honest that there were more guests, I would have unlocked the second floor which has 3 more bedrooms.

The title of the listing says it all.

The title of the listing, "Spacious cozy retreat, off the beaten path close to all Pittsburgh attractions" is a perfect description for this home. The location is super quiet in a good way. No highway noise, no loud neighbors, almost too quiet ;) Plenty of off street parking is on site which was a big plus for me. We didn't interact with any of the neighbors though a number of them waved as they drove or walked by. Definitely a welcoming environment. While it is 'off the beaten path' it is also fairly close to the local highway (state route?) with plenty of stores and restaurants an exit down. There's also a place called The Eatery very close by on Rich Hill Rd which has a number of ready made food items and a made to order with various breakfast items and lunch/light dinner sandwiches, etc. On top of all of that, the home had a variety of snack crackers and such, a well stocked cabinet of spices & seasonings, some juice boxes in the fridge and a keurig coffee maker.

Inaccurate Listing

Listing had 3 bedrooms: two with 2 queen beds in each, and one with 3 bunkbeds and a twin bed. Perfect for a group of 8 friends for a weekend away. However, two bedrooms contained just 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed in each. The third bedroom had a single queen bed. When we contacted the host she rather snippily told us that it sleeps 8 and thats how many we booked for. When we pointed out we didn't particularly want to double up, she again stressed that we could all fit in the beds that were there. Katie also informed us we could leave if we were not happy.Since we had already planned for the weekend away, we just decided to make the best of it. Besides the bed situation, it was a relatively nice house and backyard pool area.Then, we found the unsecured weapons in an unlocked closet. Several boxes of ammo, a couple of knives, and a crossbow with crossbow bolts (arrows). There was also a gun safe. This was particularly disturbing as the listing is geared towards families.What is unfortunate is that this could be a very nice vacation property. Its in a good location and has some nice amenities, such as the pool and grill. The host had put out pool towels and there were pool floaties. Also she had kids books, markers, and drawing paper set out for kids to use. The beds were comfortable and the house general clean. But Katie needs to remove weapons and personal documents, and improve interactions with guests who have legit concerns.
