Brought the kids here for 3 days and had an amazing time. The little beach was perfect for our young children to wade in, and the property includes use of row boat and canoe which we made frequent use of. House was clean and cozy. We had a great stay!
Nice summer home on Great East Lake. Quiet sandy beach with rope swing. This home worked perfectly for our group while attending a wedding nearby. Good communication with the owner. I would definitely recommend for
a family vacation or small group of friends.
The place was perfect, clean and had everything you might need to be on the water. The fire pit was a good size and the water was clear. No WiFi, but who needs internet when you should be outside floating. If you have at&t plan on being off the grid, Verizon was fine. Had a wonderful weekend, would definitely recommended this place to my friends.
Amazing location and waterfront property - would return!
Our group really enjoyed our stay at Great East Lake! An entire weekend outdoors by the water - kayaking, canoeing, fishing and just enjoying the beach and dock! Easily, enough beds for a group of 8 and potentially even more -- but definitely plan to spend your weekend outside. Indoor space is great but not meant for a large group size. We really enjoyed being on the cove side of the lake and paddling out to the main lake when needed. Outdoor shower was a plus as well!
This charming, lakeside vacation home is filled with icons of happy memories, and itâs a place where you can make your own too. If youâre looking for low key, this is your spot - we didnât have much cell reception, and thereâs no wifi or TV to get consumed with. We liked it better that way. Thereâs plenty of cooking equipment, two bathrooms, beds galore (the bottom floor is a simple bunkhouse with a living room, the top floor is a regular cabin with three bedrooms, kitchen, and living room), a charcoal grill, and a terrific fire pit next to the water. Check-in was easy, and the directions were reasonable (please remember that this is a gentle, family house, and living by the Golden Rule is the way to go). We had a wonderful, relaxing, and beautiful time on an unseasonably warm fall weekend.
We had 7 adults, 1 toddler, and 2 infants at this beautiful cabin. The space was very clean. The owner communicated very thoroughly in the days/weeks leading up to the trip. The outdoor area is incredible with many chairs and a fire pit (bring your own wood). The water was a great temperature for swimming. The kitchen inside has everything you need and we cooked every meal there. The two rooms upstairs with bunk beds are small but the beds are comfortable. There's two ACs upstairs for the living space but we didn't need it with the fans and windows open (cool enough at night, not too hot during the day). Outdoor shower is very nice with hot water (indoor option available as well in the bathroom but outdoor is a great option when the stars are out). Went on a bike ride around and went through beautiful hills and other lakes. Other than the bike ride, we never left the cabin all weekend as we didn't feel the need (except to get more bottled water). We loved our stay and will definitely try to come back another time!
My friends and I had a delightful time. The place is definitely outdoor living; I had the best room in the house, but the other bedrooms upstairs were a wee bit wee. Downstairs is bunk style, which was just fine for the kiddos. Who spends time indoors when the lake is calling? The kitchen had room enough and everything we needed to cook up meals for eating on the porch or down at the picnic table.
Nancy was a great and communicative property manager, and when issues arose they were quickly resolved. Honestly I was a tiny bit tempted to give a less than stellar review just to keep this gem hidden đ but Nancy deserves the five stars.
You probably have to be a lover of the outdoors, in which case this place is magical. And if you're not, I don't speak your language anyway, look elsewhere for a review.
But for the workaholics who can't help but eyeball their inbox, there was *some* AT&T and Verizon service during our stay - just enough for those quick communications that got me back in the water. The library is a couple minutes away if you need to download or send any attachments.
Oh, and the neighbors were rad - great supply of firewood for sale just next door!
This home offers guests an incredible Location with scenic views and friendly neighborhood with plenty to do and a lot to say me and my buddies had a great weekend getting away from the city enjoying our time on a beachy lakefront cabin :)
We stayed here with kids ranging from 8 to 11. The camp featured a swinging rope for kids to swing into the water. The fishing was great and a very kind neighbor gave our boy bait and advice on fishing spots. The marine officer gave the kids junior marine patrol badges and everyone in the area waved as they passed and was very kind and welcoming. Nancy answered text messages very quickly. We had a bit of a snafu prior to a check-in with a missing email giving instructions, but everything else went smoothly. You DO want to note that you need to bring your own drinking water. The best part for me was mornings on the top deck, watching the water and listening to the birds and the breeze. Quiet, relaxing, and peaceful. This is a wonderful place for families to come and play and also for quiet mornings alone with your thoughts.
This property is beautiful! Amazing views (wish I could post a pic of the lake, beautiful colors) Absolutely loved our stay. Wished our stay was longer. Went for a quiet weekend and relaxing getaway and it exceeded our expectations, Had coffee by the lake and breakfast on the deck. Couldnât ask for anything more.
House has plenty room for families, we never even used the whole house. Nancy was great to communicate with. She told me everything I needed to know prior to our stay. House is fully stocked. Just brought food and a few supplies.
It is truly technology free, my sister has Verizon and was able to pick up signal with no problems. I had Att and didnât get any signal at all. But we knew prior to going up.
We canât wait to come back and bring the whole family this time. Thank you Nancy for sharing your home with us.
Although anticipated frontage on the bigger Great East Lake, the little cove was cozy (albeit weedy with no place to jump). This may have been an oversight on my part. The home was great but a lot of steep stairs to the main house. No AC in the bottom apartment (bit two industrial size fans). Overall worth a stay
We had a great time at the cottage this summer, second time staying at this house. The spot is fabulous. We loved the large sandy beach area which is great for swimming.
Amazing, beautiful property. The owner was more than friendly and helpful when needed.
Nice quite peaceful location. Couldn't ask for a better location to relax and get away. Thank you!
The outdoor space at Nancy's lakehouse is really wonderful. The sandy beach on the quiet cove is perfect for all kinds of lake activities. We traveled with 5 adults, 1 small child and 1 toddler. The kids had so much fun down by the water, and the adults had plenty of space and seating to kick back and relax. We made use of all the outdoor equipment, including the grill, firepit, picnic table, etc. The indoor space admittedly is dated, and the only complaint coming out of the weekend from my family was about the sleeping arrangements (age of beds, comfort, etc). The downstairs is setup like a bunkhouse, with bathroom and living room. The upstairs (only connected by outdoor stairs) has a nice living area and kitchen, and several bedrooms. Our family grew up with a lakehouse just down the road on Mousam lake, so we weren't met with many surprises. A small investment in some updated couches and bedroom sets (so many cheap gems on craigslist!) would really put a bow on this property. All said - we still had a great time, and enjoyed this rental for what it offers - premier outdoor space. Nancy was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, she answered all our questions and addressed any/all concerns immediately. It seemed like the home had created a lot of family memories, so we were happy to leave some of our own as well. Cheers, Dan
My family and I had a wonderful time at this lake cottage, We were looking for a nice lake for boating/tubing and this property delivered. The house itself is definitely dated but the description is accurate so it wasn't anything we weren't expecting. The upstairs bedrooms with the bunk beds are very small (only one person can be in the room at a time, unless you're in the beds). We were also surprised at the fact that the upstairs and downstairs do not connect. You have to go outside to go from one to the other. But, we had a wonderful time and the lake is so clean and beautiful. The outside area was great. Plenty of chairs for everyone, a picnic table, and fire pit (bring own wood). Nancy was very responsive and answered all questions quickly. She was very nice to deal with. I would definitely recommend this house, especially if you are looking for a place to relax outdoors!
The house was perfect in every way possible. Dealing with Nancy was even better she was avail every time u needed her and explained what I needed to do to get my weekend started. The house was set on a picture perfect beach steps from the back door. Fire pit with plenty of chairs. Deff a must see for urself just book and enjoy u wonât be disappointed!!
