Home was easy to find. Lovely property with amazing view! Had everything we needed and more. Would certainly return if we were in the area again. Thanks for a great stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at Mountain View Retreat. Conveniently located close to the national forest and out of the hustle and bustle. We would definitely come back for another get away.
A wonderful time in Andrews N.C. with a great and thoughtful hostess
This home was exactly as described and met our every expectation. My family and myself had a wonderful time both in the home and in the area. We would highly recommend this home to anyone interested in this area and all it has to offer.
Beautiful place to stay. Minutes from Nantahala and NOC we love the home. Clean, everything was provided and just the perfect house. We definitely will be staying again! Totally in love with it
The place was very clean. There was a lot to cook with, and there was an incredible view. I love the coffee maker and the fish that I caught.
The house was very comfortable with great water pressure. Bed was very comfortable..
Thank you for having me Iâd like to come back someday with my family.â€ïž
Property was perfect for the family time we were looking to spend for the holiday. Rooms were comfortable, beds were comfortable and property was nice. Loved the kitchen area. Only issue we had was the hot water ran out quickly. It was a great home away from home. Thank you Ms Jacklyn
This place was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Had plenty of pan and dishes, towels. I will be staying again. Great place to sit on poarch and rest. 10 Stars
I had a really nice time at the MountainView Retreat. It was easy to find and very nice. The view from the front porch was amazing. We like to visit lake Nantahala, and this cabin was very close (about 20 minutes). It is also close to Andrews, Robbinsville and the Nantahala Gorge. We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our stay here. There was an issue with the Wi-Fi it that was resolved the second day. After a bit we figured out how to use the heat as there was no instruction on how to do it. Received a free bottle of wine and homemade jam and eggs.
Our family really enjoyed our trip. The house was cute, clean, cozy and we all felt at home there. We took the most beautiful drive in the Nantahala National Forest to Wayah Bald. It was breathtaking! Iâd highly recommend it! We also went to the NOC (Nantahala Outdoor Center) where we walked around enjoying the river and had a lovely dinner. The small town of Andrews provided us with an easy going afternoon of exploring their shops. This is a delightful place to stay with beautiful mountains during the day and a star filled skies at night.
We loved the house. Everything was perfect. Very clean and neat. I think the kids favorite part of the stay was the dogs. Our favorite part was the front porch with the beautiful view. Thank you for opening your rental up to us. We look forward to renting from you again. The stay made it hard for us to leave.
My furry daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights over Veteran's Weekend. Mea'Ola loved that the front porch had a gate so she could lay out there anytime she wanted to. The view of the Smokies was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were super soft. I got to meet the neighbors and learned the history of the land. My only negatives are there were no lids for the pots and not many utensils for cooking. I am already thinking about when I'll come back.
Beautiful view to wake up to each dayâŠ..nothing like morning coffee watching the âsmokeâ lift over the mountains. House accommodated 2 couples each having our own space and own bathroom and seating for all for meals and relaxing in front of the tv. Quiet location but close enough to town to easily get groceries to cook and stay home or travel any time we wanted to go for drives or shopping or out for a meal. Jacklyn was always pleasant and very quick to respond to any inquiries we had. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.
Close to Andrews and family. Everything was great!
We had a wonderful stay. Everything was exactly as advertised and the view WAS awesome! The home was clean and all of the linens (and rugs) were super soft. We were a close drive to our family in Andrews and to the N.O.C.
We needed to communicate prior to our visit and the owner responded quickly.
The home is one level which is great if you need to be closer to children. While this is a pet friendly home, there were no pet odors... thank you for that.
We would definitely recommend it and would stay here again.
I have always loved the Nantahala area. It is very special to me. This house is 10 miles from NOC Outpost, 10 miles from Andrews and 15 from Murphy. It is a great location!
We hiked every day, spent an afternoon at NOC and another afternoon in Andrews. We went for dinner in Murphy, and enjoyed a walk around the square area.
The house is great size. The porch is amazing and so peaceful! We did not use the fire pit, but it seemed very nice.
The kitchen is nice and fairly well stocked. We loved the ice-maker in the fridge.
The master bath has a nice tub for a soak⊠be sure to bring some bubble bath!
The hostess was very kind, she left us some local goodies which was very sweet.
I would heartily recommend this house!
We stayed for a 4-day weekend to enjoy the beauty and relaxed pace of the mountains. This house was a comfortable stay for hot summer days with a nice view from the front porch. It was apparent that the hosts care about the property and your stay. The fresh eggs and jam were a nice bonus and made for some nice breakfasts for the two of us. We had a couple of small issues that were addressed immediately by the hosts. The interior was clean, appliances in good repair, extra towels were welcome. The landscapers came to cut the grass while we were there and the smell of the sweet grass was heavenly.
The location is easy to find and access even at night. The driveway is curving gravel on a hillside - no issue for any car, but could be tricky for a street motorcycle.
There's always room for improvement. The beds were a little soft for us (but the couches were perfect). The porch swing was in the wrong place.
We would stay here again and recommend it to friends.
Hello and welcome to our charming retreat atop the mountain. My name is Jacklyn Postell Smith and I am happy to be your host if you need anything during your stay. I grew up on this beautiful mountain and then moved to Charlotte NC where I teach second graders and reside with my family. I have two awesome active kids which enables me to know what parents need when they are on vacation! Peace, relaxation and plenty for the whole family to do! I also have two furbabies which also draws my attention that everyone should be able to bring all their babies on vacation! This property has been in my family for five generations! We have enjoyed the view, sound of Postell Creek, adventures of catching crawdads and salamanders, and sitting by the fire eating s'mores. We are excited to share this beautiful place with you now!
The scenery is tranquil with a spectacular mountain view. My favorite part of the property is the ability to go out on the porch with my morning coffee and take in the view of the Smokies. I also love sitting at the firepit on summer nights, listening to the babbling creek and making s'mores with my family.
