Nick was a wonderful and accommodating host. We loved our stay at the house; beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for spending time together on the couch and in the kitchen and dining room. Would recommend this house to anyone looking for a comfortable place to land after a fun day exploring all that Portland has to offer.

Accessibility to the inside living space was not safe at all. It is located on the second floor of the building and the stairs to get to the second floor are steep, little space for foot placement and curvy. My party staying included my 85 year old mom and it was terrible for her on the stairs and completely unsafe. Additionally, the only air conditioning is a single window unit located in the dining room. The bedrooms have a small fan placed on the dresser, the bathrooms, living room and kitchen have nothing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Portland. The property is a short walk to the most beautiful views on the Eastern Promenade! Very convenient to all places we visited and the host was great to communicate with. It's a very charming place and would definitely stay there again!

The unit is lovely, spacious, and in a great location easily walkable to many restaurants and fun spots. The unit is well equipped on one hand-towels, bath products, one hair dryer. There’s lots of kitchen stuff but it is very much odds and ends. For a 3 bedroom unit with a full kitchen I would have expected more dishes. There were 4 of us and we needed to run the dishwasher every morning after breakfast. That was fine with us but keep that in mind if you have plans of extensive cooking. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of extra blankets. The only surprise to me was that this is a second floor unit. Perhaps I missed that in the description but my dad is disabled. Be aware that you have to climb a flight of stairs. There are a few maintenance things that need to be taken care of like several light bulbs need replacing, the dryer is really slow, some broken boards under one bathroom vanity that keeps you from storing anything under there. None of these issues are dealbreakers. The host was excellent in communication and seeing to our needs. I can’t say enough good things about his prompt responses and decisive actions. I would highly recommend this property and this host!

Pros: Host was responsive. Check in was easy. Location was nice - a walk to downtown and close to the water. Would be good for college kidsCons: Note great for families. Loud upstairs neighbors. Home is a little tired and could use fresh paint all over including cabinets (felt like a college apartment rental). Inside kitchen drawers were a bit dirty and should be cleaned out. We found clothing in a dresser and pacifier under a bed. One bathroom had only 1 of 4 lights that worked and the tub was sort of grimy. The Wi-Fi did not work - we had to use our phones at hotspots to use the TV. Listing was not accurate - stated there was a Keurig with pods so we didn't bring coffee and there wasn't (host said they got rid of it 3 years ago but they didn't update the listing..not a big deal but would have been nice to know).

Hello VRBO travelers and guests! Please read the many positive reviews that we have and how our unit has been wonderful for families visiting Portland. We have operated our VRBOs for 10 years and our reviews of cleanliness have always been positive. Our internet is provided and serviced by Spectrum (cable). Since the issue was reported by this guest, we replaced all equipment! Spectrum has since confirmed strong connectivity with internet speeds showing 565 Mbps which is very good. For the routine maintenance items, all lighting has been replaced (an easy task when we know!) and we have contracted a painter to freshen up the space. As hosts, we care deeply about reviews and our guest experiences. We consider this an outlier to our many years and hundreds of positive reviews. We make do on guests feedback, as any hospitality provider should do! We look forward to hosting you soon. Many thanks for your continued trust in us! Erika and Nick

Overall, the location and layout of the unit were good. However, there were a few issues. One of the dressers was filled with men's dirty clothes, which was very worrisome, as we thought perhaps there was a squatter of some sort there. In addition, the apt. was not cleaned very well. We found food on the floor in the living room and a baby's pacifier underneath one of the beds. All of the vanity and kitchen drawers were dirty on the inside.The tub/shower is an accident waiting to happen. There are no bars to hold onto when entering or exiting the tub, and once inside, you are surrounded by not-so-clean plastic mats underneath your feet and literally wrapped in plastic shower curtains. All four people in our group used the very small shower in the back instead. Although the host “addressed” the connection issues, the Wi-Fi never worked. If the unit had been thoroughly cleaned, it would have made up for the chipped paint and much-needed TLC, but the uncleanliness only highlighted the areas that need attention. Overall, it met our basic needs, but I would not return or recommend it.

We always look to see the good in our role as hosts, Unfortunately, this guest was dishonest from the start when they arrived with 4 guests and their reservation was for 2 guests. Still, we take the guest comments seriously and commit to making well on them. We always strive for the best in terms of listing accuracy, cleanliness, amenities, experience and customer service. Please read the many positive reviews that we have. We have operated our VRBOs for 10 years and our reviews of cleanliness have always been positive. Cleanliness is one of the more difficult things to solve for person to person and group to group. We have had the same cleaners for 10 years and we pride our selves on many positive reviews for their hard work. What was left out of the review is that we asked the cleaners to come back to the property to clean the unit during the guests stay. We did so to address the cleanliness concerns and do so real time. There were clothes left and sometimes, even with hotels, this happens. Most times, nothing is said by the guests and we simply remove them from the unit. Our units are protected by keypad access and they we are in one of the safest neighborhoods in Portland. Our shower is a claw foot tub and we've never had a fall reported! Our internet is provided and serviced by Spectrum (cable). As soon as an issue was reported, we replaced all equipment! Spectrum has since confirmed strong connectivity with internet speeds showing 565 Mbps which is very good. As hosts, we care deeply about reviews and our guest experiences. We really enjoyed our stay on Munjoy Hill. The location couldn't be better - able to walk to restaurants, Eastern Promenade, the beach, and Old Port, right from the apartment. The apartment itself worked well for our intergenerational family trip - with comfortable seating, a full dining room, three bedrooms (two with window air conditioning units), a well-stocked kitchen, and two full baths.We appreciate that Nick was quickly responsive when we needed him to arrange for a plumber during our stay, too.

It is important to us. I was born and raised in Portland. It is most important to me that I can be a part of peoples memories and provide them the same excitement that I have had my whole life being from Portland and the great state of Maine.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

My parents are both Italian and there was a high concentration of Italians on Munjoy Hill when they were children in the 50's and 60s. It has so much history, all to become one of the most desirable residential neighborhoods in the state. We are one street away from the ocean and some of the most dramatic and gratifying views of Casco Bay.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We get wonderful natural sun light! We also have spacious floor plates that can accommodate larger groups and the two full bathrooms on the floors provide the flexibility that both small and large groups need.
