What a beautiful property this was! Sunsets on the bay are absolutely breathtaking. And the beachfront chairs and fire pit set a relaxing atmosphere for watching the sunset over the water. Kayaking on the water during sunset was magical! We also enjoyed the hot tub on cool fall evenings. The location of the house is perfect for exploring all of Door County. It was clean with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Tom, our host, was so nice and super communicative and went out of his way to feel welcomed. We can’t wait to go back!

This location is peaceful, comfortable and elegant. We made a fire by the lake every night and enjoyed the wildlife, Eagle, seaguls and frogs. Thank you excellent time had!

Our stay here was great, we went to a Packer game and Sturgeon Bay and just enjoyed the location. The house has three bedrooms however the bedrooms pictured are actually only two of the bedrooms, the third bedroom has a Murphy bed which ended up being fine for us. The hot tub and outdoor seating has been upgraded from the pictures, hot tub is larger and the games in the garage were great! Lots of amenities in the house, everything you need in the kitchen. Road is basically private, very quiet, like a gravel road up north, beautiful this Fall with all the colors and leaves.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved taking the kayaks out on the bay, the games inside and in the garage, and having campfires right on the beach. The location was ideal as it allowed us to explore both the peninsula towns and Green Bay. Thank you for sharing your home with us and we’re already looking forward to the next time!

Everything was wonderful! The property is beautiful, and the host was great! When we couldn’t find a lighter to start a campfire with, he even sent an Instacart order to the house with two lighters and some marshmallows to roast on the fire!!The amenities were perfect and we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. My son already asked if we could return to this property again!

Very relaxing stay

Great location

Clean and well equipped house. Kids enjoyed the games in the garage, hammock, and most importantly the gorgeous view of the lake. Very convenient location, close to everything you want to see in door county.

Weekend Getaway

Our stay at this property was wonderful. The location on the water is what drew us there along with being dog friendly. The house is well maintained and we were all very comfortable. It is a relatively short drive to lots of great places around Door County which was also very important to us. I highly recommend this property.

10 year anniversary

Absolutely amazing sunsets! The cabin was very clean and well stocked for our stay. Even though it rained most of the days that we were there, we were able to play board games, enjoy a wonderful fireplace,relax and watch TV and take lots of naps! It was a wonderful anniversary trip and we would love to come back!

Beautiful Bayside Bear

Bayside Bear was a wonderful getaway in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed being on the bay and seeing the stars and even the Northern Lights! The house was very clean and well equipped. Having a dog friendly place for our family was a real bonus. We would definitely return!

The home was very comfortable and perfect for our 5 days in Door County for our family of 4. It was so peaceful. The kids (5&8) loved looking through the tiny shells and playing in the sand by the water. I wouldn't say its a sandy beach; more rocks and shells but enough sand for creative kids! It was also very shallow quite a ways out - the bottom was slimy rocks but the kids did not care at all, ha. I would recommend water shoes to make walking around on the beach and wading easier. The kayaks were a hit. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking in. Propane grill worked perfectly. The home stayed nice and cool inside, even with hot temps outside. We saw two bald eagles early on, and then one was consistently in the area which felt really special. Was about 20 min to get to Sturgeon Bay, and about an hour and a half to get to the top of the county to take the ferry to Washington Island. The hot tub was the cherry on top! Enjoyed sitting out there in the evening watching the beautiful sunsets and bats come out of hiding! It poured one of the days, but there were games in the garage and board games for all ages inside. It was one of our best vacations yet.

We had a wonderful stay. Communication with host is top notch. The house is spotless. Dishes and kitchen utensils are plentiful. Appreciated having the coffee filters. Also additional touches like charges with USB on the nightstands. There were tvs in the two smaller rooms, but not in the primary bedroom. I may have overlooked that when booking. Not a huge deal. Two things future guests should be aware of, neither of which reflect the owner's hospitality, but are important to note: 1) the mosquitos are thick. Like swarms of them, which made it difficult to spend significant time outside, 2) the water has a strong sulphur smell, which I know is typical when coming from a well. Like I said, neither of these are the fault of the owner, just things that people should be aware of if they matter to you. The house itself, the host's communication, and the SUNSETS are all wonderful, and deserving of an A rating. Location-wise, it's a quick 15-20 minute drive to Sturgeon Bay. We also visited Cave Point Park and Peninsula State Park during our 4-day stay. There's also a grocery store, Marchant's, about 5 minutes from the house. Overall, a wonderful stay filled with relaxation. Thank you so much!

Amazing location and accurate listing

This house had so many extras to make our family’s stay so much more comfortable! We have a 16 y/o, 11 y/o and a dog. We throughly enjoyed bonfires on the beach, fishing off the dock and skipping rocks in the water! I personally enjoyed the hammock in the yard-it was a perfect spot any time of day! Our youngest could dig all day long and the beach area was perfect for him, so much space to explore! Having our doggie be able to join us for our family vacation was incredible! We were looking for remote and private with things to occupy every one in our family and this listing definitely delivered! We also made it just in time to pick cherries at a local orchard(Alexander’s Cherry Orchard). The people at the orchard were so kind and the cherries were perfect! They have made for some very yummy treats so far with more to come! We took one day to make the short trip up to Sturgeon Bay only to see more sights-but we would have been just as happy hanging around the house all day as well. We needed a few more days of vacation to thoroughly enjoy this location to the fullest! We would definitely stay at the Bayside Bear in the future!
