This private one bedroom unit was the original summer kitchen of this 1860 Victorian home. Enjoy the yard and walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants and attractions in charming Jim Thorpe, PA.
The location was perfect for our weekend visit. We were able to park the vehicle and walk everywhere. The room was sufficient for our stay. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and the noise level was minimal.
Communication was great and the location was incredible! You're staying on the main road in Jim Thorpe, but down a small walkway, so it feels very private. Everything is very walkable from here!
The Cottage was the perfect space for an overnight stay. It was private, clean & comfortable. The owner communicated with necessary details & answered questions promptly. While no parking on-site, the public parking at train station is a short 2 block walk. Overnight rate is $8 - it ends at 6AM, so you much visit kiosk to pay again to extend time. (We arrived at kiosk at 8:30 & there was no âticketâ given for being past 6AM).
If a place is advertised as a rental house, one assumes there is on-site parking. I would not have rented this without it had I known. I was then informed that there was parking in front of the building and that a few blocks down the street was public parking, but that I was coming during fall fest. The night before I arrived, I found out that the parking in front of the cottage was metered, and the public parking lot was full after a three-hour drive. It took me 40 minutes to go one mile. I could not park anywhere. The "public" parking was $25 from 6AM to 6 PM. Where do I park after that? I went to the event I was there for and decided I had been deceived into renting this place, so I drove five hours home for a total of 12 hours driving that day without entering the property I paid $275.05 to stay at for one night. I want a refund. I would suggest avoiding business dealings with this owner. She is not forthcoming.
Clean, and close to attractions, but likely the smallest room we've ever rented. Not a seat in the room. The owner was very nice to deal with and there is a nice outdoor area to spend time in. Parking was about 2 blocks away, but overall, not a big problem.
Location location location! Right in the heart of Jim Thorp. Just basically a bed and bathroom but clean. Itâs an old building and smells a bit of mildew but it was perfect for our one night stay in town. Yard was beautiful.
This is a cute 1 room cottage for sleeping only. There is no fridge to keep beverages cold or a kitchen. The room is very clean and the grounds adorable. We were only staying one night so it very comfortably met our needs. We would stay here again for an overnight visit to the area.
Perfect location to stroll through town, walk the trails, and eat and drink at the local establishments. There is even a peaceful patio area behind the rental, perfect for sipping some wine and gazing at the mountains. Geraldine (the proprietor) was communicative and clear in her directions about arriving and leaving. The rental was clean and comfortable.
Great location in the heart of Jim Thorpe. Small but very livable space. Parking can be a challenge in this town. Be prepared to pay to park near the train station.
